  • What a pain it is when the hose won't come off. Mineral deposits built up and it gets stuck! Yes, that sucks. Don't call the plumber until you try this.

dont mix metals, period, at least if you are going to leave them assembled. all hose bibs are brass, so using an aluminum hose end and leaving it on, is going to galvanically corrode (weld) to the brass end. a good solution to using aluminum hose ends, is to use plastic quick connects, as they break the galvanic current issue.

You deserved BIG, BIG compliment for helping me unscrew an decade stubborn hose from a spigot. 1:30 did the trick for me. I was ready to saw it off as many recommended. You saved me time and likely a plumber's bill for an "oops!" Uh... yes... I'm subscribing to you. Thank you!

I used vinegar and a bit of bar keepers friend (because I was impatient). Thanks for keeping me from doing a supply run!

The people who engineer garden hoses will have to Account for their crimes sooner or later.

You saved me a plumber call! Used the CLR and Pam but wasn’t getting anywhere because I didn’t have proper wrenches! Got two locking jaw wrench/pliers with the curved head and got the hose off the spigot and the sprinkler head. Next purchase - quick connect couplings! Will be watching a lot of your videos here on out! Thank you!

When applying teflon tape to your host bib threads, you need to go counter clockwise and not clockwise. By going clockwise you are unthreading the Teflon tape onto itself.

hey this really worked to get the hose off. I didnt think it would ever come off, without hacksawing it off. I used the CLR, wire brush and then Pam. Thanks for the tips!!!

Water hose Nozzle Fuzed due to Hardwater. I used WD-40 and lubed the connections where the threads are. Then let it soaked for a few hours. Came back and used Dawn liquid. Then soaked the Spray nozzle in CLR and Water in a plastic tub for two days. After two weeks I used a Plumbers Wrench. The hardware crystal build up came loose. Spray Nozzle came right off. Yes use Teflon Tape.

CLR is a good tip. However, garden hose threads are not sealing threads. If the connection is leaking , your seal is not working.

Well I have expandable hose so I cant use a wrench to loosen it up.. it has a different head than a regular hose

Ugh. I had one of those hoses and went old school after it broke. Have you gotten anywhere with it?

Thanks 4 responding . No I just sprayed WD 40 two or three times and let it set.... Than it unscrewed .. almost a week later.. and the funny thing right when this all happened I threw my hacksaw away... Hacksaw I never needed to use .. bz UA-cam etc ... The last resort is to use a hacksaw.... Lol

You are to be commended for being a DIY gal. But. The “Teflon Tape” or plumber’s tape needs to go on with the direction of the threads for tightening.
