WORST Buffet in Las Vegas? Luxor Buffet Reviewed.

- We have long heard that the Luxor Buffet in Las Vegas is bad. But, we are open-minded and pretty easy going people who aren't too picky when it comes to food.
We tried the Luxor Buffet, which is open for brunch from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. We tried several breakfast and lunch options to see what we thought. Come along and see what we liked and what we didn't!

Swings and Roundabouts with the buffets. You get what you pay for. Luxor buffet is good when you have a hella hangover and don’t want to pay Wynn prices.

I haven't eaten at the Luxor Buffet since 2009. But I have watched a lot of youtube videos of other people's visit since covid. I'm under the impression that MGM Resorts is using the Luxor Buffet as a dumping ground for their other buffets and restaurants daily left over food. I think all the staff is doing is reheating most of the food they serve. It would explain why the textures of the food are always off in every video I watch. "All You Can Vegas" had a video where they scooped out scrambled eggs from the line and the eggs were ice cold. Not room temperature cold, refrigerated cold. Danny the Medic has video where the pancake was so stiff he was hitting the pancake against plates and flatware and there was impact noise.
Never thought of this, but I can totally see them doing it…
Haha, I will have to go look. I don’t like to watch videos before I go because I like to keep an open mind, but now, it will just be funny. I know people have complained about it, but I didn’t think it would be as bad as it was! 😂🤣

MGM Grand, Luxor, Excalibur all have the same buffet menu, suppliers. They have a selection of lots of ok food, but not good or bad. Only brunch is served $30, $33 on weekends. Skip the pizza, pasta, salads and scrambled eggs- frozen egg product from a factory, but get an omelet from the omlet station. Stick to their carved meats and specialty items, save room for dessert.

Good honest review Melissa. I stayed at Luxor a few times, first trip in 1995 and like 3 times after. I am not a fan of buffets and I have ate at the buffet Luxor pre Covid because comped and would not go back. I would rather pay for a nice meal somewhere. Buffets in Vegas are not the same and overrated especially price wise and wait times.
We’re also not big on buffets but we know people love them and so we’re trying them all! I agree, I’d rather pay than feel disappointed that way, especially on vacation! Thanks JNo!

🤣😂 oh I’ll totally eat those free breakfasts too, but I grab a couple of things like toast and a banana or maybe cereal or yogurt. I won’t always eat the “hot” food. But it’s freeee!

Seriously, I laughed at myself watching it back! There’s always one or 2 things I don’t like and sometimes it’s just preference. This was just bad in too many ways.
Thanks for the video saved me from going there. One of the things I do is ask to tour the buffet. Because even an expensive buffet can be having a bad night. Plus you can tell with your eyes what's going to be good and what's not going to make the cut. So pro tip for some of your viewers... before you wait in a long line and spend your money, just tour the buffet first!

I’m not too picky of an eater so I don’t complain too often, but there were way too many bad dishes here. It’s too bad!

People say Circus Circus 🎪 buffet is bad,..(which it isn't great). However it's better than Luxor. Lol. Maybe you guys can compare the two?

I know I mentioned that there has been some detheming at Luxor (Aurora used to be Nefertiti) but the funny thing the buffet originally was on the attractions level and had a New York theme!

Melissa, I was both cringing and laughing at the same time! You were a trooper to keep trying food when the results were "inconsistent" let's say. I've stayed at the Luxor two different times and love the casino, but I went to that buffet only one time in 12 days of my vacation there. It's just not very good. If you don't get the freshly made food (like you had with the omelet), it's a crapshoot at best. And you made two particularly good points; one positive and one negative. When you go down there it's a very cool looking setting for a buffet - I had forgotten about that. But my biggest pet peeve, that you correctly pointed out several times, was the fact of how poorly things were marked - if at all. That bugs me too. Well, you learned a lesson in Las Vegas - stay far far away from the Luxor buffet!
Haha I cracked up at myself watching it back! I’m not a picky eater at all so this was very telling. Maybe I’d go again if I had a BOGO via the MyVEGAS App but I’d rather just go to Excalibur buffet. It’s much better!

I went to the Luxor buffet during F1 weekend....it was an interesting experience hahaha, first time back to a Vegas buffet since pre-pandemic, the theming is definitely really cool, the food was pretty bad, but the chinese section was pretty good, and then we had our seats at the far end close to the exit and it felt like the longest walk ever when heading to the food stations 🤣 any other buffet recommendations?

