When I was 15-16 in the late 80's, New Order were my favorite band and "True Faith" was my favorite song. It's about pain, addiction, self destruction and loss. Kestner's cover of "True Faith" shows it's a great song. She wrung out that much more pain and emotion. The simple acoustic guitar and voice is haunting and reminds me of losses that I have experience. This cover is incredible and takes "True Faith" in a whole different direction.

There’s something about the verse “When I was a very small girl, Very small girls talked to me, Now that we've grown up together, They're afraid of what they see” that speaks to me. It makes me think of childhood friends you grew up with, even female friends as you get older you begin to feel more than friendship for them. It reminds of the first friend I ever made when I was in 1st grade. She was a girl who took a liking to me at a time when friendship wasn’t something I cared to have but she soon grew on me. We lost touch after I changed schools but we got back in touch after I lost my brother to a drug overdose and it felt good being around her after all these years. She grew up beautiful and she gave me my first kiss.
