It’s because of Sue Becker that I started milling my grains over a decade ago. So appreciative for her because now it’s what I teach about here on UA-cam! So glad to see more people hear this message and get back to food the way God created it to be - especially with real whole grains!!
Awesome! Just subbed! I’m curious if a mill is better than just using a blender. I put my spelt berries in my Vita Mix and make flour that way, and it comes out great! 😊
@@PeaceIsJesusChrist a mill is definitely better than a blender. I used to blend mine in my Vitamix as well, but I am so happy I made the purchase to get a mill, in fact, I have three mills, one being manual and two being electric, one impact and one stone. You can’t go wrong milling your own grains getting back to the original plan of the Bible is the only way to have health.
@@goyethere4 Oh thank you for sharing that!! Can you briefly say why a mill is better? I love my Vita Mix, but I’d consider a mill if it has considerable healthy and taste benefits though!! Happy New Year!! 🎆🎊🎈
I'm 35, and right around 2000, about age 10, I vaguely remember my mom really getting into whole grains. She bought a grain mill (an old Whisper Mill that definitely doesn't whisper) and a Zoijurushi bread machine. I have memories of driving out to what felt like the middle of nowhere at weird hours to pick up bulk grain orders. Fast forward, about 25 years, and I have since inherited my mom's old bread machine and mill after she passed. I love the old machines and they make great bread. I've been wanting to switch over to whole grain for a couple of months. This podcast must have been a sign, because when Sue mentioned her little red book and starting up Bread Beckers in the 90s, I was like, "No way. This is probably who my mom was learning this stuff from years ago." I just found that same red book in my moms cookbooks. It felt like a hug from my mom. So, anyway, I loved the podcast, and I'm excited to get into making our whole grain breads/desserts/etc. regularly as well.
Sue Becker would absolutely love this story. Hope she sees this comment. I go to Bread Beckers regularly (it’s local to me), maybe I can tell her to read the comments here.
Thanks to sue and her “bread of life” presentation, we began milling 4 years ago. My son had SEVERE GI issues, and no doctors could figure out what was wrong with him. Switched to whole grains and he was HEALED almost overnight. Thank you for this interview!
I found Sue Becker on youtube about a year ago. I ordered my mill and whole grains and began making my own bread. I m 70 years old with a multitude of health issues, and I found relief. I recently had a test to see if my heart was becoming clogged, as my cholesterol is off the roof. My doctor was amazed that I had practically no blockages at all. I attribute it to the bread.
I’ve actually had the pleasure to meet Sue Becker in person once! I’m a Georgia local and happened to go into her store to purchase wheat berries and lo and behold there she was talking to the cashier that was checking me out and all of a sudden started talking to me too, she really is a sweet person in real life just very talkative and friendly personality!
I started milling my own wheat after hours of Sue Becker YT classes. We make pizza usually once a week, but last night my husband was given a gift card to a local pizza place, so I brought it home. 4 of our 5 kids had digestive issues last night, having to immediately leave the table. This podcast, along with our experience last night is a fabulous reminder of why I turned to milling in the first place. Thanks ladies!
I have been watching some of these anti grain doctors for almost a year now and I always keep going back to the bible…. My HEART says “the closer to the way God made it the better it is for us.” Then add the season you harvest it and find it as close to home as possible. But until this interview I didn’t think I could have bread AND a healthy lifestyle. You even explained GMO vs hybridized… THANK YOU for that! I miss bread so much…. Well not any more. Thank you for pulling scripture and bread science together! God bless you both, here I COME.
Here is my Bread Beckers story😂 I am in the Atlanta area, so Im local to her store. I purchased a grain mill in 2020 and preceded to never use it for 2 years. I did not know what to do, all the videos I saw seemed so complicated. So I just didn't do anything. I thought if my husband knew what this mill cost😂 and me not using it. My friend at church told me about Bread Beckers. I had not heard of Bread Beckers before. I call myself real food savy, so I was surprised to here of a real food store, I hadn't heard of. I went to the store, I purchased here red reecipe book, different grains to make a mix, bread making supplies, and a bread maker. They were so helpful at the store. I used her basic bread recipe, and I have been making freshly milled bread ever since.
