Hey Kevin, for the rear dust shields, do the larger rotors clear the shields' lip that extends/wraps around the original rotors? The video showed some quick trimming to fit the larger rear calipers but unclear how the new rotors interact with those dust shields. I'm in the process installing used 86 1st-gen OEM Brembos on my '23 GR86.
Just did my first ever oil change using your guide on the FT channel. It's always been my dream to own and self-maintain my own sports car, and successfully changing the oil was one of the first steps. Wanted to say thanks for putting out these awesome videos and giving us the confidence to do this stuff ourselves. We appreciate you dude!
It’s a nice kit but just no way affordable. I am waiting for the Brembo kit that the new Tureno’s will come with. They’ll work for previous GRs with 18” wheels. And since they are a dealer option it will be covered under the factory and Toyota extended warranty.
I’ve got some 17x9 brushed aluminum Apex EC-7R’s for my 2020 WRB BRZ, paired with some superstreet-1’s (and soon the addition of stance parts air cups) and getting a big break kit to sit behind the wheels is extremely tempting. But that college student wallet is telling me to pad slap the stock calipers, get braided lines, slotted rotors, and then never look back. 😂

To avoid the dripping when swapping brake lines you can press the brake pedal all the way in and use something to hold it there. It works really well.

Bro you forgot the brake grease. In the future use something like Brembo B Quiet on the moving parts and backs of the pads.

What is a better value front and rear BBK kit for the GR86? I’m looking for a bbl. This kit has front and rear 4pot brakes, doesn’t seem bad to me.
