    No doubt, this will become a great series!
    There is one question about hooks, I was always wondering about: What about the bend of the hookeye?
    When and WHY should I choose a straight hook and when a up/downwards pointing eye?
    Would be great, if you could explain this in one ofe the former episodes! Thanks!

    I always understood a 1x long, say in a 14, meant that the shank was the length of a size 12. Been tying a long time, but this is the first time I've heard it was an extra hook eye length.