Yes, you've outdone yourself with this one, Lisa ❤ I bought a Wondermill, Sue's book & 5# of hard red wheat. I'm putting this new information to the test! BTW I also bought the Bible book. That's a revelation too.
I’m just 12 minutes in to this podcast and I’m in awe! I have been saying this “remake” of our flour has been the culprit of so many diseases that plague us today!
I am so glad that you have provided this podcast with Sue Becker. I have been gluten free for nearly 20 years now. Gluten consumption puts me down for a week. Immediately my pain is excruciating. Last year I was experimenting with milling my own red berry wheat bread and it was ok but it was a lot of work and took way too much time! I easily went back to purchasing gf flour for my baking needs. I miss making sour dough bread from my pre gf diet began. The red berry bread was easy on my digestive track but still did not bring me the happy pleasant feeling I got when my old bread came out perfect-I missed that! Recently I ordered a few other flours sorghum and millet to try that blend. This podcast has confirmed what God has been whispering to me that it is not gluten but the altered flour on the market! This is confirmation what He has been whispering to me! Again, thank you for this podcast! I can almost feel my spirit feeling lifted and being hopeful I will once again obtain the opportunity to enjoy bread making and eating it myself, and being able to share my baking with others again!
I feel like I’m having an awakening listening to your podcasts this week! I just listened to the episode about cookware and now here… 🤯 idk where I’m going to start, but I’m cleaning up my kitchen and pantry!
This podcast has been mind altering for me! Thank you for having Sue Becker on here! I have been gluten free 10 yrs due to health issues and am now a mystery patient to my doctors. I was just getting stocked up to start making sourdough and cooking with whole home ground wheat. I will be listening again and taking notes.
I was gluten free for four years before finding Sue and my life has been completely changed since milling my own flour! I have Graves’ disease and my thyroid is functioning normally without medication! I can eat tomatoes and dairy and beans no problem! And I had an incredible pregnancy with sustainable energy levels, blood sugar and no nausea or food aversions 😮 I’m so grateful for her message and I can’t wait to see what Lisa comes out with as far as whole grain sourdough goes. That’s my next step ❤❤❤ you go, Lynn! Do what you need to do to get a grain mill
@@McKennaRosenis there anything you did besides milling that helped with your thyroid? I’m dealing with Hashimoto and for 3 years have been making everything from scratch and I do mill my grains and make kefir, kombucha, allllll the things and I’m not seeing results.
@@PaulTim73 Sorry to hear that! Have you tried taking thyroid glandular? Standard Process Thytrophin PMG gives your body what it needs rebuild your thyroid.
@ I wish I could tell you something different but that’s literally all I’ve done. Barbara O’Neill recommends doing cayenne pepper packs over your thyroid to stimulate it! I technically have the genetic markers for hashimotos as well but it’s not active in my body. Have you tried whole grain sourdough?
Sue Becker has changed my life! She has shared so much valuable information through her videos (all free on UA-cam). I have also purchased MANY of her live cooking classes available from her site. She is just amazing.
I’ve been waiting for this interview! I discovered sue during my first pregnancy and started milling my own grains within a few days. It has been, by far, the best thing I’ve done for the health of me and my family.
I’m crying with joy that you have found sue becker and are having you on your show. I love her and learned so much from her. (I pray they give her a voice is maha) send her links to rfk and tell him about her message
Love Sue Becker! Began milling wheat in the late 1990’s because of her! Thanks for having her on your podcast, Lisa!! I always learn something new from her.
This podcast changed my life! Literally changed my life. I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to this whole concept. God bless you! Now milling all my grain!
