    Hi my name is Danielle, welcome to my True Crime and Makeup series! I’ve been interested in true crime for the longest time now, what started with me watching true crime on TV with my Nan from a young age eventually turned into studying for a degree in Law & Criminology.
    When I first watched Bailey Sarian’s series I was completely hooked, I loved how she had combined two of the things I’m most passionate about and delivered it so well. She totally inspired me to take the leap and do the same thing on my channel, so all credit for the idea goes 100% to her.
    I’m from the UK and will be covering cases from both the UK and internationally, let me know if there are any cases that you’d like to see from me! More cases will be coming soon so please subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

    I was sexually abused by my so called father and when I was pregnant with my child I went to a therapist and expressed my insane fear that I would become a predator and she said that the fact that I was so worried and that it disgusted me so much showed that I wouldn’t become a monster. And I didn’t. My child is now in 11.

    This kinda reminds me of Sture Bergwall aka Thomas Quick aka "the worst nordic serial killer", a Swedish man who confessed to more than 30 murders, was convicted of eight of them, and then a decade later it was found that he had actually never killed anyone and all the confessions were fake. You could do a case about him, too.

    • @i8ursocksha
      @i8ursocksha 2 роки тому +8

      Why did he confess? Did he just want the attention/notoriety?

    • @HannaA002Y
      @HannaA002Y 2 роки тому +15

      @@i8ursocksha Basically. He claims that he wanted to stick out from the crowd of criminals he was surrounded by, and wanted people to think he was interesting and pay attention to him. He said he liked the attention he got from his psychologist when he first started hinting that he’d “done something really bad” and he couldn’t stop lying and confessing after that. Apparently, and this is more uncertain but still commonly assumed/discussed, he also seems to have realised that he would receive better/more help for his mental illness and be given more medication and therapy if he “seemed worse than he was”. So it seems to all come down to wanting attention. Doesn’t seem to be as much about notoriety - obviously he didn’t mind that because it gave him more attention, but he seemed to be excited by just that initial little display of attention he first got from his psychologist, so I think he was just craving attention from anyone and for some reason he thought confessing to murders would be a good idea (weird choice, but each to their own I guess?). He also only confessed to one murder first, and then kept confessing to more one at a time, maybe because the attention would die down between one confession to the other and he felt addicted to the high of it. Odd man.

      I agree, @ the same time we should hand it to Ms. Kirsty that she’s REALLY good about NOT suggesting or claiming to be a “SPECIALIST “ when it comes to mental illness, and iterates this fact over n over.
      SamlAmWich, I realize it’s none of my business (just tell me to F… Off, if this is too personal)~ but how old where you when you were diagnosed? And don’t you think there’s an age category, where upon ppl are properly diagnosed, eg. 9-16 being too young?

      I do give credit to any true crime people that do say they're not a specialist, and Ms Kristy is only reporting the information available (so I'm staying subbed and watching lol).
      It's not too personal to me, I'm trying my best to fight the stigma that Schizophrenia has, by being as open about it as I can. I was 17, almost 18 when diagnosed. And yeah, there's definitely an age where it's too young to truly say it's Schizophrenia. Not only that, but there's a slew of other illnesses that can present similarly so the diagnosis is actually pretty hard to get. At least in my experience.
      Again, credit where it is due. I live the way Ms Kristy presents the details that are available. I just really want the stigma to go away or, at least lighten up. When I was diagnosed I was terrified I would turn into a monster and kill/hurt people, because of the way it's portrayed in media. I thought that it was going to make me a bad person.

    Two case suggestions for you:
    Brian Blackwell - Teenager told his girlfriend he was an international tennis champion, built up a load of debt on credit cards trying to convince her he had a flash lifestyle, and killed his parents with a claw hammer and carving knife when they confronted him. I'm from Liverpool, where it happened and my friend's dad represented him. They got him a reduced sentence by claiming diminished responsibility because he had Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
    Ben Field, the Maids Moreton murderer - A 30 year old Church warden in a Buckinghamshire village seduced and then began to mentally torture a 69 year old author and lecturer, Peter Farquhar, by dosing his food and drink with benzos, hallucinogens and ethoalcohol, before smothering him to death. He did it to inherit the poor man's cottage and money after he died. Field then shifted his sights to Farquhar's neighbour, an elderly woman in her 80s, and started writing messages "from God" on her mirrors to convince her to leave him everything in her will.

    As a mental health professional who works with children, the back story of this case really annoyed me. All of the her symptoms she was experiencing as a child was because of the trauma. So many children are given ADHD diagnoses for simply not being able to pay attention due to hyper vigilance, which is because of PTSD. Some mental health professionals hear a client say they’re “hearing voices,” or “seeing things,” and want to diagnose them with schizophrenia, when it’s really a symptom of PTSD (such as nightmares, or reexperienxing the trauma). The pathological lying is also a defense mechanism used by children who are trying to cover up abuse. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was keeping some other abuse secret. If she was diagnosed accurately and had gotten treatment from a trauma therapist, chances are that this could have been prevented.

