    • @JanetStarChild

My top pick wouldn't even crack the top 100, mostly because of his scarcity: Mattel's Clash of the Titans The Kraken.
This giant sized rendition of Ray Harryhausen's masterpiece was the Holy Grail of my childhood and much in the same way remained elusive. Because of the size and cost of the figure production was low so few toy stores carried it and those that did often had it out of stock. Normally depicted as a giant squid, this version of the Nordic sea monster was a more stylized hulking humanoid with 4 arms, fins for legs, and a foot long tail which extended from his derrière. Ironically in the 1981 film "Clash of the Titans" there were no complete body shots of The Kraken. This toy was based on Harryhousen's original maquette and for the longest time was the only way to get a complete view of the creature in all its glory. Although coming from an era when articulation was still in its infancy, The Kraken did have a 360 degree swivel waist, all 4 arms on ball joints, and a detachable tail which swung back & forth on a hinge.
Although I never did get this incredible figure as a child, The Kraken now sits proudly on my shelf thanks to our friends the internet and eBay. To whoever holds the license for this toy line I say: Re-release The Kraken! =)

Wow! Boba Fett was first made in late 1979 and is considered an 80's icon. That's a lot like Gary Nueman's song Cars. And they came out with a new model every year, just like cars. And he had to be recalled, just like cars!
What a long and lonely journey he is on down the long and dusty road, just like ... IDK a horse or something that travels down roads. I can't really think of what that could be right now.

Man I was thinking about Pixel Dan when he mentioned He-Man as number #2 on the list. That ought to make Dan smile in his bed as he doses off to sleep to night. Good night (Little Nemo) Dan.

So happy to see 2 Transformers on there. I should have voted harder for Secret Wars Baron Zemo

That jacket is so flashy and perfectly 80s it must have come with a pair of parachute pants and a fanny pack. That mullet is pretty radical too.

I'm glad to see the three of my 5 Picks made it on the list. I'm also glad to hear that Centurions got some votes.

    1. He-Man
    2. Optimus Prime
    3. Boba Fett
I loved the Transformers, but they weren't as easy to play with or as versatile as MotU.

As a child I preferred v2 Snake Eyes for the visor, but approaching middle age I appreciate v1's turtleneck

I'm reminded of one of my favorite versions of He-man the denting chest damage He-man and Skeletor or the Hot Wheels that had parts that could be damaged/dented for a slightly more realistic crash damage.