“You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart.“ Psalm 104:14-15
I never tire of listening to Sue! I found her via Divine Guidance on YT about 1.5 years ago. It changed the way I bake immediately. I'm so thankful I can nourish my family the way God intended his grains to be used.
Sue's passionate message has been such a blessing. I'm getting on the freshly-milled journey late in life, but my grown children and grandchildren are now the recipients of this amazing bread. I've found a new mission. Thank you both for continuing to promote this truth!
One of the best episodes for today’s listeners! Finished listening and ate some freshly made bread! This is a serious issue many people do NOT realize we are facing. So thankful for Lisa and Sue shedding light on it!
I am on here to tell you this morning I made blueberry waffles with hard red wheat berries for the first time ever!!! It is now the afternoon and I have no more runny nose, no more cough with flem, no more fatigue, and I have not used my inhaler since I woke up this morning!!! I was only able to eat mostly meat, eggs, bacon, chicken, peanut butter, almonds and almond flour and a few other things. Sometimes I would eat something but it would cause fatigue , dizzyness, water in my ear and upset stomach. I ate 2 1/2 waffels with butter and maple syrup... so good!!! No upset stomach and no bloating and no burping. I heard this and I knew right away that this was for me. THANK YOU to both of you!!! I just made a loaf of bread and it is cooling off...cant wait to try it!!! WOOOHOOO!!! So happy oh and I quit going to doctors 6 years ago so this is my answer that I have been waiting for!!!
Lisa! Thank you SO much for this introduction to Sue Becker! Just when I think I’ve researched everything to death, you’ve introduced me to something new. I’ve always felt in my gut that God put all these on the earth for our food, medicine, etc., why in the world are we avoiding SO many of them? This video clearly confirmed that it is our bastardization of those foods/medicines that has gotten us into so much trouble. God bless you both for such an important episode ❤
My kids and I have been studying the 1800’s for two years now as our history course and I’ve been wondering what happened when people went to literally living on just bread to not, apparently, been able to eat it at all today. This makes a lot of sense. I still want to keep making sourdough and soaking/sprouting/fermenting grains and beans.
Lisa, first off, I would like to say this is one of my favorite interviews so far. However, I was hoping the two of you would touch on feeding fresh milled flour to your sourdough starter. I'm not sure if you have talked about this in other videos I have yet to watch. I have been using sourdough starter exclusively for 5 years now and I thoroughly enjoy the entire process. I haven't used conventional yeast since starting my sourdough journey. I would love a video or some thoughts on this subject. Thank you for all you do. Every video is a delight and always so joyful and peaceful.
Been milling whole grains since 1994 because of hearing Sue Becker at a Home school conference. Have taken many of her classes and learned something new each time. So happy to hear this interview.
This is so exciting to me! The Lord showed me Dr. Russell's book when I began our health journey years ago. The nutrition world can be so confusing as you all mentioned. Dr. Russell's 3 simple principles made so much sense. I have shared his book with many. We heard Sue Becker at a homeschooling conference in Knoxville, TN decades ago. We bought our first mill and ordered wheat. We love our homemade bread. This podcast has been amazing. Thank you so much for doing this.
For people looking for sources for various varieties of wheat berries, I have had really good results from Azure ( they are currently out of organic hard white wheat berries and flour), Amazon, and Granite Mill farms for organic Spelt, Kamut, Hard red and white wheat berries, soft White Wheat berries (for biscuits, quick breads, etc. or to use in gravies and breading meats), Sprouted Red Fife, and Einkorn. I always purchase only organic and have always received clean and delicious grains from these companies. By the way, whole wheat berries of any type make a fantastic substitute for rice and cook quickly in an Instant Pot.
I'm just starting my whole wheat education. Thank you for the tip about using wheat berries to replace rice. I don't eat rice, but maybe I'll try the berries.
