It's interesting how Casey Kasem used his "Shaggy on Scooby Doo" voice for Bluestreak, while Cliffjumper decisively had his "Robin on Superfriends" voice. It definitely fit.
I’ve always preferred his original name Bluestreak. Because of the colloquialism of him being a motormouth, indicative of his personality and how it’s in juxtaposition to his exterior color.
"Keep drivin' like that an' ya won't LIVE long enough to win [that million dollars]! Not that that'd be any great tragedy..." The og profile of Bluestreak has such an amazing lore that's hardly ever referenced in TF lore. I mean surviving the total destruction of his city(it being Praxus in some continuities), hating the war that unfortunately dragged him, all while coping with the tramua by chattering away until his lip components probably broke down... already you have such a great premise of a story. Bluestreak and along with the destruction of Praxus are such a huge fixation of TF lore of mine that I'm kinda surprised that it's not picked on by much. As for the Silverstreak and Bluestreak debate, in my headcanon I think that they're separate bots. I totally agree! I love the comics Dreamwave did and one of my favorite moments in War and Peace was this one panel where Bluestreak talked about how the Decepticons slaughtered a city of merchants and how defending themselves after that was not a crime. I always thought that he looked absolutely haunted as he said that.

His need to avenge his home city and the inhabitants who fell victim to the Decepticons makes him a determined and a vengeful destructive force to Decepticons on the road and in the battlefield. His speed, venge-filled tendencies, and firepower makes him a great addition to the Wreckers!! His explosive volt shoulder cannons and customized sniper-repeater rifle makes him as skilled of an Autobot gunner like Bluestreak and an absolute speeding bolt of destructive lighting to every Decepticon! His diaclone colors of blue with a silver hood and roof with accent colors of white and yellow are his colors!

The G1 Datsun Brother toys had a bit of an identity crisis. Takara couldn't make up their minds exactly which kind of car they were supposed to be based on. Takara packaged the Diaclone Car Robos as Fairlady Z's. That would indicate that they were based upon the Nissan S130 Fairlady Z 2nd Gen car. They even had Fairlady Z bumper stickers. The Diaclone sports car variant was labeled as a "280Z Tbar Roof". The 280 implied it had the big 2.8L/2800cc engine, which was corroborated by the "2800" hip stickers in bot mode. This engine had such a high displacement that Nihon/Japan placed a premium emissions tax on it in real Fairlady Z's, making it a rare version of the car. However, the hood points us in a different direction. The normally aspirated 280Z had tapering trapezoid air vents with longitudinal louvers on the hood. But the Datsun Brothers all have the parallelogram air vents with horizontal louvers and a triangular left-side NACA air inlet duct on the hoods, which are telltale signs of the turbo version of the car. The sports car variant even had "Turbo" stickers on the fenders. That would seem to make the Datsun Bros Fairlady 280Z Turbos. However, in Nihon, the 2.8L engine was not allowed to be sold with a turbocharger for environmental reasons. A turbo could only be used on 2.0L engines or smaller at the time. So there was no Fairlady Z 280Z Turbo there. And the Sky Spy drone could not have observed any such vehicle to base the Transformer carbots on. But over in America, there was a Datsun 280ZX Turbo by Nissan. And this is the actual car that the Datsun Bros appear to have been based upon. Specifically, Bluestreak/Streak/Silverstreak would appear to be a 1981 Datsun HLS130J 280ZX Turbo GL Series 1 grand tourer coupe, modified with 1982+ Series 2 taillights. The "H" stood for the higher-than-2.0L, 2.8L capacity engine. The "L" stood for left hand drive, as is standard in the US, and as was animated in the G1 toon. The S130 was the basic 2G model number for both the Fairlady Z and ZX cars. And the "J" designated the highest luxury trim level available for the car, including the T-bar or T-top roof option. On the 280ZX, this was also indicated by "GL". Series 1 cars could be identified by the fact that the front and rear bumpers did not wrap all the way around to the wheel arches. There was a bit of a gap with exposed body color paint visible. S1 was produced from 1978.5 to 1981.5. The turbo option was also introduced in 1981. And the Series 2 taillights had vertical white backup light lenses that transversed both the orange turn signal lenses and the red stoplight lenses. S2 came along in mid 1981. The Takara Masterpiece mold mucks all this up again, but in a different way. It turns the 3 molds back into 280Z's as they would have appeared in Nihon in the 1980s, without turbo hoods, and with fender mirrors. Although the G1 early Autobots were all based in Portland, Oregon, USA, according to the lore, and they therefore rightfully had the Americanized 280ZX Turbo molds as disguised alt modes, nevertheless Takara de-Americanized the cars for G1 MP. In G1, Streak's weapons were said to be an ion-disperser rifle that shot electrified particles like lightning bolts/a laser gun; and twin shoulder-mounted quadruple-warhead rocket missile/bomb launchers. The blue lightning bolt rifle tied in with his name, just like his nervous nonstop chatter. I think of Bluestreak, Mirage, and Hound as being the most reluctant Autobots, disliking the Great War the most. They fight well when they must, but for different reasons, their hearts just aren't in it. Maybe they got recruited under false pretenses or overhyped propaganda to the Autobot cause. Or perhaps they were drafted.
