It happened during breakfast.
A keeper was feeding the gorillas by throwing vegetables from above.
The keeper first threw food to Shabani. After that, The keeper threw food to the other gorillas.
Shabani, a silverback gorilla, approached Nene a female gorilla.to take the vegetables that the keeper threw to her.
Nene was furious that her food had been intercepted and chased Shabani around.
Nene's screams were terrific and the chimps neighborhood were very excited.
Nene's son, Kiyomasa, joined Nene in chasing Shabani around. On the way, Kiyomasa bit Shabani's buttocks.
Nene's daughter Ai also followed them, looking worried.
Nene's anger subsided and she returned indoors.
Nene seemed to have injured her left arm, but it was not serious.
The No. 1 rule of gorillas is probably that no one should take food from others.

The funniest part was when the neighbors (Chimpanzees ) were getting all involved and being SUPER nosey neighbors 😂😂😂😂😭😭🤣🤣🤣HILARIOUS

That was hysterical! Usually chimps are ALL about the drama, but today they got a ringside seat at someone else's family dysfunctions, lol! 🤣🤣🤣
They are funny except when they are tearing your face off then it's not so funny. Want me to post some devastating pictures of people who owned chimps and lost their entire face? Better yet some killing people. It's jokes until you are in a cage. I don't think they want to be forced into captivity. They love and die in a cage for humans amusement.

@@dizziechef9502 If you watch the entire video, at 5:42 while the gorillas are chasing each other around and Nene is screaming, the camera pans over to the tower in the chimpanzee enclosure. Three chimps can be briefly seen hooting, screaming and jumping up and down on top of the tower in response to the fuss in the gorilla enclosure. That's what's being referred to.

Shabani is the first Silverback I’ve seen who shares his food. I’ve also seen Ai offering Shabani’s favorite snacks to him without him asking. He probably thought Nene wouldn’t mind. But what would you know. Nene is Nene! 😂

Looks like a well kept and large enclosure for them all. It’s fascinating watching them.

Not much of an "attack" that I could see. Nene appeared to challenge him on the hill and the next thing I saw was the family is chasing Shibani around.

I've been at a zoo when some chimps got into a huge brawl and omg it terrifying to watch from a safe place. Just absolutely terrifying. I don't scare easily but I was frozen because I was so scared and I wasn't even in danger. I've seen grown men fighting and I was concerned but not terrified. Seeing certain animals fighting is one of the scariest things in my book
But did you see chimps fighting against gorillas?
I can agree and say that it's frightening to see chimpanzees fighting eachother. They can be more brutal than humans!

If humans would stop killing them and taking their land, they wouldn't be in captivity.
On the other hand, they are safe, they are fed regularly, and they have medical care. They don’t have to worry about being attacked by other animals or people. There are pluses and minuses to both the wild and captive way of life. 😊

Think what you want, it’s no concern of mine. I opted to share an alternative view on animals in captivity, and others had the right to agree or disagree with it, of course (in a respectful way, I should add).
They should paint scenery inside the walls of the enclosure and make them feel a lot better

Nene was born in Cameroon - her birth year is believed to be 1972.

Watch Momotaro, he's really great with domination. When he says no it means no, his troop knew about disciplines and rules.
He doesn't say "no" enough-he allows Gentaro to attack Genki al the time. He's a lazy troop leader-Genki is the true leader there.
@@TheFlashyWeasel Do you think Momotaro would be a better leader had he grown up with silverback leadership? Since he grew up around his mom only, I think it's more not knowing how instead of being lazy.
@@Charlotte-lz5xu I am not sure-everyone uses that excuse-but i suppose it would have helped, but the point is, he's been Genki's mate for over 10 yrs now, you would think instinct to protect would be greater. He IS lazy-doesn't mean I don't appreciate the "few" moments we get of tenderness with the boys. I don't think he was cut out to be in the position he's in. I guess they all can't be like Shabani.
@@TheFlashyWeasel Well said! I just don't know if behavior characteristics are inherent. It would be great to have a primatologist's view. I recognize that both Haoko and Shabani are wonderful troop leaders. Of course, they grew up around their dad, Kibabu, a magnificent silverback. I agree - if Momotaro stood up for Genki, it would stop or slow down the hormonal Gentaro. We can agree to disagree on the point that Momotaro is lazy, but I think we agree on many other gorilla behaviors. Thanks for the conversation.
@@Charlotte-r Don't get me wrong, I love the Momo troop-but he really isn't painted in the best of light-maybe I just wish he would be more asserting...remember too, Shabani's troop received a new huge area to live several years ago, I read Shabani was quite the aggressor in the old exhibit, and it took time for him to change to a more responsible Silverback. I really think room would help Momo's troop-groundspace-wise. I wouldn't be happy there either. But, I am glad they are getting international help-every little bit helps. 😀
What a terrible enclosure looks like the back of some factory somewhere, I mean they could paint some trees on the wall for god's sake, or maybe put some real trees in there or at least shrubs, looks like a prison yard, well I guess that is what it is,
