There is a more modern song wiith the audio clips of this woman's staggered voice clip in it but I can't remember what it was. You've played it before, it goes all quiet and her voice comes on like 6 mins in, do you know it? It's killing meeeee
I recently had the chance to sit down with Orkidea, for an in-depth interview with him about the story behind this classic! Available on my channel now ;-)
For those wondering, the vocals are sampled from Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim (1988) which you can check out in the link below. Hemstock & Jennings Vs Adam White - Reverence (2004) is another Trance track to feature these vocals (although strangely they changed the vocalist from Lisa Gerrard for the full release). 'Unity' is an absolute anthem though, and one of those I'd be inclined to dig out if asked for a track which defines Trance music. ~Daz ua-cam.com/video/7iqxzURgQWg/v-deo.html
The vocals reminded me of Future Sound of London- Papua New Guinea... so I checked but it sounded a little different. Looking into what the vocal sample was for Papua New Guinea, I found it was from Dead Can Dance but a different song (Dawn of the Iconoclast). That’s pretty cool!
@@eStick1 Just came here to say this. DCD samples were very iconic in electronic music, which is interesting considering they're not really related genres at all
I put this track on my Insta story a few months back with the caption "If you do anything today PLEASE listen to this track" whilst on my way to Manchester to see DJ IBON close The White Hotel. He played a closing set and the final closing track he played was THIS piece of magic right here. No such thing as coincidences I was on the dancefloor mind completely blown...
I ate a few mushrooms on a clear summers night a few weeks ago and when they kicked in i listened to this track on lying down on the beach looking at the stars, while the sound was a bit fuzzy over the shrooms it was like heaven, i was catapulted into the sky, the stars danced, the patterns, shapes and colours I experienced was euphoric, I never came close to it before, this track was and will forever be close to my heart.
Was it because Orkidea and Steel Fish (the label) couldn't clear the Dead Can Dance sample at first? Either way, what a shame, because the digital version that was released on the later Orkidea compilation was poorly mastered...
Next week is a show im playing and opening up and this track is the opener cannot wait to give people the chance to hear this live looking forward to get people sucked right in
I may change my mind, and I'll change it back again, then change it once more, but I am now decided. This was the most perfect trance record that I ever heard. Have heard. And will ever hear. And I feel blessed to have danced many a night away to this one....Oh the shivers.
I used to play this full blast in my parents house back when I was 15. Pretty sure I was the only one on the block who appreciated it 😂 My subwoofer cone used to go nuts during that intro.
Lost the name of this track a good while back, cheers for the upload. Nice to see the subscriptions rising back again since the previous shutdown. As always, channel is really appreciated.

Digging around on discogs someone left a comment stating where Orkidea got that haunting vocal from. Check out "Dead can dance - the host of Seraphim". Amazing piece of music (as is orkidea's track by the way)
I managed to get a copy of this recently, it's pretty rare (and thus expensive), but I had to have it as I absolutely love this track, also Solarstone's remix which kicked off the whole "pure trance" movement, be sure to check that out too.
@Trance Classics: Kudos. I have so many 12'' records from the good old days. But you always select the special ones that I never got. Keep it up. Love it. P.L.U.R. is more than words - and I know that you know, too.
1999 was the absolute peak of trance music. Modern uplifting shite is all the same, +10 saw lines buzzing filled with white noise. Back in the days it was more melodic, groovy and pure.
I’ve just discovered only 1000 copies were printed on vinyl and it’s rare as rocking horse shit. Anyone want to make me an offer for my copy of this Progressive classic?
Trance Classics A few reasons I guess. I don’t currently have decks, could do with the money, even though it’s a good track I never found it particularly good to mix with, ok for the start of a set maybe.
@@mltsr Yeah that's fair enough of course, just thinking from my own point here I guess. I could never part with this masterpiece. The fact it's pretty rare too would make me want to hold onto it even tighter. Of course if you are that hard up its maybe one of those things that is required rather than through choice. I did the same with half my CD's many years back (just struggling for money at the time) and regretted ever since.
Trance Classics Yes I can fully understand where you’re coming from too. I used to have a massive collection of CD’s and vinyl and have slowly sold bits off. What I’ve got left though are some of the best tracks going and also sequence well in a set. I know it all comes down to personal choice but off the top of my head I can think of much better tracks than this Bedrock - Set in Stone, Digital Blondes - Antheum, Origin - Acushla, BT - Delphinium Days for example. Be good to hear some of your favourites.