Philip Clarke is one of my favorite voice actors: Dead End, Auggie Cahnay Victor Drath, Matthew Burke in G.I. Joe "The Spy Who Rooked Me." Auggie Cahnay: That does it! And I'm not taking it anymore! 7:38 Dead End: That's right. Cause we're taking your car.
I hope our yapping gunner can get some love in shows or movies cuz I was so happy to see him in Earthrise. He’s my favorite out of the Datsun Brothers fs especially cuz of his grey, black and red colors
Bluestreak is a fascinating Autobot. When I watch the G1 cartoon, he reminded me a lot like Shaggy since his voice sounded identical. While Prowl is more better, I won’t lie that Bluestreak is a fun and heroic Autobot and like when Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are paired in battle, it’s always fun to see the dynamic of Prowl and Bluestreak in the G1 show!
I always like and remember Bluestreak in red, black and silver, that color fit him so good. Silverstreak blue, yellow and silver more. Bluestreak should return and Silversteak join in too. Nice work.
I always thought of them as Silverstreak was silver, Bluestreak was grey, and Streak was blue. using the IDW way of how bots came to be they were all part of the same spark cluster with Prowl connected to them and Barricade's spark connected to Prowl. Smokescreen connected to the spark cluster as well.
I think of them as all hailing from Praxus. Bluestreak happened to survive the assault itself, while the rest were away from the city when it fell. Makes me wonder if Barricade was the corrupt one on the force that opened the city up to fall for the Decepticons.
My head cannon: the Datsuns are all brothers. Prowl is the oldest, followed by Smokescreen, then twins Bluestreak and Silverstreak. Silverstreak is too lazy and self-centered to join the Autobots, hence why we never see him in G1. Additionally, the Legacy Silverstreak with the ToyHax Prime Smokescreen labels applied is MEANSTREAK, an Autobot from a parallel universe.
I can imagine a version of Bluestreak who was like a veteran. Originally believing that joining the military would be fun, he would come to realise war was terrible, he would then become a recluse. However, the 2nd Cybertron civil war forced him to join the Autobot resistance, making him become bitter, cynical, and jaded. While on Earth, he met some humans who thought just like he did when he was a young bot, so he enlightened them about the horrors of war, and in turn began to become more hopeful, now realizing his true purpose.
4:11 Man, its really weird listening to someone else refer to the events that unfolded when many a Transformer was offlined by a cosmically-powered Starscream.
When I was a kid I was confused by his name and color. Now I just find the whole thing including the silver streak aspect plain irritating. Great retrospective thou really enjoyed it.
My head canon about Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen is that Prowl usually being the tactical genius cop, Bluestreak being a rookie cop working as Prowl's partner and smokescreen was a known to be a repeated gambler who recently got a arrested by prowl and Smokescreen. Bluestreak and Smokescreen have their chat from time to time but Prowl always inform bluestreak about his duty as a force of the law. As the war started Prowl, blue streak and possibly other Cybertronian cops were under attacked by decepticons to release prisoners including Smokescreen for nifarious purposes and while being out gunned and as the riots overwhelmed them Smokescreen reluctantly help and even aided them because despite him both Prowl doesn't trust smokecreen but bluestreak would vouch for smokescreen due to the many times they arrested him and the worked together to survive as Bluestreak forms as the glue of the trio. As for the G1 movie, when he realize that prowl died in the line of duty Bluestreak will grow depress while smokescreen tries to keep his spirit going.
