Not bullshit, madness due to isolation. If Titans weren't social, they wouldn't have been a need for Mt. Etna. Suppose she could just be delusional, too.
Odysseus beats up Poseidon. Athena, still recovering, leans in to an observing Ares: you still think hes a coward? Ares: ...can i adopt him? Odysseus: Next to my wife. Hera: ...ALL THE BLESSINGS. CLEAR THE SKIES. GIVE HIM WHAT HE NEEDS. Good choice, Athena darling. WE'RE SHARING PATRONAGE.
Your reaction was worth the wait. You are so knowledgeable about the myth, but give credit to the fact this is based on the original story with liberties that work well to retell.
Ody having red eyes and a bit more hyped up aggression is theorized to be Ares giving him a little push. He was promised bloodshed when Ody got home by Athena and it makes sense. Ares is largely feared and despised so he'd want to get what he was promised, he is the god of bloodshed.
Actually, in one of Gwendy's (one of the official animators, specifically the crash out scene) livestream, as well as in the official Discord server, she confirmed that Ares was not involved whatsoever. Ares was not even a part of her and Jorge's discussion, she said.
@@ranyadavina4585Yeah a bit of an odd theory, especially since there was no Ares Motif instrumentally, and in official animatics Ares had an orange color scheme, not red. Odysseus also just ran from Charybdis without putting up a fight, which is exactly what Ares complained about in God Games.
@@BeyondTrash-xe1vs Motif's aside, I wonder then *how* Ody is able to do what he did at all in 600 Strike? For me I felt like it'd be okay if we chalked it up to 'anime fight ensues' IF there were already similar situations. The previous sagas didn't have that feeling for me, so it felt like a sudden change in pace that made me kinda tilt my head (even though the song was amazing).
@@stephenberry4978 I think the original intent was that Ody is giving everything he's got and that sheer tenacity combined with the wind bag helped him win. I like other animatics' interpretation that the wind bag is used to wrest control of Poseidon's powers and use it against him.
I think Odysseus was a lot more confident in facing Charybdis because she's basically just a mindless beast. No sentience, just instinct; so he likely realized that instead of wasting time trying to kill this massive beast, he could just avoid her whirlpools until she gives up
That entire sequence is one of the best things I've seen in a while, it might be kind of screwed up, because we watched a man be tortured but there's something so cathartic about every line that Odysseus says during that sequence that just makes you so happy for him.
I just finished wathing all your reaction videos and you are by far my favorite reactor! You picked up on so much through the music and knowing the story that had to be explained by Jorge in his videos and only then most people had the "Oooh" moment. Your understanding of the music is remarkable!
"Obviously he doesn't fight Poseidon one on one, that would be crazy." lol, and it was. As much as I respect Jorge's vision, the windbag jet pack was a little too silly for me, personally. But some other animators have already created animatics with alternative fight scenes that are a *bit* more believable? Duvetbox, in particular.
I personally like the idea that, since Poseidon used to be the god of death, that the spirits calling out to him were actually inspiring him to go on. Hence Eurys line, "Think of all we've learned." and the spirits saying "Waiting" is like them saying we'll be here eventually. And that the 600 Strike is the spirits themselves fighting Poseidon. I know this isn't what Jorge envisioned, but this is my own personal headcanon without the animatic.
@@IAmQwerty1 I also thought something along those lines. That Polities, Eury, his mom, and the 600 spirits weren't pulling him down but reminding him to fight, each in their own way. What if, when Ody's eyes turned red, theirs do, too. And he uses the windbag to rise to the surface with the 600 souls in tow. Then, with the storm free, he and Poseidon are tossed around, but the souls of his men help steady and guide him-while simultaneously distracting Poseidon and making it impossible for him to see/fight. I feel like beating a god, one of the big three, on pure strength is a very hard sell (classical jetpack or not). But if Ody was able to strategize and had the help of his men one last time, he might be able to stealth his way to beating Poseidon. Just a thought!