I started milling and making all our baked goods, ( but with store bought flour) because of Sue Becker and Bread Beckers. I've always cooked and baked for my family but not until age 66 did I learn the incredible benefits of fresh milled flour. Now I'm baking for my husband, our grown children and our grandson. I'm so grateful I was led to watch Sue's video that showed up on my feed, then imagine how happy I was to find out the retail store and classes were only 1 1/2 hours from my home in Georgia.
We’ve been milling whole grains and making most of our bread products for almost a decade and I remember at the beginning we made some cinnamon rolls for someone and they took one bite and was instantly disgusted and said “is that whole wheat?!?” Bahaha. I love the taste. And it makes me feel full.
Wow i watched this video and then found all of Sue's content on UA-cam. She's a rockstar in my opinion. Thanks so much for your conversation with her! I love this podcast.
Many, many years ago my husband and I attended a seminar with Sue Becker and Dr. Russell. It was so eye-opening. I still have his book. We're fortunate that the Bread Beckers store is only about 45 minutes away. I've had one of those red recipe books for a very long time.
I had never heard of her before now. But I love Lisa, & am excited at seeing my lifestyle being featured. My husband got me a No. 99 Grain Maker Mill and I ground all our flour manually for the last few years. No AP. No store bought grain products. We have no health issues or allergies, I just felt like it was best to know what we were eating. Thank you for justifying all the work I’ve done revising my tried and true AP recipes into FMF. Thank you lastly for educating the masses on the multitude of benefits of FMF. I hope before long this is the norm! PSA: It’s ok to work a little harder than you “have to” to do things, you may even find you like the challenge! I know I do!
I'm so glad she addressed the myth about beans/ grains/phytic acid. So many people are afraid to eat beans even though they are one of the healthiest foods on the planet!
My husband has been anti-bread for years. It didn’t take much to win him to freshly milled flour (FMF)! Now, he’ll eat my spelt tortillas and rye bread! He loves those...and they haven’t affected our blood sugar levels!!! We’re in the safe zone there.
Ooh, please start sharing even more recipes using fmf!! I've been milling for a little over a year now, after also hearing Sue talk about the benefits. I haven't found time to figure out all the ways of using it with sourdough. So I'll be stalking your channel hoping for some tips and tricks(I already watch faithfully 😊)
I am so glad that you are having her on your show. I found her while laid up after being ran over in carjacked in my driveway while pregnant my son was kidnapped. I binge watched all her stuff my two favorite bread makers together.🙏🏻❤️❤️✨

Thank you! Sue Becker is how i got my start. I make her recipes weekly. Im so glad youre making thr switch. I would love if you did a sourdough cookbook with fresh milled flour.
Yes! I purchased her new book, and now I need someone to help me convert and hold my hand and use this flour for this recipe. Going to have to listen again and take notes towards the end.

A friend Chelsea Reynolds introduced me to her talk, "Sue Becker- Bread Of LIFE" on YT years ago. Mind blowing info🤯🤯. I love how she points out Jesus IS the Bread of LIFE! "Give us today our DAILY bread"❤❤ freshly milled whole intact grains still have literal LIFE in the wheat berry 🌾 nothing like it! Thank you Sue for sharing your knowledge freely 🙏🙏
Love Chelsea Reynolds! She introduced me to Sue Becker as well, though just through UA-cam. I haven’t been blessed to meet Chelsea in person, though I was able to meet Nathan at the Take on the world conference a few years ago.
I dont know where to begin. I have tried doing Trim Healthy Mama and cutting grains out of my diet. Ive watched many Christian UA-camrs who are cooking their family wonderful meals but will not eat it themselves because they are doing Carnivore or Keto. I have been tempted to stop all social media. What has happened to the Body of Christ and eating the good foods that He gave us? I came across this vedeo and was so blessed to watch and listen. Ive been praying over how to feed my body and my husband. We have 1 teen left at home. We have eaten fairly well but with all the media saying this is wrong, or this is wrong and even in the Christian community saying carbs are wrong and only Carnivore is good, im done. Im very thankful to gind this video and it brings hope there are other women who are not falling into the diet rut but pursuing sound nutrition.
