Please can you keep on showing us your library when you have the time. I love this series. I made a list of books that intrigued me to read from just your channel. So far I’ve read Piranesi and Kristin Lavransdatter and really liked them. Especially Kristin Lavransdatter since it’s a book I never heard of in my world despite it being a worthy recognized book from a very talented author as you say in your video. When I search book recommendation from most academic book tubers, they tend to be more or less the same books mentioned over and over again-The Illiad, The Odyssey, Jane Austen, etc. Obviously these books should not be disregarded but I do think they tend to overshadow the many more books there are out there in the world of equal worth. Kristin Lavransdatter was a breath of fresh air.
I think that just shows that the majority of book influencers are only reading the common, typical recommendations. And they’re not really pursing higher book goals.
Congratulations to your family Autumn! What you say is absolutely true! We have 9 children and there are definitely seasons in our lives! Sometimes we can do intense and other times it is not as intense and might involve our children. Good for you for giving yourself grace!❤
I love your handle: Super Mother of Chaos. I've read moms of 4+ self-report more happiness than 3- and part of the theory is they've given themselves over to the chaos and learned to embrace it!
@@thecommonplacehomeschool have you heard of the book Hannah’s Children? The authors interviews moms of 5+, and the testimonies are fascinating. This idea came up that adjusting to first, second, and third children were the hardest, even with quite large families. I think the expectations just shift at a certain point.
Thank you, Becca! We're officially starting a 12-week course on Beauty within Common House (led by a member, Taylor D'Amico; we're all so excited!) to kick off the 2025 year!
I began studying and reading as well, but I found out we were pregnant with our 5th mid-year, and it’s definitely been the hardest pregnancy so far. It’s been humbling to accept my limitations. 😅 We’re also expecting early next year. Congrats, Autumn!
Congratulations to you! And I do think the best thing to do is to accept the gift of humility and let it work its way in us. Hoping you experience some peace and reprieve in this final stretch!
Congrats Autumn! We also have 4 kids and the 4th was just the biggest blessing. The transition was the easiest for me. I was a much more confident mother and the kids were so helpful. Best wishes to you and your family.
Hi Autumn. I appreciate your grace in how you’ve walked through Mother Academia this year. I continue to be inspired by what you share and pray you have a beautiful Christmas and remainder of your pregnancy. Thank you.
Nice to get a check-in! I haven’t been super regular on YT, so I missed the pregnancy announcement. Congratulations to you and your family! On describing each book, please continue to do so! I think it would be a shame to be shown books and not get at least a little blurb. It’s what we’re here for!
Ha! This is the joy of the internet: you can find your likeminded pockets. In general life, people don't want me to gab forever about books. But here? In book land, we all want to!
I was near the end of my pregnancy when you started Mother Academia, and I was very optimistic at the time 😂 I’m such a slow reader already, so I let it go. I’ve never been good with disciplining myself, and I want to change that
I failed miserably 😂 - got a lot of books with intent to read and learn etc. but I was pregnant and had a baby and it was my fourth in 5 years so I’m busy ugh maybe next year!
@ haha 🤣 no clue! Probably cause I’m so busy with all these littles! I have big dreams to have a UA-cam channel someday around homeschool but instead I just binge watch UA-cam between chasing and feeding kiddos.
Congratulations! I made a list for the first time ever. I finished everything but the Illiad. I might still finish it. I might not. I also read several extra books that you recommended. For Latin: did you know Clamavi de Profundus has several Latin Christmas Carroll's in their channel?
I didn't use audiobooks for my Mother Academia readings (some were too dense for me to follow with audio) but I do love audiobooks! Usually for novels.
Hello Allie! I'm in the mushy middle lands, I suppose. I went back to a flip phone after the Light phone and then tried a Sleke phone (but it's still in beta testing)!
Awesome to hear you're pushing on with the pursuit of digital minimalism! I am awaiting my Light Phone in the mail. Excited to feel more free. Happy Holidays ✨️
Congratulations on your fourth baby! 🥹🎉 That Jane Austen class sounds so interesting! I’m so encouraged by your flexibility with Mother Academia and completely understand bristling at anything “required” (even self- required) 😂 I just got Reclaiming Quiet in the mail yesterday and can’t wait to end the year with her ideas 😄 Happy Reading!

Have you nabbed a copy of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell yet?! (It's like Jane Austen and Brothers Grimm had a baby!)

Praying for you and this pregnancy, love your content-the depth and humility a lovely and rare combination.

I wish I had a house full of children. (Exhausting though it may be.) And your screen name is so great, LOL!

Looking forward to mother academia in 2025.

Well done to you! I love hearing how others enjoyed their literary lives this year.
I didn't know of that one! Thank you!
Great encouragement, super mom, and congratulations!
Thank you so much!
Do you always read the physical book or do you ever use audiobooks? Thanks 😊

Pregnant Autumn is spicy! 🤣
Hahah! She might be!
Hi Autumn! I’m craving an update about your phone use. Are you back to a smartphone? Are you using a basic phone? Thanks! Love your channel

I did not. Went with the cheaper option for now-- had some sticker shock when I looked into the 3 🤯