This is how my bio for Bluestreak should go: Bluestreak (in his Diaclone colors) and Silverstreak (in Bluestreak's future colors) were best friends who fought alongside Optimus Prime when the war broke out on Cybertron. When the day that the Autobots left Cybertron came, Bluestreak, Silverstreak, Punch (the double agent), and Nightbeat (who had yet to become a Headmaster, and you'll see why) were on patrol when they were suddenly ambushed by Decepticons, with the ambush costing the lives of Silverstreak and Nightbeat. Before dying, Silverstreak and Nightbeat ordered Bluestreak and Punch, respectively, to scan their color schemes as a way to remember them before leaving to join the other Autobots for the exodus from Cybertron. Haunted by what he had witnessed, Bluestreak told Punch that they had to go their separate ways, with Bluestreak, now going by the color scheme that we know him by, taking to talking up a blue streak in order to get his mind off the war and Silverstreak's death, giving more meaning to his name. The reason I included Punch-Counterpunch and Nightbeat in the bio is due to Punch's Earthrise toy, whose color scheme was similar to that of Nightbeat's, being a blue car with a yellow stripe running along the bottm.
Yeah I remember that. I made something awesome out of the bad QC though with both a Silverstreak AND a Barricade since I didn't get official releases of them.
I think Transformers media should use more of the background characters and build them up. So then we have more toys of them or powered up versions on them
I like the idea of two characters with names that better match the others design. Maybe they swapped minds at some point and as such they swapped names as well, and after some initial confusion everyone got used to the switch? I also like the "twins with opposite personalities" idea.

Bluestreak, Prowl, Smokescreen & Silverstreak are brothers, Just go down the Color Theme..Redstreak, Purplestreak. Brownstreak & so on...Like with the Seekers, Differernt Color Shemes
while they could be separate characters, i like to think of Silverstreak as an upgraded form for Bluestreak (much like how Galvatron is the reincarnation of Megatron and Goldbug is the upgraded form of Bumblebee)
In my story, my version of Blustreak is female and is siblings with Prowl (who is still male and is the oldest) and Smokescreen (who is female and the youngest).
I got this guy twice, but I gave one to a friend for Christmas mine I want him as Prime Beast Hunters smokescreen. I would want a second as a tlk barricade.

Prowl's face @6:00 gave me flashbacks to the 84 movie. Poor cop bot.
Edit: @9:07 yup, that's the one.
Philip Clarke is one of my favorite voice actors: Dead End, Auggie Cahnay Victor Drath, Matthew Burke in G.I. Joe "The Spy Who Rooked Me."
Auggie Cahnay: That does it! And I'm not taking it anymore!
7:38 Dead End: That's right. Cause we're taking your car.
What a chatty gunner. Talks a bluestreak
Again, thank you, you always do wonderful work.
And i prefer the Name Bluestreak too! It sounds like Strength and Speed!!!
I hope our yapping gunner can get some love in shows or movies cuz I was so happy to see him in Earthrise. He’s my favorite out of the Datsun Brothers fs especially cuz of his grey, black and red colors
RIP Kasey Kasum too🪦⚰️🙍🏻♂️😞.
I hope we get new molds of Prowl , Bluestreak, and Smokescreen that do NOT have clear plastic.
I always like and remember Bluestreak in red, black and silver, that color fit him so good. Silverstreak blue, yellow and silver more. Bluestreak should return and Silversteak join in too. Nice work.
I enjoyed the idea he was just way too talkative. I never thought about the color scheme.
Surf's up! And I'm talkin' UP!
EDIT: Damnit! Of course that was the last scene in the video. Well played!
good job about Discussion and Review of Bluestreak Retrospective - The Chatty Autobot Gunner. Why Isn't He Blue? from Transformers
The first time we ever saw a Transformer. My brother got Prowl and I got Blue streak.
Still holds a special place in my heart.
I named my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Bluestreak!
Sir this is why I fell in love with your channel. Can't wait for what you do next. As always, your servant Warren.
I love to see more of him in the future
You're finally back!!!
4:11 Man, its really weird listening to someone else refer to the events that unfolded when many a Transformer was offlined by a cosmically-powered Starscream.
I don’t think I ever realized that Smokescreen shared the same mold. The only original cars I had were Mirage and Wheeljack.
One of the greatest mysteries of the 80s!!!!