In my experience the buffet was the only good thing about the Luxor. I never liked the downstairs basement casino at the Luxor. Very cramped with the low ceiling and bad decor.
Now, it might be the worst part of Luxor, except I did like the basement. Felt like I was going on a theme park ride with all the ambiance ! 😂
And no bowls by the soup! 🤦♀️😂😂
Years ago i had the Excalibur buffet and it was decent, but the next day I thought the Luxor would be better and I was highly disappointed!
It amazes me how restaurants serve meatless country gravy. Sausage or bacon gravy is easy to make! I made Sausage gravy in my Vdara room last year. Even if you're using store bought/Jimmy Dean type Sausage, it's better than the packeged stuff a lot of restaurants serve! Excalibur is better for a strip buffet. I need to try South Point's buffet, because I love their late night specials!
Yes, it’s so weird not to add sausage! You definitely should try Southpoint. It’s pretty darn good, especially for the price!
Luxor buffet is not the best but I do like the omelets there you can order yourself! I agree pancakes were horrible

Just the decor is worth the price. I am not picky with food. I go for the ambiance and make it a relaxation break. So, what ruins it for me? Noise, chatter, loud talking, complaining. etc. Monastery silence perfect, group therapy session chatter no thanks.
I liked the decor. It was so much fun! I’m not picky either, James, but this place had so few edible options. It was so weird!

I ate at the Excalibur buffet in April and it sounds very similar. The carving station/omlette station food was good, but there was a line and it was slow moving. The rest of the food was below average quality. Nothing was delicious. Just mediocre at best. It sounds like Luxor is similar or worse. Over 30 dollars is expensive in my opinion. These cheaper Vegas buffets used to be like 12.99 or so for lunch or breakfast. Golden Corral is way better than the Excalibur buffet, and it is way cheaper. And I am not saying Golden Corral is high end cuisine by any means lol. But they have great fried chicken, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, green beans, rolls, cake, etc. It's better tasting food.
We have eaten at Excalibur buffet a couple of times in the last year and quality was much better than Luxor, so that’s telling you something 🤣. You’re right that Excalibur is mediocre but I found the food edible and fresher. Is it worth the $33? Probably not, but it’s darn Vegas pricing. Moral of the story, if you didn’t like Excalibur, stay far away from Luxor ! 🤣 😄
You are very brave....I cannot believe people eat hot dogs. I won't touch one unless they are from the local meat market where they don't make a "mash" of ass holes, eye balls, rectums, snouts....I haven't eaten that crap for over 20 years and my reaction when I watch people eating one is just like when you took a taste of the cheese blitz. There was food there that "how do you mess that up?" How do you mess up a cheese blintz, biscuits and gravy, and potatoes, plus a lot of the other items? No taco side items like no cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, etc? Just strange. And at $33.99 yet? Sounds like a lot of reheated or boil in a bag items, like that biscuit gravy that sounds like 50 cent add water and stir gravy packets

I went about a month ago and paid with comps. I’d agree that it’s good enough if it’s free or discounted. Palms is still my fave so far. I need to check out South Point.

I stayed at this hotel, one time and tried the buffet and it was horrible. I haven’t been back since😂😂😂

nasty hotel i was there this weekend all 3 of my rooms had blood on the wall shower nasty sink throw mud water out and still no refund i have all the pics and videos
Sounds terrible! We haven’t had issues with the rooms over several trips. Buffet was not good, however.

The Luxor is a SLUM. The whole place lol. It's only for barely 21's who just want to get drunk and party.
The buffet was pretty bad but the rest really isn’t that terrible. We have stayed there quite a bit. But if you’re used to Wynn or similar, I can see this perspective.
@@UpUpOurWay The "Wynn" is the Top of the Vegas Food Chain. Literally. Their Buffet is the Best in Vegas and they dont kick you out after 90 minutes like some others. Perhaps Luxor isn;t the "worst" Casino hotel..that is probably The Rio which is in process of being sold and remodeled.
@@Piggy-Oink-Oink yes, the poor Rio is getting much needed TLC. We stayed in a remodeled room recently after staying in a very sad non-remodeled room a few months prior. Not perfect, but better. Hoping the other changes help too. Rio was great back in the day! And yes, Wynn is top tier for sure!

@@Piggy-Oink-Oink funny you ask! We’ll have a video out in a few weeks, but we stayed there for the first time recently. They remodeled some of the rooms. We were in district 3. It was better than I expected. I had VERY low expectations. Room was small, view was 💩 but it felt brand new and was clean. It’s a great location! Not a lot of food in the hotel but the Linq promenade has so much!
