Bienvenidos Muses!!! ITs #hispanichertiagemonth Mama Muses is back and this time she's teaching us how to make Sancocho Dominicano!!!! Ftc: Not Sponsored
Your grandma is so cute. As soon as she said “como estan mis hijos, bendiciones.” I automatically said “bendicion wela” like she was my grandma as well.
Yeah but this is cooked by non black Latinos aswell. In the south we all were pretty much slaves for the white Spaniards and Portuguese who colonized our countries and we had to start our own traditions.
erica Ortega Ok and culturally Black cuisine that was created by Black folks in the American south during their time in slavery is now also cooked by non Black people too. I don’t understand your point ... but as I said the cultures of African descendent people around the world bares similarities. As they should. I wasn’t talking about nobody else but Black people. Only Black folks. No other group was meant to be mentioned, matter, or considered where my comment is concerned. 😉
I learn so much and understood most of the conversation this time 🤣. I am trying to learn more to represent my Hispanic ancestry 🙃. Love this! Can’t wait until your mom’s next show and cooking lesson! Oh tell Iris, to share her ancestry results video- we may be cousins! 😂 (I’m kidding, but who knows 🤷🏽♀️)
Been craving this so long that i'm jealous to watch ya'll eat. This is the perfect time of the year for sancocho. Now we need an asopao recipe. perhaps with camrones. Shoutout to mami for reminding ppl to wash their meat. Always rule numero uno. Thank you ladies!
Omg afro latinas omg im so proud being of panamanian decent. Im balling like a baby. Although afro latinas come in all shades like black ppl. As well can come from the lightest of the light. An darkest of the dark. Love seeing these beauties make me super proud to be a afrolatina myself.

I’m part Scandinavian (Finnish) part East Africa, from Zanzibar and I can see the African influence in this dish. We call pot ‘sufuria’ in Swahili!!! ❤️
Thank you so much for this comment. I am writing a unit about using food, specifically sancocho, as archaeology to increase indigenous and afro diasporic voice in the classroom and I have been on the hunt for info like this. Can you tell me more?

They are Afro-latinas Evelyn Lozada!
RIGHTTTTTTT the definition of afro latina
Exactlyyyy
