OMG, I love this umbrella even more after watching your video. We have a patio which gets very hot in the summer here in Washington state. We sometimes do nighttime astronomical observing which limits what we can purchase to shade this patio. Thanks for the nice vid and thanks to your dad for helping!
Thank you so much for your time and kindness to show us your very clear direction to set up this wonderful umbrella. I'm a woman who has height challenging :-) and I did it by myself 🤔👍😄
Melanie Anne I just found out the umbrella cover missing from my box. Is it included or you buy it separately? If it's included I need to call them. Thanks!
Just scored this at my local Costco! Last one, $549.99 in store!! No cover though fyi. Great video and you guys messed up the vertical bolts. Just move the umbrella up and it locks into place, I put it together myself. Thank you very much for the video it helped!
hello, this is very helpful. I have a quick questions, what's the length of the umbrella in that shipping box? I was trying to see if I can pick it up in my SUV. Thanks a lot for your help!
Filled the 4 base pieces with water, worked perfectly fine. Here in AZ no worries of freezing....good to go. Ordered ours for 4th of July 2022, of course it came a day late, and no cover was included. FYI
Hi…is the fabric water resistant and can I still use it if it’s raining? Most importantly, does it ever looks like it might fall off? My patio is a top terrace and also have glass around. Thanks
Question, what did you fill the 4 base pieces with? I used water and then had to suck it out with a shop.vac and small tube. Was awful, seems there are chambers within each plastic box. How did you fill it also? Thanks
we put water in them at first and then quickly changed our minds. We ended up filling them with very dry sand. it works really well but it took some time to fill because of the small hole in each base. make sure that it is very dry. hope this helps:) thanks for watching
How do you fill up with sand in that little hole? Seems like using water is easier. The one I have used sand bags with huge openings for the sand, easy fill. Should come with provisions for moving the base in case you don't want it permanently located but none of them do.
it took us a long time to fill it up. we used a funnel with a wide opening. you could used water but if it freezes then the base could crack. thanks for watching
I used water in mine, I don’t live in an area where it gets below freezing in winter. It is very stable with just water. However like stated above if you live in area where it freezes use sand or dump water before winter.
Thank you for this video. I have a few questions if you don't mind. We can't figure out how to tilt the canopy. Also even though we used 5 50 lbs bags of sand, there are still hollow spaces when you stand on the base. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
the handle on the side when lifted up will tilt it down and moving the handle down will tilt it up. you could add more sand if you think you will need it, but you have 250 lbs holding it down. hope this helps :)
I just purchased my Umbrella from Costco but it did not come with a cover and it looks like yours did. Do you know if it was supposed to come with a cover?
Susan, Thanks for all the comments :) you could try calling the manufacture and ask, mine was bought a few years ago and it came with the cover. Hope you are enjoying sitting in the shade it provides . we love ours :)

we bought ours last year (2020) and it came with it. You are the second person to say that the cover wasn't included, maybe it is sold by its self now. :( Thanks for watching
Bought one 3 days ago and there wasn't a cover either. For the price of this I find that to be unacceptable. I also wish the base had wheels and the umbrella actually tilted. I would not purchase again.
Hello, my deck is about same size as this video maybe a bit bigger by a few feet (12x15). Did the umbrella tap the walls when it swayed in the wind? Debating whether to go with a 10ft or the 11ft from Costco. Thanks in advance!
We dont put it that close to the wall. The height of the umbrella is almost as high as our gutters, so we try to keep it away from that whole side of the building. It does move a bit in the wind for sure but not as much as you may think. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching
@@MelandTim no worries. Each block of base takes around 50 lbs of sand. I would recommend people reading this comment use dry sand instead of play sand bcoz wet sand is hard to fill up.
Hello, I just watched your 2 videos on the umbrella from Costco. We are finally having a front porch deck built on our home . Because it's a mobile Home we don't want the weight of a roof. Can you tell me the name of this umbrella and roughly how much it cost? Our deck will be 14×8 will this fit or can you suggest one that would. Thank you !
in fact instructions says 50 pounds of sand, then « water to wet the sand » ( same umbrella, not led) But it will freeze in winter....so sand only if you live north. Or with water and antifreeze....
i am going to post a video on this. but for now lift the handle up and remove the to bolts with an allen key, you should be able to lift the umbrella out of the bottom half. next remove the 4 base parts exposing the 4 bolt that hold the center part on to the cross parts. undo those bolts. hope this helps
ua-cam.com/video/pqjPgoEqiCI/v-deo.html Has anyone had an issue like this? (In video) the arm attachment seems to slip out of the position it is supposed to be. It did not do this for the first month of ownership so I don't think it should be that way as it causes the canvas to bunch up above it.

yes it can all the way around:) some times we have it out over the grass and sit down there.

just bought it on May 15th. The base is a little bigger then I would like it but over all I am happy with it
Would this shield you from rain?
I wouldnt use it for that, Its more for shade.
Its a sunbrella material and it is waterproof...as long as the rain is coming down and not blowing sideways....you would be fine.
What winds can this handle
I am not to sure. We only open it when we are sitting under it and if it is starting to sway a lot we close it up. Thanks for watching