This video has really blown my mind. Thank you Lisa for having her on your show. I’m a mum of a 2yo and newborn and am on the journey of holistic, healthier living. These videos and information you share is so good for beginners like me. ❤
How cool. I learned about sourdough from Lisa and stumbled upon Sue Becker about a month ago. Great to see you two together and I’m excited to see more FMF content from the Farmhouse. I don’t care if the pictures aren’t as pretty. 😉
Wow… this was so informative. I switched from store breads to sourdough for my family’s health and have seen an improvement. I purchased a mill several months ago and grains from Azure to take it to the next level but have been scared to mess up measurements and how fine to mill it, etc. This has greatly encouraged me to take the next step…. We are all negative MTHFR and this explained sooo much! So so helpful. Thank you, Lisa! 🙏🏻🙌🏻
I am a new subscriber! I am 31 years old. I just bought my mill, and i have baked cinnamon rolls and challah bread. Wow, WHAT a DIFFERENCE! And so delicious and healthy!
We also raised our three children without many doctors. I think all that we had was one broken arm, stitches, and a measles appointment. We kept it simple. During that time, we had no white flour, no white sugar, and very little meat. We had whole grains, fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts.
Very informative. I have been thinking about purchasing a grain mill for a while now. This video has made up my mind for me. Thank you. By the way I love the new old house. Have a very happy holiday.
I’ve always said it’s not the wheat or the food, it’s what’s been done to the food. We’ve been consuming grains since the dawn of time. How in the world did we see all these health issues and gluten intolerances in the past 20 years? I can’t consume conventional wheat but have been fine eating my own sourdough. This year I got a grain mill for Christmas, and I’m getting my own wheat berries from Azure Standard. I’m so excited to dive into making all our own wheat products! We also live 90 minutes away from Bread Beckers and would love to visit someday! This is my favorite episode I’m listening to it for a 2nd time. ❤
Great discussion! Love both you ladies! I started milling my own flour about 6 months ago after watching Only Real Bread, Staff of Life. I have already seen many benefits including digestive health and thicker hair! Since menopause my hair had gotten so thin it was embarrassing. Now it's almost back to the normal thickness. And I tried lots of things to make it grow back. Nothing worked except the bread! Happy baking and Merry Christmas!
Thank you for this conversation! From the bottom of my heart… I had linked flour products to my asthma episodes but now I understand the why!!! How exciting to test it out, I’ve had a mill and loved baking bread with a mix of store brand flours and milled for the family in the past but avoided it for myself We are enjoying our 1st loaf (hard red wheat with spelt) and as mentioned the gut is happy and so far I’ve had no asthma episodes I’m cautiously optimistic planning to stay the course for a month eating 2slices each day. Another bonus this bread gives a sense of fullness I could never get on a vegan program
I saw one of your videos about your mill and it intrigued me so I started researching and found Sue’s videos. We don’t use any store bought flour anymore. We love fresh milled baked goods!
Thank you for sharing this, Lisa. You wield tremendous influence in this sphere, and I’m glad you’re using it here. Making bread the way God designed it just makes sense. Now, I’m no where near diabetes. Hallelujah!
Joel Salatin talks about how the hybridization of wheat causing the stalks to be shorter thus Maximizing the grain size has made the potential for gluten development to be higher. Less straw is needed today since we don't need It for animal bedding now that we have tractors. I hear what Sue is saying, but I still I'm not 100% sold on the actual nutritional need for whole grains. I agree that if you're going to eat wheat, it should be whole-grain. But she had said "need "a few times in this interview and I just don't think that's the case. I think we can get these vitamins and minerals from other more bioavailable sources. Overall a very interesting conversation l
@@brendakordik8411keep researching. Look at folks the past 100 years, or now maybe 150. They ate their own bread, and less body issues. This generation has villainized where/flour and bread.