When I was a kid I was confused by his name and color. Now I just find the whole thing including the silver streak aspect plain irritating. Great retrospective thou really enjoyed it.
When I was a kid, I used to call Bluestreak, Redstreak, since that matched his colors more.
Nice update
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it. Happy birthday BTW!
@@RodimusPrimal thx! I also like your take on SilverStreak
@@SilverStreak9841uoattob hi dude how are you today
Awesome Retrospective!💙
My head canon about Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen is that Prowl usually being the tactical genius cop, Bluestreak being a rookie cop working as Prowl's partner and smokescreen was a known to be a repeated gambler who recently got a arrested by prowl and Smokescreen. Bluestreak and Smokescreen have their chat from time to time but Prowl always inform bluestreak about his duty as a force of the law.
As the war started Prowl, blue streak and possibly other Cybertronian cops were under attacked by decepticons to release prisoners including Smokescreen for nifarious purposes and while being out gunned and as the riots overwhelmed them Smokescreen reluctantly help and even aided them because despite him both
Prowl doesn't trust smokecreen but bluestreak would vouch for smokescreen due to the many times they arrested him and the worked together to survive as Bluestreak forms as the glue of the trio.
As for the G1 movie, when he realize that prowl died in the line of duty Bluestreak will grow depress while smokescreen tries to keep his spirit going.
This is how my bio for Bluestreak should go:
Bluestreak (in his Diaclone colors) and Silverstreak (in Bluestreak's future colors) were best friends who fought alongside Optimus Prime when the war broke out on Cybertron.
14:41 Reminds me of your Transformers QC rant. Where you said he was a Wallgreens exclusive.
Yeah I remember that. I made something awesome out of the bad QC though with both a Silverstreak AND a Barricade since I didn't get official releases of them.
Bluestreak is my top 10 favorite Autobot
I think Transformers media should use more of the background characters and build them up. So then we have more toys of them or powered up versions on them
I like the idea of two characters with names that better match the others design. Maybe they swapped minds at some point and as such they swapped names as well, and after some initial confusion everyone got used to the switch? I also like the "twins with opposite personalities" idea.
Hi Rodimus, even though you're Asleep Great video about Blue streak Retrospective- The Chatty Autobot Gunner. Why Isn't He Blue? Keep them coming, Also your latest video was outstanding, Also Blue streak is also know for being a chatter box. Also Bluestreak is not only one of my best and most favorite Autobot Car, not only is Bluestreak one of my best and most favorite Transformer, but also Bluestreak is one of my best and most favorite Autobots of all time, Also Bluestreak may have not much presence in canon media but the fans sure like writing him. Also Bluestreak is voiced by The late great Actor Casey Kasem, and It's interesting how Casey Kasem used his "Shaggy on Scooby Doo" voice for Bluestreak, while Cilffjumped decisively had his "Robin on Super friends" voice. It definitely fit. Also may Casey continue to rest peacefully, also the voice actor of Shaggy zoinks like how can you forget him. Also A new retrospective upload is alwaysva nice welcome to have. Also my favorite Bluestreak moment had to be him"Surfing up" during The Ultimate Doom: during The Ultimate Doom: Revival. A tidal wave! Also"Keep driving like that an' ya won't LIVE long enough to win(that million dollars)! Not that'd be any great tragedy" Blue Streak telling this crap human or should I say Augie Canhay(Augie Canhay 6'3"(adult,cah,225ibs(adult)'that it didn't matter if he died was one of my favorite moments from G1! Okay maybe Bluestreak was simply running his mouth(as usual) Also it was Savage. Augie Canhay was a jerk Or should I say A Heroic Jerk on the side of Good and I too loved it! Also Rest in Power or should I say Rest in Peace, Casey Kasem. Also my favorite version of Bluestreak is the G1 Cartoon version of Bluestreak who made regular appearances in the first two seasons of The G1 Cartoon The Transformers, Bluestreak was equipped with his Shoulder- mounted Cannons this went along with his function as a gunner as he fired on Decepticons