  • In this video, I show how to install a REDTIGER F7N dash camera system in an 11th generation Honda Civic, complete with hardwire kit.
    Update: The video footage of the fuses show my yellow wire in fuse 9, this was incorrect, I corrected this to fuse 10, but didn’t show that in the video. You will plug the yellow wire into fuse #10 (door locks) for constant power and the red wire will plug into fuse #13 (wiper) for accessory.

    you mean you had it in 9? 9 is fr acc socket (front accessory socket/ front usb port?) did you later change it to 10 because the diagram says 10 is door lock 20a, door lock 20 amps which would work perfect for a dash cam since its constant power.

      @@jacksonjust3854 You are correct, I used fuse #10 (door locks) for constant power to the yellow wire. I switched it and forgot to update that in the video.

    easier to run the rear camera wire along the top near roof instead of down near floor and then back up

      @@nprform Hi, thank you for sharing the information. I’m stuck, I have 2023 sports civic and I have used 39 (R Side Door lock)for constant power, and 21 ( Cargo ACC socket)for ACC. But, it didn’t work out. Camera isn’t turning on. Any suggestion.?

    • @nprform
      @nprform  5 місяців тому +2

      @@Fu4fee First, make sure your ground wire is touching solid bare metal, Second, if you are going to enable parking mode, make sure the red wire is plugged into a fuse going to something that doesn’t have power, when the car is off (ACC Wire ), Third, make sure the yellow wire is plugged into a fuse that has power all the time, like the front door locks (Constant Wire), Fourth, if you don’t want the camera to use parking mode, you can install both wires into fuses that don’t have constant power, this will only send power to the camera, when the car is on. In my video, I have the camera hooked up to be able to use parking mode. This is what the owner wanted.

    so if i replace the fuses with the wire does that mean whatever original function it had will stop working? also how do you know which is 10 and 13?

      No, it will function as normal. I’ll double check 10 and 13 for you tonight.

      There are numbers at the top and bottom of each row of fuses. You count up or down from the number on the fuse box. For example: the second row begins with “8”, so you just count down two fuses to find #10.

    Almost forgot on the pillar did you run the wire under the air bag?

    • @nprform

      No, just run the wire to the side of the airbag and behind the rubber door seal.

    Hello. I also have a 22 Si. When installing the hardwire kit into the same fuse spots as you did in the video, for the parking mode, does it or can it in any way drain the battery at all with the parking mode on all the time? I just worry that it does and that i can come back to my car with a drained battery. So I'm wondering if the fuse taps are or should be necessary to use with the second fuse in, in order so that that does not happen? Thank You in advance.

    • @nprform
      @nprform  5 місяців тому +2

      The hardwire kit has a built-in low voltage safety features that cuts off power when the voltage drops below 11.8V.

    Every dashcam comes with groumd wire, yellow and red wire?

    • @nprform
      @nprform  4 місяці тому

      Not all wire kits come with a yellow wire. I have a kit on my Elantra that doesn’t have the yellow wire. I would suggest a kit with the yellow wire if you want to use the parking mode “always on” feature.
