This cage is the first step to discipline the elephant . For 6 months it is kept inside to calm it down and train it during the time. During this time a team will be staying near the cage and monitoring it 24/7 . All food and sanitation are provide During the cage time people will try to tame it slowly and make it friendly and obedient. This cage process is very safe for elephant and for forest officers . If this done in open with metal chains tied to it . The elephant will get hurt and people who are taking care of it will also be injured . This cage method is safe and effective . When it becomes submissive then they give it a good meal and let it out of the cage, and the master / servant relationship is established. In the USA, horses are broken by similar psychological means. Neither elephant nor horse likes being broken, but it does not harm them.
