one of COOLEST character I'm glad that brought him back to 2012 versions
I love this line, but I do think they could have pushed Metalhead a bit more. They maybe followed the Playmates original a bit too closely here--to me, Bebop perfectly represented taking the original and pushing it into something distinctly new with a classic flavor, whereas Metalhead kinda feels more like an obligatory up-scaled version of the original. Like maybe the Horsemen had less fun with him? I don't know. Still a cool figure, but not in the same league as the others in the line.

Looks really good actually. Such a great time for TMNT fans lately.
couldn't have given us the pink light piping like the old playmates toy., so they had to go with red. not a fan.
It's not done the same way either. The Playmates head has the light piping piece lodged into the head separate piece whereas the Super7 figure is a translucent plastic painted over. Not only is the gimmick not as effective but light exposed cracks in the paint job. Not impressive at all.
The figures are 300% over prices passing because the vintages looses are cheeper at least

This figure is literally the reason I started collecting, so the fact I feel so conflicted about it now that I have it in hand is extra disappointing. It's very nostalgic and I do like it, but I've got so many nitpicks with design, application and minor QC issues. None of the gimmicks of the figure work the same. No vac metal, the robo chucks attach at the wrist instead of the elbow, and instead of true light piping the whole head is painted translucent plastic, causing the light to expose the otherwise unnoticeable paint imperfections. I understand the reasoning behind the first 2 changes but the light piping gimmick cop out just seems like a cost cutting move. Unfortunately for me I think I'm the only one who cares about that, though. 😅
Great review. Hit all of the points I was hoping it would.
I agree that at the price point especially, these figures really are only getting to 90% of their potential, in terms of number of paint apps.
