Getting back to the real basics makes up think about our casting as well as the development of good muscle memory for better casting. Thanks, Brian, for bringing us back the roots if a good cast.
My favorite fly casting video is the one where you describe the casting as music in 4/4 time. I’m a bass musician ( not the fish) and I can always remember that one.
Brian you must get tired of repeating the basics, but they are incredibly helpful, not only to those new in the sport, but also for us who developed bad casting habits. Thanks.
Love this Chanel. I watch your videos. I ordered flies from you. Live in black hills South Dakota. Can even tell you how many fish I've caught off. Those black wooly boogers I got. From you. Thank you for all you do.
A pair of calipers, or a micrometer, can be employed to measure fly line diameter / taper, or monofilament diameter or taper. They are handy in the shop too.
Hits the basics over and over.. and what a difference he makes… Wow! No one does it better!

I come back to your casting videos a couple times a year. Reminds me of all the things I'm doing wrong, and tune's up my casting every time.

Another excellent instructional 🎣 video Brian, as we All pick up bad habits.
Thanks for watching.
It's a bit like a shooting head with a shooting line
@@AndrewCox-y4l well, that’s what a weight forward line is! Thanks for watching.
@@Madriveroutfitters yes but a shooting head is only 30feet in length, floating weight forward tapers are more chunky than following the 30 feet
Great refresher for those of us that don't fish daily and memories that are less than ideal LOL