Hear me out, in the water after shatter the ocean, Odysseus notices the windbag, but weaved into the binding of the bag is another holy moly flower from Hermes, letting ody fight using another projection, most likely of his fleet, like how he projected a cyclops to fight Circe
I agree, It was hilarious I couldn't stop laughing, but I also loved it in its own way, never thought this series would take a turn like this into more of unrealistic and anime approach but here we are
If you listen closely, Calypso's choir is just her and Odysseus with different pitches. Those are literally the only voices she has to draw from to make her choir. Though with that cool songwriting note out of the way here's my Calypso take. Love in paradise and Not sorry for loving you are a masterclass in writing emotional manipulation, and the fan divide on Epic Calypso is proof of it. Shes not sorry for what happened, shes sorry that he didn't give in. She ignored his pleas and tried to force him into a relationship even after being told no for years. In the end when she has to see him off, she hits him with "Im sorry my love was too much for you" as though it was his fault that things were bad on her island. She says "I wish you would lie and say 'i love you'" meaning she knew the whole time he didn't care about her and was still trying. then trows a tantrum when he says that he doesn't feel the same way about her, like "Why wont you just love me back 'married man trapped in my divine prison cell with me" Yet there are people who defend Calypso as just a hopeless romantic, lovestruck with the first man she meets and that she really was the victim after she was placed on Ogygia. Its manipulation so cleanly delivered that it even manipulated the fans into believing her! chefs kiss beautiful instrumentals, beautiful voice, beautiful writing. A+ song Also, during Dangerous, the silence where the call and response should go for the Full speed ahead reprise hits so hard
1:13 I cannot describe just how much I feel that facial expression on a spiritual level, she had me in the first verse I'm not going to lie, and then she just had to go and say "I'm sorry my love was too much for you" at that point she may as well have just chucked the rest of this apology video into a flaming dumpster and then nuked the dumpster , because she isn't really helping her case, and after that all I had to say for the line, "I hate that I fell in love with you how am I supposed to get over you what do I do with this love for you" was simple, one is a bit more of a mature response "Calypso honey this is not love it has never been loved and it's simply obsession. And the other responses a little more Petty, because all I can think of is Odysseus in that moment responding to every one of those questions with "not my problem, not my problem, aaaand, not my problem!"and well his face in the Gigi animatic absolutely supports that that's what he's saying in his head.
So happy to finally get your reaction I was so curious to see your thoughts on Jorge’s take on beating Poseidon since you know it wasn’t in the original story. Seeing you on the edge of your seat was exactly how I was watching it live!! Amazing reaction!! ❤
The fact that Calypso has spent her whole life alone, and will now go back to spending eternity alone as an immortal being, kind of informs this song as much wanting to make her seem more human and soften the blow. What she is doing is absolutely wrong with no gray area. Her keeping him there is wrong. Her trying to force him to love her is wrong. Abuse is abuse. However, people can do wrong things and you can still understand what caused that decision. If all I had ever known was loneliness and suddenly a person appeared, I'd probably fall in what I thought was love too and do all I could to not go back to that. It would still be wrong but it would happen.
If I'm remembering the mythology correctly, she's cursed to remain on the island and fall in love with anyone who arrives there as her own personal hell for supporting her father Atlas against the gods.
@@0401tri that's healthy love if i had to guess her curse is not that but to develop the kind of love that borders on obsessive madness sort of yandere esk you sort of see that when shes first introduced with the way she responds to ody's answer to "who is Penlope"
13:30 "he kind of make it home without any trouble" OH MY GODS, what is having trouble for you my man??? He make it home having all the troubles, except for fighting Poseidon!
He 100% meant AFTER leaving Calypso's island, not the entirety of the Odyssey. He means that in the original Poseidon doesn't confront Ody while he's still sailing home on his li'l arts and crafts raft lol.
I love how Odysseus' vengeance is so deserved and Jorge does such a fantastic job with the narrative that every one who reacts to 600 strike just suspends disbelief and WATCHES SILENTLY TILL THE END. Like, everyones sp caught in the music, the universal reaction is: a mortal took on Poseidon? About damn time 😅
I hadn't seen that before until I read this! I had a feeling it must be something more than just random patches of blue but I hadn't managed to make it out.