@@BossmansmamaI thought she had breast cancer 20 years ago or so. Sometimes "bad genes" are gonna get you, no matter what, but like Suzanne Summers, if you can live a vibrant, energized life regardless (she died at 77) a cancer diagnosis doesn't negate her message.
My concern for wheat berries is their storage in silos. It is my understanding that moisture forms and then the wheat berries have fungus. Doug Kaufmann, of Know the Cause, had done many years of research that has shown him that fungus affecting the wheat berries and other grains has become a huge health problem. I wish Sue would speak to that issue. That is my only concern about grains. From what I can find out, in the Old Testament, wheat was stored in baskets.
Thanks for sharing this valuable information! At age 72, I’m learning how to mill & bake with whole grains. I was raised on a grain farm & always wondered why my mother bought flour from the store! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦🌻

I have been sharing over on my other UA-cam channel...recently two videos making recipes with all fresh milled. I shared this week on my instagram stories too...that was my whole wheat sandwich bread with all FMF an egg and extra 1/4 cup honey. Turns out wonderful every time
I have two cousins with gluten issues, but one bakes and makes so much by hand (I think she started to because of her gluten allergy issues), but I am really surprised that she wouldn't know this (she's a bit crunchy like I am). This was so informative and awesome to listen to! What wisdom.

This video has such a potential to be life-changing and I can’t wait to get started. I’ve watched you Lisa for so many years and i saw you mill your grain, but I didn’t know “why”. Unless I forgot, I don’t remember you ever telling us the health benefits like Sue talks about. You have a great platform. I would’ve loved to know this five years ago. I just watched you do your thing and still didn’t know why. Unfortunately, many of us just haven’t heard. Thanks for having her on your podcast!
This was very inspiring. I have been making my own sourdough for several years with organic shop bought flour, generally a 50/50 ratio of white to wholegrain. Now I really want to mill my own! The other day I had run out of bread and out of desperation bought a loaf of 'sourdough' from our local shop. The smell whilst it was in the toaster was revolting. I checked the packet, it was gluten free and had about 15 ingredients. I had to chuck the whole packet!
I love that you had Sue on the podcast! She’s my favourite 😊. I’ve been following her for around 14 years now. I do a lot of whole grain baking, but I still have organic all purpose on hand. I would like to cut out most of it.
I've been milling my own grains for 2 years. We didn't experience major health changes. But, we did notice that our kids stayed fuller longer and were less snacky. After our last baby was born, we had a lot of store bought bread and the kids were hungrier and crankier. I was spending way more time getting them extra snacks. Also, my husband and I tracked our blood sugar for awhile and my freshly milled bread does not spike it much at all versus regular bread, which spiked it as much as eating higher glycemic foods like rice or corn. So I can see how it would be helpful to eat it to avoid diabetes.
I’ve been eating more holistically for about a year now including lots of whole grains. My blood work has drastically improved…with no diabetes in sight! Thank You, Lord.
So glad to have found another podcast and lo and behold it’s my favorite, Sue Becker! Listened to one of her podcasts with Jennifer McIntyre and it changed my life… ordered the womdermill, Zo bread machine, wheat berries and have t looked back! Started in October. Had my thyroid labs done and for the first time ever the PA reduced my dosage! She wanted to know all about FMF and I took her a loaf today!

I love this!
Yes i feel the same
👍 Agreed
You won’t regret it!
Right behind you!
I bet your husband wouldn't bat an eye now.
My husband & I just ordered a grain mill, thank you for this conversation Lisa & Sue ❤️
I’m 66 years old and this podcast is life-changing. Your best ever! Thank you and Sue 🙏
Just noticed your name.. my maiden name was Bontrager!!
@@McKennaRosenis there anything you did besides milling that helped with your thyroid? I’m dealing with Hashimoto and for 3 years have been making everything from scratch and I do mill my grains and make kefir, kombucha, allllll the things and I’m not seeing results.
