A bit of a different video today sharing my new car! Happy to share more videos like this, depends of course on how this is received. Very enjoyable to just go for a ride and talk car design. Probably need to invest in a better mic though lol. Regardless, thanks for watching and sketch on!
A nice "little" car you have bought! I think the countryman is one of the few cars (like the Jimny) that really looks good because it's a bit boxy. It's just adorable in my opinion ^^
Please do a redesign of the mini electric especially the grill much like the 'real' looking grill on the Mach e GT. I think that would enhance the looks of it a lot. Currently it looks like a toy. That flat grill is just meh...
I’ve had my 2012 Clubman S for 8 years and it’s been a surprisingly great ownership experience - very few headaches and all of them were in the first 3 years (knocks on wood). Congrats and I hope the CM treats you just as well!
Just be sure to replace (not flush) your transmission oil at around 80-85K miles and do the timing chain kit replacement at around 95k-105k miles. Also, as this is a DFI engine...change the oil (5W30 full synthetic) every 5000 miles. The turbo four bangers need CLEAN oil. You'll avoid major repairs with some planned maintenance. Do it before it becomes an issue. I have had excellent experiences with our Mini's ('08 R55S, '12 R60 JCW All 4) by following these simple truths. I also run Seafoam at least once a year on the dirty side of the valve cover intake AND also once a year a Dixie cup amount of Seafoam in the engine oil about 300 miles (mileage on full tank of gas/ equivalent) before an oil change. Lastly, fuel injector cleaner or Seafoam (8oz) in the gas tank at least once a year to keep the fuel injectors clean. All together, these treatments consume a can of liquid Seafoam.
I have arrived 2014 mini Cooper countryman. I LOVE my mini, it’s honestly an amazing car. I’m from Miami, and having that car which would fit in any parking spot is amazing
Mini is a really underrated car Brand. My friend is a Mini Tuner and drives an R56 JCW. That thing slaps just as the R53 with the supercharger. Really fun cars with a good amount of tuning potential.
Definitely have been thinking about getting the countryman. I look forward to hearing more about your thoughts on this car. Also, another Floridian as yourself here..never knew that about you. awesome!
For audio issue, coming from fellow Mini owner: instead of the AUX cable and plugging it in everytime you can get some Bluetooth adapter that you plug into AUX and other end into USB (preferably in the glovebox so it is hidden) and you can have your phone with BT turned on all the time and launch eg. Spotify when you enter the car and play music automatically and wirelessly. Easy and cheap solution. :) Congrats on purchuase and good luck with the 1.6 as it can cause issues...
I have a Mini Cooper S "05 and didn't have any bluetooth either but a quick fix is a bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the aux port. It connects super quick the second I turn the key. You should consider it! Very inexpensive fix too
Great choice, I had one for a loan car while my BMW was getting serviced. Loved it and it's quirkiness. I could have easily kept it over my current car. Congratulations, look forward to more videos like this too 😁
For Bluetooth on a mini, check to see if you have an 3.5mm AUX connection in your console tray. Plug in a BT 5.2 dongle receiver ($10) with its male 3.5mm jack and then pair that receiver/dongle with phone. This will pump your phone's music into your car system via this aux input.
Great video ! Thanks for showing us. I literally just picked up a 2019 Cooper S Country man with works and signature package ! Has the JCW works steering wheel and the Shifter. Has the Black leather sport seats. It's DCT which is fine because yea I still have my paid off Project 2021 Type R 🙏 best of both worlds ! Got the Mini for the family my kids and wife ! Congrats 👏 Video of new daily Mini will be posted soon
Any other Mini owner that knows that car would think it's aftermarket HOWEVER one of the great things about Mini is that it's up to the owner's taste. I personally wouldn't care for the Union Jack lights on any of our Minis that didn't come with them except for possibly our 2 door JCW where the Union Jack lights were introduced as standard in the following year - and then I'd only go for an OEM set (which are about $150 more than aftermarket for the set). Again, to each their own.
