Glad you liked this... They have a very good sale going on right now, if you buy the right model you can get a fiber laser for free. Soon I will be adding a Fiber to the SHOP.. I want to make some challenge coins. I am also working on something related to glass, sort of an INVENTION or an improvement to the method that is used. More on that in the near future. Not at all. I love my CNC, Just make a really cool knife holder and box with it. Came out great. As I go forward on the channel you will see more and more using both what I will call shop anchor tools.
I have been debating whether to get the Eon or the Thunder laser. The thing that I like most about the Eon is the compactness of the machine. However, I now lean more toward getting the Thunder laser. I want to get input from someone who has both the Eon machine and the Thunder machine. I bet most people that come here to know more about the Eon laser also has the Thunder laser in the back of his/her head as the other comparable choice. I find the following youtube video very helpful on making the decision if you are on the fence on which one to get (Eon vs Thunder). George made a good point on going to the "Eon Experience" event to know which laser is best to buy. But if you do not have the means to go to the show for first hand experience, then watch this youtube clip of this person who has both the Eon laser and the Thunder laser.

Congratulations George on the Eon Mira 7 machine. I hope to get my C02 laser soon too. But first have to have keep my promise to my wife to clean up the garage in order for me to get laser. :-)
I had sort of the same debate in my mind. If you go to the Aeon Experience, you will see the difference. I do not want to talk badly about anyone but one of the things that I see is, the number of people that talk about "pass through doors" and then they back the machine up to a wall, where they can not use it. Aeon did a great thing putting them all into the same place for people to see. Also, I took real objection to someone totally missing the point and making fun of the Aeon Belt Drive system. Here is what I saw, Aeon has a laser head drive system like the Epilog and Trotec. And other top rail manufactures made fun of Aeon for this but they dare not attack Epilog for the same system. I do not know where you are on the planet, but I highly suggest you go look at them all in the same place. Aeon has a lot going on, they are an expanding company not just some Drop Shipper! I saw the video you mentioned also and it along with a few others is what drove me to the "Aeon Experience" And I got to talk to the very people who will help me. THANK YOU FOR A Great Comment. My desire is everyone get the right machine for the JOB.
@@GeorgeKennerLaser Hello George. Thanks for the respond. First off, I am in San Diego. If only the Aeon Experience was held in San Diego, I would gladly attend the event. Anyway, yeah, you are right about the pass through feature that is mostly not used often if the machine is up against the wall. Even if it is moved to try to use it, then it would snag the exhaust vent hose that is attached to the window. However, what do you think of the limited z-axis of Mira? That is a big disadvantage compared to the Thunder laser. What about the auto focus needle that can drag the object while cutting and some users would have to take that off. I heard that Aeon Mira uses better laser tube that last much longer than the one used by Thunder so that is a big plus of the Eon laser.
@@doctorpd1959 So the Depth of the Z is always a issue when thinking about buying, I calculated the know depths and the things i would engrave. The Mira 7 worked so why did I need more. (EGO, wink, and I have limited space.) The Mira 9 is of course a bit bigger, but if you go to the AEON NOVA it is the exact same ballpark as the Thunder Nova. I can not stress fit and finish enough. Seeing them in person makes a big difference in my book. Everyone wants to sell their machine , but who buys the other guys so people can compare. To me this was advantage Aeon. I come to San Diego all the time, but m y shop is in Yuma. If you want to talk to me or come visit my shop, and do a test burn, by all means. Working on a video now that shows Paper, Foam Board, Wood. Along with a project that could make people money. If your doing this for business and think you may buy more than one machine, its a write off. (right?) Go!
One thing I want to point out (I am not biased as I am in the market and like you, am considering Aeon vs Thunder) is that that comparison video is not apples to apples. She's comparing a Mira 9 vs Nova 63. That's not an equivalent comparison at all. A Mira 9 should be compared to a Nova 35. That's 2 bed sizes higher. (35-->51-->63).
Look up the lady from Pate ranch, she does some serious commercial work and went on this journey. I went with Thunder. I think its splitting hairs in places. I didn't like the focusing mechanism on the Aeon, but hey I almost never use autofocus now anyway. The integration in the Aeon is nice, but China sells the Aeon 7 directly with 80w tubes. When I asked the US branch why they didn't stock this, the answer was the engineering for passive cooling wasn't good enough to support it. I think its concerning to me that the 7 has passive cooling and they choose to rewire the machines, although I hear they are solid. When lurking on the fb groups for both vendors for 3 months I felt like the Thunder groups was more welcoming and had better answers to problems. Again subjective. I chose Thunder. I may choose Aeon in the future. I will say the ship to door pricing on the Aeon turned out to be horrendous and much more than Thunder.