I think the thing people sort of miss here about Calypso is that it's not really an excuse for her actions but more of an understanding that Hurt People hurt people. It's a more modern (relatively, we're talking like 1500s iirc) take about Calypso, but the idea that she's essentially trapped on her own island for her role in the titanomachy in her youth informs her character here; she's been alone with no other human interaction ever since then, and she's only really guilty of coming on to Odysseus. She didn't make him wash up on her island, she's not even really keeping him here, the 'spell' she's talking about keeps *anyone* from leaving, including herself, until the gods intervene specifically to get Odysseus out, and it's implied she doesn't have any control over it, or she might have just followed Odysseus home anyway. None of that excuses her trying to shove her way into Odysseus' heart with such persistence, but anyone so touch starved for so long could be forgiven for immediately falling in love with the first person who appears in their life after all that time, especially one as handsome as Odysseus. And in her mind, they're both stuck there barring outside intervention, so she might as well try and make the best of it. There's nuance to her character, just like everything else in this show. She can both be sympathetic and completely in the wrong for her actions. I don't think it's worth hating her, not even Odysseus hates her, who would have the most right to; if anything he pities her and thinks of her as a dear friend. She's just another person who's been screwed over by the gods, and like I said at the top of this rant; Hurt People hurt people.
I don't think that was it. In love in paradise it says "under MY SPELL we're stuck in paradise". Sure it can mean that she can't leave but I also think that that curse is only for her, so she has the control to let people go, she just doesn't want to let Ody go because she cannot follow him. So sure, we can understand why she did that but she's wrong, she is a victim of the gods but perpetrator in this case, in this sole case she is not a victim
@@chicanaranja4460 That line doesn't define as much as you might think. A thing can be yours without you being in control or the source of it, so long as it's particularly tied to you. an injury afflicted to you is still yours. It's my torn achilles, my concussion, my *curse* in particular, etc. The only thing she explicitly says is that no-one can come or go, which presumably includes herself. A curse that is meant to keep you alone on an island for your entire life seems pretty likely not to be something you cast yourself, and it's sort of implied Odysseus only even washed up there because either Zeus put him there or he was close enough to death not to be counted, as implied by Tiresius's prophecy.
I have to say, I enjoy your reactions so much because you know the original myth but also appreciate the artistic license taken and comment so genuinely. I can’t wait for the next release and your reaction. My kids are both obsessed with Greek mythology thanks to this musical, but I also explain to them how the story deviates from the original along the way, so they don’t “correct” others that may only know the myth.
I take it 600 Strike is your favorite of the songs 😂 I personally can’t pick a pick a favorite. (But I do love how Gigi drew Odysseus walking away like, “Nah. I’m not dealing with those crocodile tears. Sorry, girl, but I’ve got a family to get back to.”)
personally I think they're real tears, but it doesn't mean they aren't emotional manipulation - I think Calypso genuinely doesn't know how much of an asshole she's being which is true for a lot of abusers who are also victims in the past or present - Calypso got that victim mentality
@@emberwoodruff9698To be fair, she’s been stuck there and will be stuck there for the rest of eternity… alone. It makes sense why she’s like this, but it’s still abuse. Atleast you can see her point of view here.

Although this is my favorite animation for six houndred strikes, there is another one that show six houndred strikes as a command, the last command from oddyseus to his crew, to attack poseidon
I was genuinely so happy when you immediately called out calypso’s manipulation bullshit! So many people fall for her manipulation in the musical and I know it’s a testament to how well Jorge wrote her but it still makes me so angry!
I love the ending of 600 Strikes because I know the Odyssey pretty (been a while since I’ve read it) and I have always wanted Odysseus to just beat the shit out of someone. So happy it finally happened
I still think that its very anime/videogame like that Odysseus did get a godlike powerup while fighting Poseidon. I also think that there is a detail that many overlook that hints at him reaching godlike power. In Epic only gods have the ability to summon background vocals that arent actually there canonically. But still Odysseus has his dead crew sing background vocals while he defeats Poseidon. And they arent in the underworld or in a dreamlike state of Odysseus, which would explain it in another way.
