A first half to forget, and a second half to remember. The press that Losada implemented in the first half was incredible. And DC found space incredibly well in attack and gave us nothing. Wilfrid and Maciel just couldn’t figure things out. Neither are true 6’a and playing in a double pivot didn’t work from the start. Though some incredible performances were Arnor, Ema, Adam, and AJ. Ema reminds me so much of Kekuta last year. Give Bruce an experienced Mls winger and he will make them look incredible. Arnor was very good tonight. Free roaming role and getting on the ball quite a bit. Not sure about the second yellow, I’ll have to watch it back. Adam got through multiple times and caused a massive headache for the DC back line. Raise Tajon’s price up, Buchanada well on his way to 15 million. I am happy with the result, but I would like to once again mention Hernan Losada. Brilliant manager who had a heavily rotated side look amazing. We were heavily rotated too but tactics won the first half. Let’s hold down the Fort for Saturday, GO REVS!!!!
Good summary. I'd add that Boateng absolutely tore us apart. The guy barely played for us when we had Olsen and came to haunt us. And thanks for giving credit to the opposition. Losada has done an excellent job given the injuries and some of our players who don't fit his system. Good luck for the rest of the season (except when you play us again lol)
Bro Boateng deserves much more respect and recognition, he's mad underrated and I think he should start much more, he's proven it the short amount of time he's played at least this season, other than that I fully agree with you and nice summary 👌
I agree that Wilfred and Maciel playing a double pivot was not a good choice but you have to try new things when you need to heavily rotate when the spine of your midfield is out injured (Gil and Polster) and you have this many games in a row. DC did well to take advantage of that and press hard and heavy in that first half but only managed that one goal. PS what a clearance but Brillant to deny Buksa who was a beast in that second half. As for Arnor I agree had a good game but also a stupid game. The second yellow was clearly a yellow. The first yellow was just shear and utter stupidity on his part and he knows better than to do that. Ema should absolutely get the start in Arnor's place this weekend, he earned it!
@@darrell2998 If we don't make 50 million+ off Buch to Europe, he STAYS. Point blank. Wouldn't mind if he does too, makes the team better. Really solid athlete, no question.
So frustrating when we haven't been outplayed these past two games and scored first but conceded silly goals. Their third one was inexcusable. The defense had ample chances to clear the ball and Kempin had to save that. He shouldn't have been beaten at the near post for Buchanan's goal too. Arguably the worst keeper I've seen at DC United. We had good chances after our goal and failed to convert them, especially in the first half. As soon as Bruce Arena brought Boateng, Buksa, and Buchanan on, I knew we were screwed, especially with our second/third-choice defense. I think Losada now knows where we need to strengthen in the offseason.
I know it’s easy to say this with my club sitting top of the table, but I do know how you feel. There were maybe two matches last year where we weren’t the better side and just about scraped into the playoffs. Hernan Losada is a top quality manager and DC have a good foundation set.
