Thanks it feels almost like these cars are making a come back these past few years which is pretty interesting. I can absolutely relate this is my second engine! But boy the brakes and suspension need a serious overhaul I'm planning to tear through the rear suspension pretty soon
You're grandpa was rolling with a Supercoupe!? That's pretty awesome definitely not so much about the tree I hope it wasn't damaged worse than mine, sadly every year more and more of these cars make it into the scrap yard.
Thanks! Im relieved the car isn't too bad, i told the insurance to shove it, it would adversely effect the collector value to have a salvage title because they are too cheap to pay for a fender, hood, glass, and some trim. The dashboard will not be too fun to replace though. But she needed nee paint on the front anyways so will end up better after this.
Yeah I was trying to figure out what to do with it, I'm glad it didn't damage the heater box or glove box. I think if i can get it shaped back together I could wrap the dash in some vinyl or something and get it looking better than it was originally. So probably a dash repair video is in my future. I am not excited to remove the dash though!
@@PowershiftFactoryon the bright side, this is a great opportunity for customization And insurance companies make me so mad 😡 was not a total loss, they just didn’t want to pay for it
@@eatmenickers6238 I couldn't agree more I think in the end it will end up better in the long run. I'm really targeting OEM+ style with this car so wont do anything too wild but boy an actual cup holder would be nice to have haha.
@@PowershiftFactoryAll I want is to put a refrigerator in my center console 😂. It makes perfect sense for a touring car to have one, and considering some SC have an extra cd player on top of the track player/ radio it’s possible to route those wires to power it without draining your battery But I’m in agreement, I think stock looks great already, I just want some mesquite accents to mix it up
Haha I meant to ask in the video if anyone figure out what happened given the weird damage! I'll look into PDR for the c-pillar dent for sure, I'm saving up a bit to get some of the front end parts re-painted sometime this year.
My plan is to get it fixed up on my own dime so the insurance cant force a salvage title and total it just to save a few bucks because they dont realize the cars real value or that its appreciating. Then once nice swap to collectors insurance with an agreed value. Insurance are cheap skates
@@PowershiftFactory 110% I have been seeing some clean examples going for 5-6k easily around my area and low mile examples in really good shape going for 10-13k. Once i get mine back on the road, i plan on getting it appraised.
Glad to see mn12 SC content , mines blown up twice now. Can’t wait to rebuild it and drive it again this spring

my grandpa had one of these and a tree fell on it in a very similar way. that's wild

My 90 fox body had the same thing happen to it. Pulled the motor and trans now looking for a tbird to throw it in
Sorry to hear this also happened to you, i certainly know the feeling its awful and frustrating hope the swap goes smoothly!
The glass is treated and tempered different. Explains the cost
Sorry about the car. Glad to see you’re fixing her up. Congrats on the new kiddo!

I have a red super coupe dash if you need one it's not in the best of shape but could be refinished. It's located in Alabama.
You can fiberglass the dash, and everything else is fixable.

Love the car first time seeing one ❤
Thanks they are really cool cars but most don't really know they ever existed!
That makes me sad to see that insurance would write off your car. Everything is fixable, still sucks. Has me worried for my own coupe :(