One of the most BEAUTIFUL & AWESOME track of all time ... Big THANKS from my 🖤 RESPECT & LOVE from SERBIA ... 🕊️👏💪😎🇷🇸🙏🎧🌊🧠

Lucky enough to have owned this since 99 stone cold classic track the golden era of trance
Oakie - Homelands ‘99. Absolute masterpiece
Also played by sasha nye
1998 alexandra Palace which runs rings around the oakenfold set
Tune tingling trance at its best
With so many great tracks from this era, this one stands alone…epic to this day…has lived in my head since I heard it
Hands down the greatest channel on UA-cam.

The most representative example of "Don't judge a book by its cover"!
goosebumps.. ✨😌

"The dead can dance" as sampled. What an awesome tune...
Thank you for this. I just subbed. I miss the old days. Rip trance
rip trance?? there is many ppl that do music like that yet or atleast play,
dude. just do strong re-search, lol
I hear you. Just saying it’s not like the old days. 98-2001 were my favorite years
Definitely an icon track with those gated vocals! Beautiful and classic indeed, ❤

It’s also used on ‘Papua New Guinea’ 😉

7:54 i love this music!!
Maravillosa canción 🤩
This an absolute pearl by Mr Orkidea but Solarstone made it become a masterpiece, in my opinion of course. Talent at ita pure state I would say…
Trance very good yes
what a incredible song :O
Tear to my eye. Thank you.
Композиция которая рвёт душу!!! Лучшая на все времена!
Grande disco 🥂👌🎧
Wow ❤❤❤❤ the mist la película

Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance)-The host of Seraphim ❤
@@Luka-v3k fratello un viaggione ....lei sempre INFINITA.....😱❤️😳
Fsol - The Future Sound of London - Papua New Guinea 92 ❤️
Epic tune
Start of Sasha at Alexander Palace 31.12.1998. Shame you can't get it for less than£150 on 12 inch!
Shame Orkidea couldn't fully clear the DCD sample, which probably led to the very limited vinyl release! Great tune though!
Finnish power!
Massive tune for it being from 99
99 was the greatest year of trance.
@Nick Pryke And 2000. Honestly, the only thing limiting this track's success was its very limited vinyl release, likely due to the DCD sample.

reminds be a bit of Unity without words from Scooter
yes yes yes this is what i want...
Your welcome
tune is rise my cool blue side up 😅
Absolute Epic Of A Tune :))
Real classic! Thanks!
Wonder if the vocal was taken from papa New Guinea? not heard this before 👍
sample Dead Can dance - The host of seraphim
Sounds like them tho
... Υ Μ Ν Ο Σ !!! ...
God bless you man! :)
Big with Paul Oakenfold
He should've been the face of Finnish trance rather than Darude tbh
papua new guinea?????
Similar, but it's from Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim
@@TranceClassicsOfficial aha i see my friend its so wonderful track!!!!!
Anyone know the name of the really solid remix of the girls voice in this song?
Probably from Future Sound Of London - Papua New Guinea (1991)
But it's from another different track.
Its a song from the band Dead Can Dance. Dead Can Dance - The Host of Seraphim.
whopper
Whats the deal with this song and Hydro - Utopia.... They sound almost identical?
A porn video just reminded me of this classic. Now I have an urge to register just to make a comment with the track name lmao
Psy trance, o Progressive trance
It's not Psy Trance...it's simply Trance, and fucking epic Trance at that :)