@@cillian.murphy I agree - the R60 tail lights would look odd with the Union Jack - they're too tall to look right (IMO). on the other hand customizing your Mini is what it's all about...
I have a 2015 cooper countryman S and I love it!! It does connect to the car’s stereo or came with Bluetooth integration but not navigation, which is fine. Awesome fun car to drive!
This type of video will take your channel to a whole new level. I look forward to seeing how you transform this Mini Cooper and to what you might share about cars you see on the street. You have been quiet about the Cadillac Lyriq design - did I miss a show? Would love to hear your feedback on it.
Love the video format, very casual ambiance/discussion. Congrats on the car as well. Bummer and surprising on the lack of Bluetooth audio not being standard on a ‘15 model year. As an iPhone user, there is a notable different in audio quality when comparing Bluetooth audio and airplay/CarPlay. Going wired is the better option for your upgrade audio system, even if slightly less convenient. Enjoy your car in good health!
@@bolders9112 never heard a more true statement, especially seeing as in the UK they are rated as the least reliable new cars. Friend of mine bought one (to me and his brother's dismay after we warned him heavily) and it broke down the day it arrived.
I have an 08 clubman S and it's so fun to drive. If you like Bluetooth audio, there are a lot of good alternatives that you can just plug into the power outlet and aux port. Sounds great too!
Nice car! I bought one today but a 2016 Cooper S Countryman All4. And i love the car!! I saw that you rest your left foot on the clutch pedal. Try not to do that when your'e not shifting. Just a tip! Have a nice day!!
Just bought my very first Countryman. Im going to use it as my daily driver. Im 6ft tall and everyone has been telling me i wouldn’t be able to fit in it. Hahahaha. We shall see 🤙🏾
I am pretty sure, there are aftermarket Bluetooth modules to plug in to the original stereo by plugs that fit the original jacks. Such as wikii, anycar or yatour. Those systems work fine and you can get rid of the aux cable. BTW we just bought a 2013 RAV4 3rd Gen and this one has Bluetooth phone and streaming within the original system. And this is a toyota!! ;) Oh, and did you know, over here in Germany it is not allowed to tint the front side windows? Looks very good on the mini. Congrats to your decision.
I just purchased a 2015 mini countryman S all wheel drive. The car is pristine there is no smell of any dampness or mold or mildew inside the car or the trunk not the rug or the seats but inside the window seal it smells moldy and mildewy. I did clean it and there was a lot of black stuff that came out of it. Have you ever heard of this? Help!
If you drive an automatic Mini you're not getting the full Mini experience. I've driven 2 different Minis in the last 20 years and I'm buying a countyman S all4 right now. Its also a great looking car that doesn't look like the usual carbon copy you see from nearly every other brand.
could have been the "footwell module" which is basically the body control module - if your battery was completely dead for an extended period of time that module could have lost it's programming and things like the lights, power windows, etc wouldn't work or would stay on all the time. It was more common in the 2011 and 2012 model years but possible in to 2013. We have a 2013 which wasn't affected. I know there for a while Mini would cover the repair - don't know about now.
Now that I see what you drive, I don’t mind asking you to illustrate a modern Austin American... similarities with a mini but it has different styling you may like.
Bluetooth audio would have come with your Countryman if you had the Navigation screen. My wife's 2015 Countryman S was equipped with Bluetooth audio and the navigation system (which she or I never used). Her 2013 (which she now owns, less miles and less options but pretty much the same as the 2015) doesn't have navigation and thus no Bluetooth audio. There are adapters to attach to the USB and Aux ports but honestly she just listens to the satellite radio. The odd thing is that with BMW cars around the same year range even if you have navi there's no guarantee that you'll have Bluetooth streaming. And Mini STILL does not have Android Auto support - honestly, that was almost a deal breaker for me getting a new Mini.
I love Minis. I love small cars. Congratulations on this choice. In U.S where cars are twice as big than in Europe, this mini has to look extremely cute and cool. Is this brand popular in America?
