  • Hey guys!! Now that we're in the colder winter days, many of us drift away from our easy "wash-n-go" routines to the more convenient thermal styling (cuz ain't nobody got time to air dry every day in freezing cold elements)LOL So, I've put together a quick and simple tutorial for cleaning your thermal styling tools...easy peasy lemon squeezy! Don't forget to use protectants before you put any heat on your hair!!!
    xx,
    Ashley

Remember to use a little water on a cotton ball afterwards to clean back off the alcohol residue off your plates then a dry cotton ball to buff dry as the alcohol residue releases into your hair the next time you use your flat iron which causes breakage to your hair as well.

I was just about to ask this question. Thank you! You are very thorough, yet concise. I very much appreciate your style, and this video being only 3 and a half minutes!

This was by FAR the best method I've ever tried. Worked instantly. Minor pressure needed. And it sanitizes at the same time which is a bonus. Only negative is it took a bit of my nail polish off with it 😅 But I'll wear a glove next time. Thanks for uploading!

YOUR NAIL POLISH CAME OFF CUZ YOU WERE USING NAIL POLISH REMOVER BCUZ THERE IS NO WAY YOU USED ALCOHOL WITH "LITTLE PRESSURE" AND THEY CAME CLEAN UNLESS YOURS LOOKED LIKE HERS🤣🤣🤣

Thanks you! I was about to go buy new ones! Other vids suggested baking soda and l thought it would scratch the irons.

Oh my god im so annoyed. This is all i had to do? Im over here letting the plates get hot, then using the flat side of a bobby pin to scrape the shit off, every so often burning myself and making a few scratches on the plates 🙄🤦 i feel like such a dunce 😅💀

Thank you I tried this but it took multiple routines to get the residue off wondering if a mini toothbrush and scour sponge would work better 😂

How do you clean the discoloration on the outer part of the plates. Mine looks like it has smoke damage from it sitting on high heat. It’s not the plates, but the plastic sides instead.

If you get it all off it will🌈It's the build up of product that holds the smell

This didnt work for mine. Convinced I need to buy a new one and it sucks cuz mine works perfectly fine. The grime is build up from years. I barely used it so I guess I didnt notice until it was too late

THOSE FLATIRONS AREN'T EVEN DIRTY. I'm sitting here step by step following your directions. WHILE MINE ISN'T EVEN COMING CLEAN ☹ I look up at the irons you're cleaning and THEY ARE SPOT FREE with the exception for the side of them. SMH! Mannnn, I thought you were on to something. 😆😆😆

Unfortunately, this video was created to show you how to clean your flat iron if you need it. The amount of buildup is not a condition. I hope the video helps if you need it if the future. ☺️