@@PaulTim73
Sorry to hear that!
Love Sue. I heard her at a homeschool conference 23 years ago, bought my mill (which I’m still using) and my supplies and haven’t looked back.
I’m crying with joy that you have found sue becker and are having you on your show. I love her and learned so much from her. (I pray they give her a voice is maha) send her links to rfk and tell him about her message
My favorite part is that we should eat bread!!!❤
Love Sue Becker! Began milling wheat in the late 1990’s because of her! Thanks for having her on your podcast, Lisa!! I always learn something new from her.
This podcast changed my life! Literally changed my life. I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to this whole concept. God bless you! Now milling all my grain!
“You cause the grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine
and bread to strengthen man's heart.“
Psalm 104:14-15
That’s amazing! I’m so happy for you 🥰 May God bless you!
I have shared on some recent videos....I do feed my starter fresh milled flour!
Two amazing ladies chatting about one of my favorite topics! I love Sue’s Essential Home Ground Flour Book, every recipe I’ve made has been great.
Thank you for this information!
Thank you for sharing that! In the case of no instant pot, can a crock pot be used and can you give me a direction to look for how?
YES! Love Sue, she's the reason I started milling my own flour over a year ago!
This podcast was a complete mind blower. Where the heck have I been? Thank you so much ! God Bless ❤🙏
My thoughts, exactly!!!
SUe is such a wealth of information. I love her book....love listening to her ..... She is so good to share all of her knowledge.
How wonderful! Thanks for sharing with us....such a bonus to be near driving distance too....
Yay!!! I am so excited for this! These two ladies are the reason we have homemade bread from freshly milled wheat in our home.❤❤❤
Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’ve been moving in this direction anyway. Now to go talk my husbands ear off 😂
Most relatable last sentence 😂
Just did the same and my husband is annoyed to the point of just giving in😂….
Honey…I need a grain mill 😂😂😂
My husband has been anti-bread for years. It didn’t take much to win him to freshly milled flour (FMF)! Now, he’ll eat my spelt tortillas and rye bread! He loves those...and they haven’t affected our blood sugar levels!!! We’re in the safe zone there.
Hahaha truth
Ooh, please start sharing even more recipes using fmf!! I've been milling for a little over a year now, after also hearing Sue talk about the benefits. I haven't found time to figure out all the ways of using it with sourdough. So I'll be stalking your channel hoping for some tips and tricks(I already watch faithfully 😊)
Lisa's book, Daily Sour Dough, is on sale now! It has a chapter on grains, beautiful pictures and recipes using milled grains.
@ceegee6625 yes I bought it as soon as it came out!! 💓
I am so glad that you are having her on your show. I found her while laid up after being ran over in carjacked in my driveway while pregnant my son was kidnapped. I binge watched all her stuff my two favorite bread makers together.🙏🏻❤️❤️✨
I made a trip to visit Sue Becker last year at Bread Beckers and she's so awesome! We spoke for a bit before she started her class. So knowledgeable and sweet!
I agree! I’ve been grinding grains for 20 years.
I have recently shared on my other UA-cam channel Farmhouse on Boone....making several recipes from my book with all fresh milled flour. I have had great results and will continue to share
Yes!! I've been waiting for this one!! Thank you Lisa, I have shared with family also ❤

Absolutely love this conversation! Thank you for the wealth of information!!
Thank you, Lisa, for this amazing podcast. You really got me thinking even though I already cook from scratch. ❤
Thank you for this great information, much appreciated.
Super informative!! Now saving up for a food mill!
This is amazing info! Thank you, both!❤
Very informative.
From the bottom of my heart…
I had linked flour products to my asthma episodes but now I understand the why!!!