usually by surprise, also Bluestreak always tried to lighten up everyone's mood with a quick joke, Sometimes his chatter fell a little flat among his teammates, and Despite his disdain for war,Bluestreak never ever hesitated to help his fellow Autobots such as when Ironhide chased down the Decepticons after they had escaped from a Crystal Mine, When Skywarp shot down Ironhide Blue Streak quickly came to his aid, Also Bluestreak is my favorite Autobots. Also in the movie I think he is alive somewhere. Also Bluestreak was one of my favorite characters. So glad you made this Retrospective, thank you. Also Great video. Forgot how much of a sense of humor Bluestreak had in the G1 Cartoon. Also as always Great video Rodimus Primal! I hope Bluestreak appears in a new Transformers series, and I too have the idea that Silver streak is a separate character, Keep on being amazing. Also, Phillip Clarke is one of my favorite voices actors:1.Dead End,2.Auggie Cahany,3.Victor Death,4.Matthew Burke in G.I. Joe " The Spy Who Rooked Me" Auggie Canhay: That does it! And I'm not talking it anymore! 7:38 Dead End That's right we're taking your car. Also Bluestreak was always my favorite of the Datsun brothers, Also Bluestreak was my favorite Autobot from the 84 line. Bluestreak is my top 10 favorite Autobot, Also Awesome Retrospective💚 Also The Datsuns are all brothers. Prowl is the oldest, followed by Smokescreen, then twins Bluestreak and Silverstreak, Also The Datsun Brothers are my best and most favorite Autobots of all time,Also the following information is From the following Comic Books and Trade PaperBacks they are:1.Transformers Universe(limited, Mini-series)#1(of)4(1986),2.Transformers More than Meets The Eye(limited, Maxi-series)#1(of)8(2003),3.Transformers More than Meets The Eye Official Guidebook Volume1 Trade PaperBack(Dreamwave),4.Cybertronian: The Unofficial Recognition Guide Trade PaperBack Volume 1(2001),5.The Unofficial Guide to Transformers Paperback(1999),6.Transformers The Ark: the Complete Compendium Volume 1 Trade Paperback(2007),7.Transformers The Ark The Complete Ark Omnibus Trade PaperBack(2009),8.Transformers More than Meets The Eye Official Guidebook Volume 1 Trade PaperBack(IDW Publishing, 2008), 9. Transformers Legacy The Art of Transformers Packaging Trade PaperBack/Softcover(IDW Publishing, 2019),10. The Unofficial Guide To Vintage Transformers 1980's through 1990's Trade PaperBack/Softcover(2017),& 11.Transformers A Visual History Hardcover(2019), Allegiance(as of 2024): Autobot, Function/Primary Function(as of 2024): Gunner, Transformation(as of 2024): Datsun Fairlady Z(280ZX), Also as a G1 fan I always found Bluestreak more memorable than Prowl. Partially because of Casey Kasem' s instantly recognizable voice coupled with the fact he talks so much. He's got a more defined personality too. Bluestreak was always my favorite of the Datsun Brothers. Also thank you for sharing Rodimus keep up the good work stay safe out there in Florida have a goodnight and until next time TILL ALL ONE.🙂💪🟢🇺🇸🏋️🦸👊
2:16 am.
Bluestreak, Prowl, Smokescreen & Silverstreak are brothers, Just go down the Color Theme..Redstreak, Purplestreak. Brownstreak & so on...Like with the Seekers, Differernt Color Shemes
Bluestreak, mirage and hound are my favourite G1 cars. All have shoulder cannons or missiles 😂
Another extremely enjoyable video!
Bluestreak was my favorite Autobot from the 84 line.
I almost confused Datson with Dyson!!! 😂 That being said, a Vacuum Squad would be a funny concept to see in the future.
I bet Bluestreak felt so blue after being sidelined numerous times
Bluestreak, along with Trailbreaker, doesn't seem to get a lot of love and attention
while they could be separate characters, i like to think of Silverstreak as an upgraded form for Bluestreak (much like how Galvatron is the reincarnation of Megatron and Goldbug is the upgraded form of Bumblebee)
My favorite version is G1 with silver & black.
I always thought Bluestreak's name was more a metaphor "Blue streak" means going fast.
Cllifjumper once said that Spiderman remainds him about Bluestreak
We should have Bluestreak and Silverstreak as another set of Autobot car brothers
I always wondered why he was silver and not blue when I was a kid.
I like bluestreak
Excellent!
Dot-Sun
Bluestreak is the only WFC siege Autobot that I own.
7:20 Ladies and Gentlemen - The Transformers One Man Show - Casey Kasem, Casey Kasem and Casey Kasem.
Great video 👍
