Honestly Perceptor is honestly one of my favorite Autobots in the G1 cartoon. I always loved it that the Autobots weren't strictly composed of soldiers, they were also scientists too. I enjoyed Perceptor's enthusiasm to anything related to science and I wanna point out the Transformer's Go!Go! manga for highlighting such an underrated trait of Perceptor. It may be for a young audience but it's done such an amazing job in characterizing the g1 characters imo.
Perceptor has always been one of my favorite characters, since his scientific approach shows more then what the other Autobots are able to see at first glance, meaning Perceptor shows the meaning of the phrase: "more then meets the eye."
I think there should be more stories involving Preceptor and Brawn, they work so well off each other. Heck, the stories could make them like one of those old detective stories. You could call it Brains & Gains: Cybertronian Detectives For Hire.
Throwing in Panthro from Thundercats & Donatello from TMNT plus Billy from MMPR, you gave us a hint why nerds shouldn't be underestimated, Rodimus!!! Even having C3PO as background crowd showed what it means to be brainy for a protocol droid. In Transformers, we have 3 of them, Perceptor, BeachComber and Cosmos!!! Without the knowledge to tinker with chips, the Autobots would have lost many times to the Decepticons!!! This is valuable to the team, keep the videos coming, Rodimus!!! Till all are one!!!

I love how NGSMOOV picked up Paul Eiding to do their "Perceptor vs Cereal (Energon-O's)" commercial, it was hysterical and great. "Oh. ....oh, my." "But I do not think it is safe for Robotic Consumption, either." Perceptor was like the Commander Data of Transformers. (Or was Lt. Commander Data like the Perceptor of Star Trek TNG?)
He may be not a warrior nor soldier but Perceptor is a scientist. At least he's capable analyzing thesis of science and math. I liked the G1 Perceptor.
G1 Perceptor wasn't my favorite character, until I met Paul Eiding. Now I can't get enough of him, I didn't give him enough credit. Great retrospective as always, you did an amazing job once again.

Little piece of trivia I think you should’ve mentioned that when Hideaki Yoke retired hasbro, and Takara gave him both a original, G1 sealed, preceptor, and small statue of Perceptor; looking in the microscope lens on the statue reveals the words "Thank you"
I'm aware that they did, and I used the footage of that statue when talking about him. My hope that it was still honoring even if I didn't mention his retirement in this specific video.

Perceptor help us even Chip and Paul did a fantastic job voicing him. 2:48 Percy just a scientist but he is a sniper and a Wrecker. 9:49 Jim Ward is amazing voicing Perceptor so done well. 11:38 Indeed he is in the Autobots ranks Cyberverse and G1 of him plus his smart and scientific knowledge can be useful for the Wreckers also my favorite too nicely done work on Percy Rodimus Prime.
When you think about it, Autobot have a lot of talented individuals regarding wisdom. Grapple is one of the best architect. Hoist is an amazing engineer. Prowl & Jazz are two of the most gifted minds when it comes to military activities. Wheejack is an Autobot version of Einstein. And here, we have Perceptor - who is not only extremely good at but also shows genuinely love to science serving civil engineering & heavy industry. I myself study about mechanical engineer to i could relate.
I agree! I could have used someone like Perceptor during my time at CSUMB or Califonia State University Monterey Bay as I struggled greatly with my Intro to Statistics class. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't understand the concepts.
There's plenty more to come. I've done quite a few in 2023. Just that they didn't get the traction they should have. Now I'm doing what I can to go full steam ahead in 2024.
Perceptor is one of my Favorite Autobot in the Transformers Franchise and I especially liked his Animated Counterpart. I do hope that we'll see this Brilliant Autobot Scientist make his Big Screen debut.
Just purchased a couple weeks ago SS86 Perceptor packaged with SS81 Wheeljack for a combined 20 bucks at Walmart. Over a year ago I could have nabbed him from Target, but glad I passed up on him. In the original G1 Cartoon, I always liked his voice and character intellect as a scientist.
A neighbor got the black Microchange version before we received the Wave 2 catalog, so we didn't know it would become Perceptor. We thought of it as a knockoff competitor to TFs. But once we found out the truth, we actually liked the MC version more. It felt special and rare.
I loved the urbane-yet-mechanical voice Paul Eiding gave Perceptor. And I love that he got good screen time in Seasons two and three. I didn't love IDW's take on him. But then, I liked VERY LITTLE of what IDW did with The Transformers.

I always thought it was fascinating that Animated Perceptor used the text to voice, I miss that particular form of computer innovation being used for traditionally robotic voices.
my old G1 Percy is long gone, but I got the reissue (had to get it from Toys R us and it came in a box with a flap - it MIGHT have been the 25th anniversary release but I forget), the Reveal the Shield one, and SS86. I also have the Heroes of Cybertron PVC Perceptor.
I like the g1 cartoon version of Perceptor. Paul Eiding, who did the voice, was in the tv show The Charmings and appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I love the cameos for the other famous 80's cartoons. I always thought Perceptor also functioned as a telescope, didn't he show Cybertron to Spike in G1? Also, this is a stretch, would a Haslab life-sized working Perceptor microscope be a hit?
What a fascinating turn of events? As I had considered the possibility of us receiving a new representation of Armada Preceptor in the Legacy toyline earlier today? I am sighting the Universe character, the name of whom I have forgotten, who is a "miniature Decepticon," Minicon for short, team who combine into a deluxe scale figure. That certainly appears to be the most logical coarse of action for Hasbro to take, should they decide to do so.

Also No doubt that Perceptor earn his spot with the Autobots proving that once again brains are better defeating an enemy(as well as solving solution) than brawn(no pun intended). I love the cameos for the other famous 80's cartoons. I always thought Perceptor also functioned as a telescope, didn't he show Cybertron to Spike in G1? Also, this is a stretch, would a Haslab life-sized working Perceptor microscope be a hit?

What a fascinating turn of events? As I had considered the possibility of us receiving a new representation of Armada Preceptor in the Legacy toyline earlier today? I am sighting the Universe character, the name of whom I have forgotten, who is a "miniature Decepticon," Minicon for short, team who combine into a deluxe scale figure. That certainly appears to be the most logical coarse of action for Hasbro to take, should they decide to do so.
