So far, it isn't his favorite activity to work in the garden (probably because it's more work than play. Lol) But he's learning. 😊

Holy cow those are big grubs!! I've never seen them so big! We JUST got chickens and they are about 3 weeks old now. This past weekend me and my daughter were working in the yard setting up the enclosure and coop, as well as planting some Apple Trees and Marshmallow plants. My daughter was digging random holes in the yard to hunt for grubs for the chicks, and they were loving them! The grubs we have here in West Michigan are smaller, and white in color. Great tips guys, thanks! Happy grub hunting! (or beetle larva hunting I guess lol)
We don't have enough space for a full out compost pile, but it's something I'd like to do. We do have a "Hungry Bin" worm bin, that gives us a nice bit of compost every month that I have been making worm casting tea with an aeration stone. The plants love it!
I've always wanted to make a worm compost bin. Those look so cool ! I've also wanted to start a Meal Worm farm for homemade chicken food. 😊

Did you know you can use your egg shells and your potato peels
We use our egg shells to feed back to the chickens for a calcium supplement and Gritt for digestion. 😊
