Baby gorilla Sumomo was cared for by her eldest sister Komomo at first.
Then Momoka kidnapped Sumomo and looked she want to take care of and play with Sumomo.
Sumomo tried to flee from Momoka to Komomo again and again, but Momoka blocked her all the time.
Momoka is so possesive about her baby sister 🦍🦍

赤ちゃんゴリラの「スモモ」が、最初に長女コモモに面倒を見てもらっていました。
しばらくすると次女モモカがスモモのお世話をし、激しい遊びにエスカレートしていきます。
スモモは疲れたのか、モモカから逃げてコモモのもとへ行こうとしますがモモカに阻止されます。
スモモもあきらめずに何度も挑戦しますが、逃走はすべて失敗していました😂

Wow @7:15 Momoka is hitting her in the face because she is try to escape with the humans. Something has always been a little off with Momoka and Sumomo senses it. Guess the troop will have to figure it out for themselves.

モモカの扱いは雑に見えますが、ハオコも放任していいるところを見ると、ゴリラ的にはさほど危なくないのだと思います。
モモカはおてんばですが心の優しいゴリラです。早くスモモがゴリラらしい子になって欲しいと、あれこれ試行錯誤しているのが、動画から伝わってきます。その甲斐あってか、スモモもだいぶゴリラらしい表情になってきました。

It’s Gorilla behavior they are rough an Momoka is young. But to attribute it as human behavior is silly. She has been put in check by Riki an Komomo on other occasions, We are only seeing a snippet of the video.
A snippet was long enough to see her smack the baby in the face so it’s not the issue of the length of the video. The issue is that animals are sentient beings and deserve to be treated with caution.

Seems like this little one is not getting much opportunity to walk and climb and explore in a healthy way due to the over possessive adult. Does baby get to time develop skills. Just wondering.

This is very disturbing. The baby was cowering after being slapped around. This poor baby will end up having emotional issues if she is around Momoka too much. Don’t think gorillas can’t have emotional issues…just look at Genki at Kyoto zoo.

Why the zookeepers don't protect the Baby Sumomo !😳
It looks cruel but this is gorilla not human. True Momoka is a bit rough but she is young and is learning how to mother. Komomo has had the experience of 2 younger siblings to babysit and mother. Watch some of the videos of Baby Riki. He got tossed around too. Believe me, if there was any suspect behavior, Haoko would be on the case in a nanosecond, teeth bared. Same with Momoko and Komomo. Hell even Toto would come in charging.
I'm not saying not to worry but understand what and who you are watching. Yes, accidents happen but that baby has more bodyguards than any any human head of state.

What ppl don't understand is that gorilla babies are not human babies. By our own beliefs, it is wrong to treat a baby like this, but gorillas are way tougher than humans. As seen in males infants, with siblings older than them, they can roughhouse and not get hurt. This is no different. The other day, Riki was trying to get Sumomo to play with him, and he tumbled and rolled her. It is not dangerous, seriously. The only reason, I think, is Sumomo prefers Komomo over Momoka and Riki is because Komomo spoils her. With Momoka, she is encouraged to walk, and explore. With Riki, she is encouraged to play. I have seen Momoko (her mom) drag her, and not give her a chance to latch on with her feet. Remember, these are gorillas, not humans.

Little baby chimp Kucheza died of a head trauma so don’t imply that primates are tough and can take it.
You can certainly see what you want to see. This is not about how rough it is, it's about how toxic it is. She is treating the child like a possession that she competes for control of. There is no love or responsibility. At the point where she will not let the child leave repeatedly its just toxic abuse, but believe what you want.

I don’t like seeing Momoka tossing and flipping Sumomo around like a flap Jack. Momoka seems to want to control over the baby, but constantly appears to want to rid Sumomo from her back, but won’t let ie. Komomo take her.

Please alert zoo staff as opposed to just posting these disturbing videos. These types of videos are not entertainment, they are unsettling. We are here to watch a beautiful family interact not watch them abuse or mistreat their own. You are at the facility, we are not, please speak up for baby Sumomo before it’s too late!🦋
