I changed out my brake fluid with Motul660 racing brake fluid and Hawk street racing brake pads. I was really surprised what a difference it made. It went from feeling like pressing on Jello to pressing on a brick.
Oh yea, that’ll definitely create a big difference, definitely more then enough for this chassis, Brembo is overkill but my car is aimed for show as well so I went with it
super cool idea I hadn't heard of yet. Thanks for the video. Some pro tips on brakes. Use the lug nuts to hold the disks on when you are mounting the calipers. Makes life way easier. Also use brake clean to clean the disk at the end and don't touch it with your hands. Finally there is usually a break in procedure for brake pads. Don't forget to do that when you put in new pads. Awesome video. Keep up the good work.
You got it! That is a good idea for sure, and I do wish I had brake cleaner, definitely something I’ll have to get next time I work on brakes, and YES! I broke them in, thanks man, I’ll keep doing my best!
I like the style of the recent videos, quite laidback and relaxing, you're editstyle has also been more relax instead of the constant cuts when you talk, maybe it's bc you have more confidence in front of the camera but idk, I like it alot!! Also I started following on Instagram love the reels!
Love it love it love it, exactly what I was going for with this video, and I do genuinely enjoy them, I think it’s a lot of factors but I’m really working on growing with each video so thank you for the positive feedback! And as for the reels, it’s definitely helping boost my reach and I couldn’t be more grateful, thanks man!
Brz's breaks are back! Getting a Vstar card in your first astral radiance pack is something else! Hisuian Decidueye is one of the starters in the Legends Arceus game~
Ahh! That makes sense, it’s pretty cool, I hope someone who buys risen products will enjoy it, it was pretty exciting to see
btw, 2nd Gen GR86 is the same as last gen, because Toyota decided to not use the aluminum knuckle.
I am inspired to undertake this project lol - Amazon here i come I live over in Sydney so yeah. - Great video and easy to follow step by step
Much appreciated the links. Thank you 🙏
I'm happy to see that your channel is growing, I enjoy watching your videos and seeing what you do to that BRZ. I'm grabbing an 86 in the future and these videos are only hyping me up for it! 10k will come very soon, Keep up the great work!
I appreciate it! I am trying my best, and I can’t wait to see you in a 86, you’re gonna love it! 10k is a dream right now but we will keep pushing!!
This is awesome man! Thank you for doing a full break down on everything and where to get the parts. Def doing this when I upgrade my brakes
Yoooo! Very nice video my dude, I'm currently waiting for my own GR86 myself, so watching all your videos and this is very much hyping me up for when mine does arrive. I'm also in Florida btw, 🤙 so if you ever host a meet up or anything I'd be down to come chill or whatever is planned. Keep on making these videos man!
Ayee!! You’re gonna love it man, and sounds good bro, glad to see I have more people in the area, we’re working on hosting monthly meets, so you’d definitely have to come out!
You could try to use a tool know as an “easy out” to try and remove the caliper bleed screw, or if you know a good machinist, it is possible to remove a screw using a left handed rotating drill. Use this drill, a lot of times it makes it possible to remove bolts and screws because it rotates in the natural direction of removal. Righty righty, lefty loosy. Just discovered your channel. You have good content and a great go for it attitude.👍
that's awesome, nice to see a cheaper alternative to brake upgrades, thanks for the write up! you are the GOAT! what can the FRS guys use for the rears?
Cool vid and sweet upgrade. Those calipers are out of stock on those links so it must be a popular mod for the BRZ/86 lol
in the future make sure to grease the back of the pads and any contact area they make on the calipers🎉
Hey man! Just a thought, if you can get replacement bleeders for the old brembos, you could probably get the busted bleeder out with a hardened reverse thread drill bit. Basically like a super hard drill bit for metal, but meant to be used with your drill on reverse. If you can get the bit to bite, you can usually spin the old bolt (or bleeder in this case) out. If it doesn't, you still drill a hole to hammer and twist an extractor into. I live in jax so if you have any questions or anything about it I can help you out! If you just wanna get rid of them, let me know too. I have a 22 BRZ I've been considering swapping to those :)

That’s a good process for doing it, the shop I brought it to that quoted me a lot actually tried that first and ended up breaking their drill bit into the caliper haha, and I do have them up for sale but would be willing to let everything go for super cheap if you’re really interested in saving them
If you are putting the caliper on the opposite side of what its intended for, you are going to end up with the wrong sized piston on the leading edge of the rotor. I have 996 calipers on my e46 m3, which mount in front of the wheel in the 996 but behind the wheel in the e46. Instead of swapping sides with the calipers, you switch where the bleeders and crossover pipe are so that they are in the correct orientation but the pistons are still properly leading/trailing oriented. I probably wouldn't want to run this setup for high performance driving because it will likely lead to uneven pad wear. Maybe not a big deal for $50 street pads but for $200-$300 race pads that would suck. I also imagine the performance would be slightly worse than if the calipers were on the correct side.
Is the crossover pipe internal on this Brembo caliper? if so, can you just switch the bleeders and the recessed bolts on the other side? then you can run the driver side on the intended side?
Hey man... Don't say that you are stupid. You are learning how to do this stuff and getting better at it every time. Being "Mechanically Inclined" is a taught skill you don't get it at birth. You are learning how to do all of this stuff. I am 53 years old and own a GR86. I am really interested to see how long term the caddy brakes worked. 100 dollars a caliper is MY language. LOL!
Haha thanks man, I really appreciate the support and kind words! I also love the setup thank you!
1st gen ea86/ second gen scion frs gt86,brz / 3rd gen gr86,new brz.
Hey man. Thanks for the walk through. Do we need to order the pin kit or does the CTV caliper come with it? You had mentioned you salvaged yours from the previous Brembos.
Very cool do you have the master cinder brace I hear that it gives you better feel
How bout the rear ?
Si for the 2020 I would need the kit?
Can you give an updated link for the rotors?
hey man I bought a big break kit for my 2020 86 but I'm struggling on finding the right roots and the link you put for your rotors is invalid I think u can send the link for those rotors u used pls
Can I swap the rear calipers with this
Hey, im 2 years late. But you think these will fit 17s?
What about the rear ?
Couldn't you just remove the plug in the bleater and swap it? It is a brembo you can put them either way.. Or is it not plugged?
What am I missing here? Swapping 4 pot for 4 pot, and I suspect putting on a MUCH heavy caliper? This makes no sense to me. IF you were trying to do a budget upgrade from single pots (sliding caliper) this would make sense... but changing the Brembos, it doesn't (To me). So what am I missing here? Bigger disk usage?
Are the Cadillac brembos light like aftermarket big brakes?
Would these mess up break bias and cause the cars handling to be off?
What wheel size are you running ? I’m not sure if mine will fit it
What so what do you use the $8 screw for ?
I need a link for that lift holy
They’re called quick jacks, I gotta make a video on all my equipment still haha
Why didn’t you do all 4
Does the Cadillac brake pads fit the 6 piston brembo calipers
What type of rotors can be used with this break setup? the links provided do not work.
Will this retrofit will work with stock wheels?
What bolt goes on top? Oem?
Where can i get that jack
can this be pulled off with stock rims, trying to help someone with this project and i just want to know ahead of time.
Will this work for a charger
Dude thanks for showing how to do this! I was looking for a budget option for a big brake kit! 10K is near the horizon man, you got it!
Not a problem! I appreciate it man, I’m trying my best haha
