I meet a lady today at a garden center, and she was asking about some plants for her garden, and they were no help to her; as I heard her talk about some plants, I jumped in to help her. She showed me a picture of her garden and asked if a plant she liked would work for her space. I told her yes but get 3, never one because she had a big space. I also told her about some other plants that would work. She had them all on the ground, and we arranged them how they would look in her garden. She was so happy for the help, and I told her to follow Garden Answer because Laura taught me! What a fun time.

I have to tell you that today as I was walking through a local garden center, I actually recognized the different flowers and their "real" names, all from watching you. As I was picking out some Salvia for the hummingbirds a lady next to me said the hummingbirds love these, I told her that is why I was also buying these. She is a fan of Garden Answer too. So whenever you might think that you might have doubts about what you do think of all the folks who watch you and remember tips you give us. You are far reaching. Thank you both.

TIP from a grandma with bad knees: to get fertilizer down past the canopy of flowers, take the rosette off a plastic watering jug and fill with dry fertilizer. You can tip it and use as a funnel to get closer to the ground.

It works best if you use one with a long narrow spout.
Thanks for the tip! I think that would be great to use when planting too because I tend to fight with the bag a bit and tip it over. Plus if you’re using espoma, it might cut down a little on the dust.

I’ve been watching your channel for quite a while now and in your last update video through the whole thing I just got this feeling impression that you and Aaron had hit a point were you came across “ yes this is what were meant to do and you were so relaxed and were just yourselves.” I don’t know if that makes sense but it had a very different feel to it and it wasn’t because of the editing. It was more like watching you and Aaron just sitting around having a casual conversation at the end of the day. You recalling things from your childhood and what sparked different memories made me feel that you had reached a level of confidence in what you have chosen to do with your life in sharing your talents with the rest of us did you opened yourself up to be vulnerable for us to have a little peek into your true selves. That being said. I’ve always loved your videos. But looking back for me it’s like watching my own children grow and cultivate what they truly love to do and makes them happy and I can only imagine how proud your parents are of the type of career path you have chosen and how much of a difference you make to so many not just in your area by doing your projects it to the church in the women’s shelter and so on but to the people around the world that you touch with each and everyone of your videos. I know they mean a great deal to me and I love the two share not only a glimpse of your talent in developing your own garden but into your family life as well. I’m sure there’s people out there that criticize you for the choices you make with the children but I think it’s amazing to have somewhat of a let’s called free spirit and parenting and letting the kids explore things and not be overprotective that they’re going to get hurt. I think that is such an amazing way for a child to grow up knowing their parents care enough to explain what they should and shouldn’t do and let them explore on their own but supervised at the same time without being let’s just say a helicopter hovering over them all the time and worrying that everything they do is going to cause them harm . This is the first video that I kept thinking "hey I planted that! And that! And that!!". Actually funny story about my supertunia vista. When I planted some in some hanging baskets, a little piece broke off and I just stuck it in a nearby planter thinking "maybe this will propagate". Two months later the hanging baskets have long died off (too dry and sunny of a spot for them), but the little prop is now huge and overflowing. I'm always amazed by it.
I love the look of Gaura, especially in a breeze. My favourite colour is the light pink variety 🤗

I think you made the right decision with the west side garden and color will look great! Moon gardens need more shade so that the white can shine through. Hopefully you're able to try the moon garden idea again in another area. Thank you for all the inspiration you bring to us! You've helped me become a successful gardener and it brings me such joy every single day!

I have learned so much from watching your videos, from which plants go best together to how to identify some diseases and such. We live in Mexico and that makes it so much harder to get ahold on many plants, no proven winners) for sure ☹️. But I can say I have dared myself to try new varieties though.

At the end of the video, I couldn't take my eyes off the veggie garden with the climbing roses and weeping willow in the background. It's a beautiful vista.
Perhaps you will be able to create a moon garden in a shady spot on your new property, which has now been seamlessly blended into the old. The removal of the gravel driveway effectively erased the boundary between new and old and it all just looks like one large tract of land. Seems like the name 'new property' will be abandoned soon in favor of more specific names of individual areas, such as Versailles and the gazebo garden (soon to be the Hartley!). Those names will evolve before you know it, as your space develops. Your garden truly feeds my soul even though I don't live there. Thanks so much for the daily dose of Garden Answer. ~ Lisa
