Laserbeams sweeping the air, Unity played LOUD. I was young, a bit drunk maybe that night but still almost like religious experiment. Thank you orkidea. Will not forget.
I thought I was going crazy for recognizing the vocals but finally figured it out. Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim - this song plays over the unbelievably dark/morbid ending scene of the film The Mist, based on the Steven King novel. These vocals will forever be dark, sinister, and chilling to me due to that movie/scene...and luckily, I love dark trance, so this is a mashup made in trance heaven as far as I'm concerned.
While I absolutely love Host of Seraphim, I do believe that this "remix" is more than a simple mix, it is adding a new level of athmosphere and even more importantly, of energy to the original idea. This is for travelling at the speed of light.
Definitely. Philip Glass added organ pipes to the map of contemporary music - used by many after him, from Orkidea to Hans Zimmer. In all variations it just feels like cosmic, vast, powerful.
Every Orkidea tune I've heard has been a classic. Remember this one from way back as the opening track on one of the "Forbidden Paradise" mixes. It has that beautiful "old trance" feel, with real-life tones and sounds, and organic rather than sterile synths.
Oakenfold Cream Courtyard classic from back in the day, if you were there in the late 90's then you'll understand, if you weren't then you will never understand. Ever. Forget your samples, Its ORKIDEA - UNITY
Lisa Gerrard is the haunting vocalist...listen to some of her stuff on youtube. I discovered Lisa Gerrard and Dead can Dance via an old Oakenfold record about 12 years ago. Search for Sanvean.
best Music Soundtrack at Baraka (Movie) from Ron Fricke (chapter 10 or 11!!!). See the specials on DVD....... i love it!!!! Lisa Gerard and Dead can Dance are great and ther are a lot of Remixes online like p. Oakenfold ;-)
@fuzzymaiden1 As FuzzyMaiden1 said, it was used at the end of the Mist but it has been used in a few other films too. Check out the Dead_Can_Dance_discography on Wikipedia (goddamn stupid UA-cam not letting you paste URLs!)

this isn't "Dead Can Dance - Host of Seraphim". this is "orkidea - unity". "Dead Can Dance - Host of Seraphim" may be the original but it's just vocals, there are no kicks or percussion it.
Orkidea great, but most underrated Trance DJ :/
Is greate but still lose with original remix "UNITY" 2010 !!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍

I recently did an interview with Orkidea about "Unity" because of the 20th anniversary of the track, hope you like it!

All I was thinking is that ending scene seeing those extra-dimensional creatures sweeping across the scene as it played and that heartbreaking ending.
My fave trance track.

The vocals are somewhat similar to Papua New Guinea, by FSOL
They both sample Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim
Thank you so much, I've spent ages searching for that tune and I didn't know who it was
This was played in movie Myst, I guess. I know only that I start to shiver.
yep you're right, those voices come in at the ending scene
"Host of the Seraphim" by Dead Can Dance is on the soundtrack for the film "The Mist" which was composed by Mark Isham. Have a nice day! :)

That beginning is the same as Dead Can Dance in The Mist (2007).
Trance with the boreadest meaning ..
The Mist
Orkidea. HD has nothing to do with audio quality

(He made me discover this track so i think u'll forgive me ^^)
The Mist, not The Fog
i almost want to say that anyone who makes a remix of this is stupid, how much more perfect of a song can you get?
so this is a remix of the original and to prevent any copy right he renamed it.
no becasue its better than the original
0:00-0:27 is creepy
Check out the original: Dead Can Dance - The Host of Seraphim ;)
