When I play driller I either use long reach flamethrower for industrial sabotage, or goo bomber for everything else. At first it may seem awful because with a large group of bugs, you can only hit a few of them with the charged shot compared to a normal charged shot distributing goo to a majority of them. This is because the OC needs to hit the ground to be effective. It has extended goo lifespan on the ground and by using the rigid geometry of the charges shots to your advantage, you can create funnels and "traps" as you call them. Escort duty for instance, while tunneling I will shoot large X patterns on the ground, and when we get to the hearthstone I shoot a line beside each side of doretta, sometimes 2 goo puddles wide. Anything that gets close gets stuck in the goo and you never have to deal with a single grunt stuck under the dozer. If you play in a bunker or tight tunnel, if you drill out the ceiling to give yourself room you can plop a straight line of goo right in the path of all the bugs. The OC is more of a CC then dps, so things like oppressors and bulks, that walk a slow straightforward path towards you, can be slowed down and moderately damaged while doing so. Just 1 charge shot can net you an easy 15 seconds or more of CC for a large target, something like dreadnought unfortunately move too fast and erratic for 1 shot to work like that, so you have to shoot multiple lines. And on top of CC, it can clear grunts as you demonstrate here. Massive swarms are no good, you would rather have the goo on the ground, but ~5-10 grunts? Kiting them properly- again, as you demonstrate with the aggro- you can line them up for charged that lands a puddle on each of them, 1 direct glob is an insta death sentence for any grunt except guards. But the innate armor break of the goo means most guards lose their front plates making them easy pick up kills for teammates or secondaries. And finally, me personally, I rarely see any goo drillers, let alone a high skill ceiling OC like goo bomber that requires thought and planning on behalf of driller. Goo driller is under-rated and face melter/freeze driller is over-rated. (PS before the sludge gun came out I was exclusively playing ice shard driller. I'm no stranger to drillers weird builds)
I run 12222 Goo Bomber and 22321 EPC Heavy Hitter. One of my favorite builds, I always converge two lines by shooting them in a X pattern and using 1-3 shots to ignite the whole thing for insane AOE coverage. Don't let numbers fool you either 16 seconds of goo puddles is super strong even compared to 12 seconds for Disperser. It's weak points are against anything flying but other than that I find myself enjoying the full effects of its area denial and direct charged splash damage against the bugs. And thanks for covering this overclock man, I hope this convinces some people to give this weird setup a whirl and have some fun with it.
I feel the goo bomber is in a weird place. It has some good potential but it just seems to fall flat at times. Like what I mean is that the line of goo makes it really easy to light the whole thing on fire but if you're trying to lie down the line of goo, if a glyphid is in the way of the goo falling, it won't coat the ground which kind of ruins it.
Nice to see you back! This loadout is very close to one I like to use - only I focus on general combat rather than maximizing slowdown. My usual Elimination build involves Sludge Blast instead, the damage is nothing to scoff at considering you don't have to shoot the Dread in the butt to land hits, unlike other classes. Goo Bomber Special as a whole is very underrated, I never liked how default charge shots impredictably scatter all over the place while not covering all that much area, and that overclock gives me a lot of control back. Not to mention the synergy with charged shots from the Burning Nightmare EPC. Also, one little tip from an ammo miser: make sure you never manually reload, and instead try to get your ammo in the clip down to one before firing a charged shot. This single-ammo charged shot essentially allows you to squeeze 4 free normal shots per clip.
huh, i use a similar build to this all the time, and succeed on even less than ideal teams. i go without goo bomber special since the fire spreads on its own, i take the oc that boosts corrosive dot instead so i can use my primary only for groups, and tankier targets get the fire as well, since the dot oc can deal with groups all on its own. way smoother to play like that
Builds that don't function on Haz 5 aren't worth covering. Haz 4 and below just aren't fun because they're so braindead easy. Too many people in the DRG community act like the game is difficult when it really isn't.
The boy is alive. Hallelujah

you have THE BEST DRG content.
Taught me about half of want I know. Axiskronosis is the main one that comes close.

Goobomber with burning hell is hilarious. Fire forever!

The AI-generated dwarf in the thumbnail is so weird. Only has four fingers. The gun looks smushed back. Hilarious.
Anyway, good luck with the move!