How exciting to test it out, I’ve had a mill and loved baking bread with a mix of store brand flours and milled for the family in the past but avoided it for myself
We are enjoying our 1st loaf (hard red wheat with spelt) and as mentioned the gut is happy and so far I’ve had no asthma episodes I’m cautiously optimistic planning to stay the course for a month eating 2slices each day. Another bonus this bread gives a sense of fullness I could never get on a vegan program
I've been on the fence about getting a grain mill for months and after watching this, I'm sold! Thank you!
Just wondering which grain mill you are thinking of buying. I’ve started looking but a bit overwhelmed by the choice. TIA
I saw one of your videos about your mill and it intrigued me so I started researching and found Sue’s videos. We don’t use any store bought flour anymore. We love fresh milled baked goods!
So interesting. Thank you for sharing this information.
Yes !I was so looking forward to this, Loved this episode!
I agree with you. I'm not convinced we need grains in our diet. There's a lot of conflicting data on this subject.
@@brendakordik8411keep researching. Look at folks the past 100 years, or now maybe 150. They ate their own bread, and less body issues. This generation has villainized where/flour and bread.
What about Sue’s colon cancer?
This is a life changing podcast. I love this discussion. I was already researching milling my own grains. Thank you thank you! Perfect timing.
Thanks for sharing this valuable information! At age 72, I’m learning how to mill & bake with whole grains. I was raised on a grain farm & always wondered why my mother bought flour from the store! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦🌻
This is incredible! Even the way she offers ideas for efficiency in baking is incredible! My husband and I are considering making the switch. Trying to figure it out financially. Thank you so much!!!
Great content. I got some questions answered. Also, I love the home school conventions! They are super motivational.
Oh my! I had no idea! This makes so much sense now. Thank you, both for this podcast.
I love this
I love both of these ladies and was so excited to see them together on this podcast.
This was great! I need to incorporate millet into my bread. I'd forgotten about how much I really like it. Excellent podcast.
Lisa, will you be showing us how to convert your recipes in Daily Sourdough to fresh milled flour? That would be awesome!
Yes, please! Some kind of booklet or addendum for folks who have purchased the book with general guidelines?
I have been sharing over on my other UA-cam channel...recently two videos making recipes with all fresh milled. I shared this week on my instagram stories too...that was my whole wheat sandwich bread with all FMF an egg and extra 1/4 cup honey. Turns out wonderful every time
@@Simplefarmhouselifethank you!
I have two cousins with gluten issues, but one bakes and makes so much by hand (I think she started to because of her gluten allergy issues), but I am really surprised that she wouldn't know this (she's a bit crunchy like I am). This was so informative and awesome to listen to! What wisdom.
I made Sue Becker's Mexican cornbread today and it was the best cornbread I've ever made!
10:49 My question is, can these problems be reversed by switching to whole grains, or is it like once you have them, the damage is done?
I’ve been to one of Sue’s classes and I loved it. Unfortunately I’m allergic to something in freshly ground wheat, but it was the best 😋
You brought Sue Becker on here!!! ❤ How wonderful!!! I'm waiting for my grains from their coop.
Thanks for all you do on your podcast and main channel. ❤
Yay!!! I’m so excited to hear this!
I started milling in October. I went to Bread Beckers and got all that I needed!! 😍
Love it!!
I am just learning of all the health benefits which is why I had her on the podcast.
Wow! Thank you so much for this info!!!!
So much info. I’m gonna listen many times and now take notes.
What a blessing!
Glad it was helpful!
Sue Becker is the sweetest 🥰
I just learned about Sue Becker about a month ago and now I see her everywhere. That's pretty cool.
I love that you had Sue on the podcast! She’s my favourite 😊. I’ve been following her for around 14 years now. I do a lot of whole grain baking, but I still have organic all purpose on hand. I would like to cut out most of it.
A wonderful podcast! This is information everyone can benefit from and regain a healthy food lifestyle.
This is WONDERFUL! Thank you Sue. I’m taking this information and running with it. Inspired listener here.
I’m thankful to hear this interview with Sue, and I’m excited to try this out and see if we experience some health changes. God bless you both.
