Hearing about your family is a joy. You have raised a find family and it shows in the affection of your grandchildren. Beautiful! I'm not surprised you got a bit burnt out; you really pushed out the makes at the retreat. Casual ephemera making is no less exciting or inspiring in my book...just keeping you company and soaking it all in. I love it when you talk about your family. Clearly, you have raised loving kids, who in turn are passing it forward and raising loving kids. Pat yourself on the back, these things don’t happen by accident.
My kids have a long list of degrees from prestigious universities, and have gone on to accomplish great things in their job life, and of course I’m proud of them for that - but what I’m most proud of is that they have turned out to be beautiful human beings (as has my grandson). I’m allowing myself to take some of the credit for that. This world needs good people. We did great Gayle, we did great!

Morning Ms Gayle our children and husbands are the light of our eye. Your daughter’s graduation is awesome. We have 2 children our daughter is a blah blah blah for an insurance company and our son come home from the war disabled (he is good). She is unable to have children but is the best aunt ever he has 2 children that are just awesome I can’t think of life without them. We have to hold our family close. As I’ve said life has thrown us a curve ball but it’s going to be ok it’s in gods hands. I enjoy your videos helps keep my mind busy even if I can’t get in my studio right now. Thank you

Hi Gayle! I JUST finished cutting the 3.5 x 8.25 pages down to 3 x 7.75 for the rest of the Envelope Notebooks. (I had cut the envelopes bigger until I realized that I was wasting paper. A 12x12 sheet can be cut into 4 6x6 pieces, & that was more practical. They're smaller, but just as cute!!)

Hi Gayle .. lovely to hear about your family as usual! I always crack up when you cut off the butterflies antennas and make no qualms about cutting them off! 😂 I was at retreat a couple of weeks ago and side eyed watched as someone used the cut off extra bits of waxed linen from her sewn in signatures to make antennas for the butterflies .. she put knots on each end, folded it in half and glued it in place! 😘

I always cut off the antenna with the intention of drawing them on and then I always forget. I think using the little leftover bits from sewing in signatures is a cute idea. Gives a little extra texture too.
It is unbelievable that your daughter Mary was able to complish getting her degree, two jobs, raise four kids, support a husband, and maintain a home. She is the best example of a super woman. I know her hubby has to get some praise for being there for her and supporting she along her journey. 😊😊😊❤❤❤

I loved what you got done today and I get being burned out. You outdid yourself before and at your retreat. I think it’s great to take some time to regroup and refresh. Good morning Gayle and friends! How blessed to have all your children celebrate each other! I was only blessed with one child and feel very fortunate that he found a lovely wife who treats me just like her mom. Love the idea of just taking all the bits and bobs around the craft table and out them to work!! (I have a tea cup instead of a bowl and a basket for the bigger stuff!). Wow it is so good to be able to watch one of your videos. My internet went out on April 29th. I have been waiting for a new provider to be wired in. It will not be hooked up until May 23. Another week. But my son told me I could watch on my phone. It is so small compared to my 55” tv. At least I have the hook up scheduled. It was a good video. Hugs from Texas.

It is so funny how often that you and I are on the same page. The other day I moved my desk and rearranged things on the desk and around me hoping everything would be more accessible. Since then I have been working on making ephemera for future journals. It’s not working. So today I was going to take everything off the desk and rearrange again and then take my bits bowl and decorate a bunch of tags. My bit bowl is over flowing onto the desk. But I woke up in the night and spent most of it running to the bathroom with a sick tummy. So instead of going forth in all my plans I am laying on the couch watching you make such pretty things from all your bits❤️😄. Now my mind really wants to get busy with mine but my tummy says, No no! You going to stay where you’re planted. So thanks for hanging out with me while I am planted🤪.

Perhaps this isn't an original idea. I have a butterfly stencil. Rather than trying to save the "antlers", (after I glue the butterfly to project) I put the stencil over the butterfly body and draw "antlers". Works great for me. :)