I lied so much, was diagnosed with ADHD and had "hallucinations." it took ONE trauma informed MH professionals attached to a rehab to properly diagnose me and get me the help i needed. I have no idea where my life would be if it wasn't for that person. I doubt I'd be a murderer but I'd probably be dead.

      @fredriklarsson8105I agree that the adults that abused and neglected her should have received punishment for their part in her destructive journey, both for the victims’ sake and even for the sisters that got abused. So so so many, I dare say majority, of criminals have a ‘helping hand’ in developing their antisocial behaviours and was given reasons to develop extremely toxic coping strategies - be it addiction or murder and everything else in between. And it all hurts so so many more people than just the child that was abused. As a society we don’t do enough to protect the well-being of children, and we don’t seem to learn from our long history that abused children end up hurting themselves or others as a result of their abuse. Not all end up harming others, myself included, but the self directed damages end up hurting those who do care for us later on in life. It’s like shrapnel that strikes everyone around you. And we don’t seem to see the value in heavily investing in our children so that we can reap the rewards of well supported adults that they are more likely to turn into.
      I often wonder how much better the world would be if we are able to protect and educate all the vulnerable children, even if only for one generation, the impact would change the course of our species.

    Had Miranda gotten therapy after Richards actions were brought to light a lot of her behaviors could have been avoided. Children subjected to such trauma shut down during traumatic events. That would explain her not feeling bad post event. It also shows she felt the need to be in the seat of control. Unfortunately her victim took the brunt of her upbringing with his life. When he "didn't care" if she was underage that was the final trigger that set her off.

    I had sexual, physical, and mental abuse from the age of 5 as well. This is NOT a valid excuse for murder and I am sick of people using it as an excuse for doing terrible things. I struggle with depression, anxiety, and PTSD from my upbringing, but at age 63, am in therapy and on the right the right meds. I have never hurt anyone. So I wish people would stop using the childhood abuse thing as an excuse. We are all responsible for our own actions and reactions. We are NOT responsible for other's actions.

      This really didn't scream "thrill kill" to me. While the whole "hamburger" incident happened (imo due to the adrenaline after taking all her rage out on this poor man) I didn't get a thrill kill vibe. She struck me as neither boasting nor expressing regret. She struck me as more numb than anything. Maybe she thought it would stop the pain from the tragic and disgusting rapes she and her sister endured at such a young age. But after that adrenaline wore off, her pain returned and she realized she would never escape it. I just didn't get psychopath from her. It doesn't excuse it, but it changes the landscape. She begged Dr. Phil for help. She was in so much despair and needed her mom and her mom was to tied up with her own emotions to be there for her daughters who needed her. If the sisters were removed from her care after her uncle had been put away, I don't understand why they didn't get the help they so needed after such disgusting and unfathomable things happened to them. It's just another testament in a long line of this country's willingness to put the mental well-being on the back burner instead of helping us to gain positive coping skills to move forward in a positive manner. Dr. Phil (imo) had NO business touching this case, however. I've resisted having a negative opinion of him, but I look at him through different eyes today than I did before. I don't think his heart is in the right place. When money is your God, your heart is no longer in the equation.

    When I was ten years old my best friend suddenly moved away. I was so sad as we did everything together and had such fun times as ten year olds do. Six years later she came to visit. She told me that what had happeded was her stepdad was coming into her room at night and sexually assaulting her. She finally told her mom when he started going after her younger sister. The next thing she said was also devestating. She said she told me about it. When it was happening. We had discussed it. I vaguely recall conversations about weird stuff like hiding in the closet from her dad. I also remember her telling me her dad comes into her room at night to sleep with her. I remember thinking that was weird. It breaks my heart that I knew but didn't know. I did not understand what was being said to me. Or if I had told my mom the things she told me, my mom would have known immediately. But C had told me that it was a secret. And I'd kept the secret out of loyalty to my friend. Dear God! He went to jail for his crimes. It's been forty two years since it happened and I kept in touch with my friend. She eventually forgave him and I saw a picture of her with him and the rest of the siblings on Facebook. She is okay and is happy in her life.

      Of course that's the reason. What other reason could someone come up with? The abuse led to her mental health which led to the murder. I mean it's simplified but it's the summary. I think no one sees any other motive for her. However it's only an explanation but no excuse, or otherwise if one thinks that it would also be an excuse than her uncle who abused her had the same excuse. He was also abused as a child. So, I think we can agree on the reason no excuse thing instead of using double standards or even take away responsibility from abusers and murderers.

She has a beautiful young son who misses her family very badly. I am currently working with detectives in this case as a clairvoyant, medium, and empath. I know she is still alive; we just need to spread the word and her photograph around more. The way she vanished is a o insane and although I know she is alive and what happened and the area she is in, I have no way of making contact her or anyone she knows that is with her. Maybe you can just make a short video on it. We need to spread the word for her son. I am asking every true crime narrator, such as yourself, to do the same. We need publicity for the case. “I’m very offended!”
    This little butthead has seen the trope in interrogation videos where they say “an innocent person would be very offended and defensive if accused of such a heinous crime.” but she didn’t know she’s supposed to ACT super offended, not declare it 😂