This saga was so good! The only thing that I’d say made it my least favorite though was probably the jetpack shenanigans. I do feel like maybe it’s because the 3D made it look very controlled but id imagine it’d be more uncoordinated in reality which is what I think other animators will do.
as far as I know she's not a nymph, she's a goddess, daughter of Atlas the Titan, imprisoned eternally on the island by herself by zeus for supporting her father during the titan war, she is INSANELY lonely.
This musical has officially topped Hamilton and Beetlejuice for me, and those have been fighting for the top spot on my list for years now, and it's not even Broadway!
It isnt her own spell though? I thought Calypso was cursed to fall in love with whoever arrived on her island so that she would have to watch them grow old and die because she’s immortal… this way she has to fall into insanity alone or fall into heartbreak, all for “crimes” she committed as a literal child…
This is completely unrelated to the video, but as a life/recording/ease of use tip, the left and right arrow keys will move you 5 seconds forward or back in a video, and the comma and period keys let you go frame by frame. Had this thought in the Wisdom saga live stream video but totally forgot to mention it (you would see something, try to go back a bit, but because it was an hour and a half long video, you would get sent back almost a full minute xD). Might make it a bit easier if you want to go back a few seconds to rewatch something you missed, like with the sister winion bit.
I have been looking forward to this! I am actually kind of sad that you watched the livestream, but only because I find the over-the-top anime fight super cringe and it sadly ruined my own experience watching this saga. I mean nothing bad by this, it's well-made and all. But personally, I find the whole thing so silly and not at all believable. Only my personal opinion, and nothing bad about you. But Ody stabbing Poseidon is so satisfying and the animation makes the previous cringe so worth it. I adore that part.
I agree with you mostly, it kind of soured my opinion on the saga at first, but also Jorge has stated time and time again that Epic is very anime and video game inspired. He’s referred to other fights as “anime fights” and even Little Wolf’s animation was in the style of a video game. I think it doesn’t harm the actual song at all, and there are a million ways to interpret how he fights Poseidon without the jet pack.
@@royalicequeen8099 That's fine, it was just my own personal opinion. As long as most fans thought it was epic (pun intended), my opinion does not matter anyway. Just wanted to express it
It's going to be hard for me to sleep sound now having all the crew's and gods (especially Posiden's) screams in my head.😰 For context I Watched the animations for all saga's almost twice, Listen to all sagas twice on Spotify, and this would be third person on YT I watch react to the whole album (by far). I'm honestly obsessed.
I'm Not Sorry For Loving You has beautiful music and Calypso's VA has a beautiful voice... However it doesn't change my mind that I'm not a fan of Calypso Yeah we've all had the same reaction hearing Polites again. Love your reactions
While not gonna argue right/wrong, this version of Calypso, I actually felt sorry for. It seems she has not known anyone else. Stuck on an unknowable island, on her own, finally gets ... a pet? from Zeus.
I think i got mixed up with another character, cause i thought Calypso was a Titan that was banished to an island at the end of the war between the Titans and the gods, and that shes the one trapped on the island, and the only way for anyone who gets lost and comes upon the island to be able to leave (asides from godly help) is to fall in love with her.
So there are some people saying that because Jorge hasn't confirmed it, that she didn't actually assault him 😬 I haven't made up my mind yet but I'm of the opinion that Jorge is drawing inspiration from Rick Riordan's version of Calypso. Wherein she was banished to the island by the gods, so she is ALSO a prisoner and she's cursed to fall in love with mortal men only to have them taken away from her. But that's just me, please don't come for me 😅
I personally didnt like Calypso until her song in this saga. It doesnt excuse the things that she did, but it does humanize her and who she is in this story. Shes a goddess who was lonely and thought the gods had sent her someone to love and cherish her on her island for as long as they lived. She fell in love with him, but he could never have loved her. Now be that a coincidence or her being mocked by something she can never have is up in the air for me I do feel bad for her, though, even though I'm happy that he got to leave
The Vengeance saga has a lot of good songs but narratively it feels a bit empty (from the perspective of a music only listener). Not Sorry For Loving You is a strong start with a lot more to it than you first might expect, but then in Dangerous nothing happens other than Hermes showing up and giving Odysseus the wind bag. "The plan" they both refer to turns out to simply be directions, "follow the north star no matter how far". Charybdis (my favorite song of the saga btw) feels exactly like Lyle described it, "a speedbump". Narratively it feels redundant, however, in terms of pacing it really helps set the tone for the fight against Poseidon. Get In the Water is simply good from start to finish. No complaints here. Six Hundred Strike really ruined me for a while until I came to terms with the fact that I don't have to agree with Jorge's vision. I've never had an issue with the anime-esque or videogame inspired stuff he puts in the animatics 'cause it never affected the music. The sillyness never affected the music in any bad way until Six Hundred Strike. That line (and a small part of the build-up to it) feels so out of place in such a tense and serious moment. Let me be clear, I 100% think that beating Poseidon was the best way to end this saga, however, I feel betrayed by how it was done. So out of touch with the rest of the story. Thankfully the ending of Six Hundred Strike is narratively satisfying (extremely so). Overall I really enjoyed this saga.
