- Plans and Patterns to build this escapement are at DctDrawings.com This is a wood project, done mostly with a scroll saw and a drill press. It is about 15 inches high and 20 inches wide. It attaches to the wall with 2 screws 16 inches apart. The plans will be emailed to you immediately after purchase. They consist of 22 pages of 8 1/2 x 11 with instructions, material list, material suppliers, and patterns. The patterns are to be cut out and pasted on the wood with spray adhesive. Then to be cut out with the scroll saw and then drilled with the drill press to make an interesting wall decoration. I hope you take the time to build one of these escapements. In the past two months I have built all 5 escapements that David is offering at this time. I had never tried this kind of project in the past. I found his plans and drawings to be very well done and complete. All the projects worked as demonstrated on UA-cam. I covered the wood with blue painters tape and glued the patterns to the tape. After cutting, the patterns are easily removed along with the tape. I had some questions during construction and David was very helpful via email.

Love your simple elegant designs, easy for me to make. Another one I will be purchasing the plans for. Instead of using the mineral oil tho, I prefer to use the technique shown by Jeremy Fielding of covering the stock with painters tape then gluing the pattern over this. Just peel the painters tape off to remove the cut pattern when completed. Saves me time here for the extra time it takes for me to covert everything to metric !

What is its purpose when it was invented? Was it just a demonstration of an escapement?
I'm sure the inventor was working on making a clock more accurate.
Hi.. can i print out this paper on basic A4 printer? (i dont have bigger printer)
It was designed to go on 8.5 by 11 but it may work on something smaller if the pattern is not chopped off. (DCTdrawings head of marketing)

I guess you just have to watch out it doesn’t scale it to fit automatically.

Mine was mounted at eye level and went 45 minutes until the weight hit the floor. If it is mounted higher the weight cord can be longer which will increase run time. After constructing, I had to adjust the amount of weight and timing of escape pallet a few times for smoother and longer operation.
