These Tunes are what you should play at your House for Halloween, 99.99% of the people won't know or have ever heard this WAY COOL music. Almost lost some of these were it not for the efforts of those who preserve this type of music !!!! Thank You !!!
Absolutely. I remember asking a DJ if she could make me mix CD 💿 of all the music she had played at a club the night before, and I would pay them. They ignored my message. So I guess I'll find BETTER DJ artists, like this one.
Today is the *7* year anniversary of when "Vintage Obscura Halloween Mix [2017]" was uploaded! I didn't know that most of these songs existed until now. 🤓
My grandfather used to sing "Curse of the Hearse" during Halloween season. We were all sure we would never hear the original version of that song. I'm amazed that so many years later, here it is!
I LOVE HALLOWEEN but have unfortunately chosen to live in old apts (which are in the sketchiest parts of my MN hometown) and I get one or two kids each year. Still, I play the vintage obscura mixes loudly outside w/my decorations, motion ghost lights, and a spooky walkway of 50 lit tealights to lead from sidewalk to my side apt. Some years I even have a bonfire going (it snows, or at least freezes by 10/31 in northern MN!), but everyone goes to the boring "rich neighborhoods" where everyone is cheap and the decor is boring. Haha, vanilla. Still, I put on a show with great vintage tunes each year for my few trick-or-treaters. I love that Vintage Obscura makes a new playlist each year, starting around ....2014?? So there's at least a decade worth of amazing finds.
I live in a 55 and over community! No kids at all!😮😮😮 But growing up our house would literally get 100+ kids,I know because my mom would buy bags of 30 pieces and would run out and she'd give out nickels,or candy from our bags we didn't like!😅😅😅
@Travelinmatt1976 that's a good idea! Honestly, unfortunately the problem is likely unsolvable, because I live in the "ghetto" of my small town, and unfortunately my neighbors take their own kids and drive them far away to trick-or-treat. 🎃 But, I have hope for this year!! My neighbor spooked out his triplex next door and I spread word thru the neighborhood for our handful of kiddos to come get the huge bags I hand out. 😉 Happy Halloween and thank you for the idea, that's very sweet.

not too shabby this feels like home to me I’ve been dead inside for a long time now and all of my friends are there singing them good ol tunes happy halloween
I watched the first two seasons of Scooby-Doo earlier this year, and the songs from season 2 were so catchy. Particularly Love the World, it reminds me of The Monkees and I listened to it constantly.
Whoa, on the playground in the early 80s "Curse from the Hearse" was one of those songs everyone would sing with their own version of the lyrics. I had no idea it was a real song until now!
Re: people connecting "The Worms Crawl In" with "Curse of the Hearse" -- Both of those songs' verses actually branched off from a WWI folk song that's often called "The Hearse Song."
Thank you for putting the years of the songs in the description! I love that; so many videos don't do that! And I like how the 'A' side is older and the 'B' side is newer songs, that's really cool!
I unironically find Don't Be Afraid to be an absolute banger and am now hunting it down for my playlists This whole album was so weird but wonderful. I like the random mix of songs. I recognized three of them was all!
Greetings from a year later. I don't suppose you had any luck? I've poked around and am not quite ready to believe that this is their only track to speak of. Thank you kindly.
Roy Fox This House Is Haunted. I just came back from a very haunted Lighthouse and it's haunted Keeper's House. Very fitting. I'm going to play some of the songs from here over there and see what happens.
Kaptain Carbon, wherever you are... thank you for all your Halloween sets! I revisit them a lot and always have a shit-eating grin as I bop around to the music and words and spooky sounds.
Great comp. Very cool that you put Bobby Soxx (Stickmen With Rayguns) on here. I used to see them play in the early 80's. He was one of a kind. R.I.P. Bobby Soxx.
UA-cam recommendation is on the right timeline today damn

Yeah, if it wasn’t for this kind of music I would not have a reason to be alive

maybe try a Trunk or Treat, where people set up in a parking lot and decorate their cars

What another good find for tonight. I love being the unique house on the block. Cha cha with the zombies!
What a fantastic collection.
These are the best to play
Larry's Rebels is the same band that would sometimes be in old Scooby-Doo episodes!
I was just thinking it sounds like a tune from Classic Scooby Doo!
I was going to guess the Archies! Lol
@@jillianclaire0316 The guy who owns the rights to the "Archies" still won't let anyone use any of their works.

Whoever contributed !Action Pact! to this mix, you're the GOAT
I was spooked by the first song. Now I’m too scared to listen to the rest 😱
In times of such destruction these are the tunes I need. Roy Fox is so cheesy, Ozzie Nelson so debonair.
this playlist is frightfully good!
Yes, I’m afraid you’re right.
Every track in this video is a banger. I keep coming back to it. Thank you!
Whoa, on the playground in the early 80s "Curse from the Hearse" was one of those songs everyone would sing with their own version of the lyrics. I had no idea it was a real song until now!
Thank you for introducing me to the song Disco Halloween, that has become one of my favorite songs ever!!
Just stumbled upon this today. Fantastic!!! I can’t stop listening to it.

¡Qué buena selección, terrorífica, bailable, alegre, cinematográfica y bellamente "antigua" con sabor a mejores tiempos! ¡Gracias!
That ghost sounds like Popeye!
Or even Figdet the bat haha
Literally thought the same thing
Lol, exactly what came to mind
First song is def Popeyes grandpappy.
It does sound like Popeye doesn’t it 😂😂
Definitely going to be playing these from my window next Halloween! Love these!

you ready to cha cha with the zombies?

Starting Halloween tunes in late August
I had no idea Curse of the Hearse was the basis to Bow Down to the Worms
Damn I always come back every year to this specific track after listen the in-year ones because this one just rocks different, my favorite above all.
I'm ready for halloween
Now these are the perfect music to set the Halloween vibe!
back to watching these all month!
Someone made a comment that this would be good to play at a Halloween party. I agree 100%! Fantastic eclectic collection. Party on.
Thank you so much for updating this! It is my cleaning/ productive mix. I missed it a lot and would check back periodically.
Soooooo fun, I am playing this in my advisory classroom while we work.
These are awesome! Thank you!
Anxiously waiting for this year's compilation 👻
I like how this mix defines "vintage" as being anything from the 1920s to 1980s.
Actually vintage has changed as we include the 1910's to the 1990s and part of the 2000's in new vintage. Its just a time period to start.
Love this, thus is why i keep a youtube sub that has loads that spotify doesnt
Marvellous. Love it!