Yeah, i feel the same, i don't like the jet pac and just an ultimate skill without justification. I like some animtica that make the scene looks like a long fight cuting scenes where ody win by being smart and a fast thinker.
I very much disagree on your take of Dangerous. As Odysseus embarks on his final journey it provides a significant thematic and musical contrast to Full Speed Ahead. Story wise, it also serves a very necessary purpose. It points Odysseus's way home, reinforces his belief in ruthlessness after all this time, sets up the wind bag's return, as well as forshadows his use of the wind bag to defeat Poseidon (putting everything on the line/opening the wind bag which guarantees "you'll never make it home"). It also gives Odysseus a hint about Athena. As for Charybdis, this feeling is a symptom of the format. Anyone who's seen the album art, or the song names, knows Poseidon is about to come back. But for an actual musical, Charybdis acts as a faux final battle for Odysseus to work through, reinforcing his wit and sailing skills with a rare victory. Plus putting Odysseus in sight of home makes Get in the Water hit much harder. It does still feel a bit insignificant nonetheless, but in the context of a musical it wouldn't be nearly this extreme. What line in Six Hundred Strike do you have an issue with? I can understand taking issue with the animatic, but musically I think it is by far one of the most powerful and well done in the entire musical. Honestly I'm a little iffy on the jetpack too. I think it's pretty drastic to say it ruined the saga or anything, but I get it. To play devil's advocate, I don't think the jetpack is an atrocious idea, I just think the execution was a little undercooked. Attaching Poseidon's storm to his mortal body to give him the upper hand he needs over Poseidon is a genuinely crazy idea that does put everything on the line, as he promised to Hermes in Dangerous. The problem is it then comes off like a modern commercial jetpack, perfectly under his control and serving him more like a power up than a last ditch effort. I think having the animation more accurately reflect the chaos of the storm, and the toll it would take on Odysseus's body would have done a lot more to make this more palatable.
Calypso isn't a nymph she's a goddess who has been banished and cursed to forever be in that island and cursed to always fall in love with whoever else gets to her island as well she's cursed and banished cause she sided with her father atlas in the titan vs gods war so when the gods won they got rid of her as she technically didn't hurt anyone or fight but she sided with her father
Last I checked, Calypso was the Goddess of Secrets and she was the daughter of the Titans. Much like Atlas and the other Titans, she trapped on that island by Zeus for being a Titan.
I’ve been waiting for you. YAY. Please, PLEASE check out some of the animatics if you can, it really adds to the songs, especially this saga with “i’m not sorry for loving you” and shows that it’s really kind of a manipulation tactic & trying to gain sympathy from Ody, not that she’s a good person. ALSO the animatics add something really good to Six Hundred Strike! Like it’s that extra OOMPH imo.
