I never found an ounce of nihilism throughout Frank's life (via interviews and from what others had to say about him) and/or through his beautiful music (and other artistic endeavors). Rather than him not caring about the fate of humanity if he were alive today, I think he'd find it utterly depressing. I think he'd be caring very much about America's current situation. But ... that's just me speculating. Only Frank would know.
