I know you love driving in this region, esp with Sakurajima in the background. Thankfully this time, there doesn't appear to be smoke coming out of it's cone. It's nice scenery, but it'll only stay that way until God forbid Sakurajima has a major eruption.
Probably some kind of pine, but the shape is created through the skill of Niwaki, similar to bonsai but with the tree planted in the ground instead of a pot

4:42の交差点を右折して西へ５キロ程行ったところに、中原公園という知覧茶畑と開聞岳そして東シナ海が一望出来る公園があります。