I think they tried to humanize calypso in this one because she’s not a nymph here but a goddess who was cast out, so you not only feel bad for Odysseus but for her aswell

Nothing can make us sympathetic or empathetic to kalypso for what she’s done! It’s never right or justified to do what she did no matter how lonely or whatever you might be. While today female on male crimes like these aren’t talked about even weirdly praised or wanted by some people, no matter what’s happened to you in any past relationships or even current you should never want that to happen it’ll leave the victim degraded, feeling like less a man, like they shouldn’t speak up about, feel like shit for letting it happen and worst of all feelings suicidal because we men don’t have the outlets woman do at least today if woman, if l roles are reversed men get shit on called out and society turns on them but women because that kind of crime is way less likely they get away with it way more. It causes so many more problems for any victims and men are more likely to end themselves more so then women because we can’t and don’t get therapy, we don’t talk about our problems, we just have society to blame for most of it because despite it being very uncommon it can and does happen and we men have nothing to do with our thoughts or feelings because we’re told it’s “not manly to talk about it” or the worst thing especially for young victims “he probably liked it at the end of the day” when that’s not the case we’re just told never to talk about it or tell anyone. This is from a guy who knows four victims 2 killed themselves meanwhile 2 are still alive (my mother and best friend are the 2 alive and all are childhood victims meanwhile the other 2 cousins I had by their own mother yeah fucked up enough for ya my “former” aunt did a terrible crime TO HER CHILDREN and is still free) but again the biggest difference is I’ve been told by both accounts that they’ve had things done to them by evil fucks, one has been very open the other very secretive and told me while being alone, it’s a sharp contrast because we men don’t have the luxury or kindness of getting help while is the most depressing double standard of life. This is a huge issue that needs to be talked about more and doesn’t need to glorified if it does happen, while yes men today have become more open and talkative it’s still not fully open or socially “acceptable” to do so which is very sad to see. Men are people too women shouldn’t be able to get away with crimes like that and if they do they should be held to the same accounts as if a man did it not just a slap on the wrist or a lesser sentence if she is charged (and again I say IF which is a sad thing because women don’t confess and men don’t speak up enough!) we need to tear down the double standard social structure, no matter the crime women and men should have the equal crime time am I right?! (Uncommon or not crimes are still crimes and women should have the same sentence as men if they did the exact same crime and it shouldn’t be held as fucking praised by boys, young men today if they do get used in any kind of way. It’s bad and you just have/had no idea and need to learn more about how to get help in recovering or if your that inclined getting revenge! And those who strangely want it to happen to them no you fucking don’t if you feel unloved or lonely or you have had bad relationships you can’t seek out any kind of abusive “relationships” as a way of “coping” because of your accidental choice in a partner. Now if it’s cause if your parents that’s a wildly different story that I’m unqualified to really speak on, best course of action like most of these issues and problems please seek therapy or any other kind of help please that’s what they’re there for!)

I agree, It was hilarious I couldn't stop laughing, but I also loved it in its own way, never thought this series would take a turn like this into more of unrealistic and anime approach but here we are
@@berri-g2gthat would actually be really interesting, I’d love to see an artist work this concept into an animatic
She says "I wish you would lie and say 'i love you'" meaning she knew the whole time he didn't care about her and was still trying. then trows a tantrum when he says that he doesn't feel the same way about her, like "Why wont you just love me back 'married man trapped in my divine prison cell with me"
Yet there are people who defend Calypso as just a hopeless romantic, lovestruck with the first man she meets and that she really was the victim after she was placed on Ogygia. Its manipulation so cleanly delivered that it even manipulated the fans into believing her! chefs kiss beautiful instrumentals, beautiful voice, beautiful writing. A+ song
Also, during Dangerous, the silence where the call and response should go for the Full speed ahead reprise hits so hard
Poseidon :
19:10 - 19:44 - The words I said were calculated .....
19:45 - * remember and is shocked*
19:50 - ....but boy, am I bad at math....
"I love you" might have just been a calculated stab...
I totally agree with you! Even though it was wrong, almost anyone would do the same!
If I'm remembering the mythology correctly, she's cursed to remain on the island and fall in love with anyone who arrives there as her own personal hell for supporting her father Atlas against the gods.
I agree mostly but I would never keep someone i truly loved trapped if I knew how much pain they were in. That would hurt me more than letting them go
@@0401tri that's healthy love if i had to guess her curse is not that but to develop the kind of love that borders on obsessive madness sort of yandere esk you sort of see that when shes first introduced with the way she responds to ody's answer to "who is Penlope"

Well, that was supposed to be the biggest trouble of all💀
I think he meant after Calypso's Island 😂
He 100% meant AFTER leaving Calypso's island, not the entirety of the Odyssey. He means that in the original Poseidon doesn't confront Ody while he's still sailing home on his li'l arts and crafts raft lol.
@@WittySomething Yeah yeah, I know but is not as funny in your way.
He was talking about in the original text, not Epic
I love how Odysseus' vengeance is so deserved and Jorge does such a fantastic job with the narrative that every one who reacts to 600 strike just suspends disbelief and WATCHES SILENTLY TILL THE END. Like, everyones sp caught in the music, the universal reaction is: a mortal took on Poseidon? About damn time 😅
i love how you can see the water forming posiden's face right at the beginnig of get in the water
This, exactly this.
THANK YOU
Finally someone who gets it. None of it is intentional on her part, she's probably literally never learned how to interact with anyone.

I love the ending of 600 Strikes because I know the Odyssey pretty (been a while since I’ve read it) and I have always wanted Odysseus to just beat the shit out of someone. So happy it finally happened
In some tales Calypso was the daughter of Atlas and placed on an alone island as punishment for siding with her father in the war against Kronos.
Loved the reaction!

THE NEW SAGA JUST RELEASED!!! I CANT WAIT FOR YOUR REACTION!!!
She's a nature deity. A minor goddess...i.e. Nymph
someone said that Poseidon's scream was melodic because it was music to Odysseus' ears.
I hope you can react to Duvetbox’s 600 strike animatic. I think you’d like that one

People applyiing their own version o Calypso on epics version is crazy work
When you say "their own version" do you mean the original version or like people's interpretation of calypso in epic or something else entirely
Water is scared of Ody now
This musical has officially topped Hamilton and Beetlejuice for me, and those have been fighting for the top spot on my list for years now, and it's not even Broadway!
I think it doesn’t harm the actual song at all, and there are a million ways to interpret how he fights Poseidon without the jet pack.
i mean agree to disagree. i think the style makes it more EPIC "pun intended"
I think that's a bit over dramatic.
@@BeyondTrash-xe1vs It's just my own personal experience. I am happy that people enjoyed it, it just wasn't for me sadly

There’s a theory that the red eyes are from Ares giving Ody a buff to make it up to Athena for what she had to go through to free Ody.
Calypso is cured to fall in love with anyone who washes up on her island that is what the I hate that I fell in love with you thing is about.
I'm Not Sorry For Loving You has beautiful music and Calypso's VA has a beautiful voice... However it doesn't change my mind that I'm not a fan of Calypso
Yeah we've all had the same reaction hearing Polites again.
But that's just me, please don't come for me 😅
i believe jorge has said that it was implied. if you watch his shorts and are on the epic discord you get more info on his stuff
Im greek
I personally didnt like Calypso until her song in this saga. It doesnt excuse the things that she did, but it does humanize her and who she is in this story. Shes a goddess who was lonely and thought the gods had sent her someone to love and cherish her on her island for as long as they lived. She fell in love with him, but he could never have loved her. Now be that a coincidence or her being mocked by something she can never have is up in the air for me
I do feel bad for her, though, even though I'm happy that he got to leave
Coming bck to say the song no longer you for-told all the events leading up to this
I might be mistaken but I remember Poseidon confronting Odysseus but Athena gives him a scarf that let's him breath underwater.
Ino gave him a veil.

Yes, I feel exactly the same!

Please, PLEASE check out some of the animatics if you can, it really adds to the songs, especially this saga with “i’m not sorry for loving you” and shows that it’s really kind of a manipulation tactic & trying to gain sympathy from Ody, not that she’s a good person.

3:00 Calypso is a goddess , not a nymph
I fully agree with having mixed feelings about her though
She's a victim too, trapped on the island just like Ody, but she also assaulted him repeatedly and was just generally toxic
But instead of apologising for all of her actions, she apologises for a few small things and then says it's his fault because 'her love is too much for him'
