I have some medical ✨trauma✨ so I get really nervous at the doctor. Once at urgent care the nurse took my heart rate and said the “huh” thing and that made it go even higher and then the alarm on the machine went off so I then became victim of a gas leak. Ended with the doctor putting his hand on my shoulder and informing me they were going to go ahead a sedate me 😌
Y’all had me at the beginning of this episode. I was locked in. I think the best episodes are when you guys just shoot the shit w/ no planned topics & the “am I the a-hole” segments r gold too. Srry for the unsolicited take

As someone with mild health anxiety and just always having something wrong with them at only 24 years old, listening to Connor's medical journey felt really relatable. My blood pressure will also just shoot up a bit every time I go to the doctor/any doctor's office. But high blood pressure also runs in my family so I hope you find the culprit Connor. I also have GERD so when I have sriracha my heart also hurts.
I would just like to say I am so happy you guys brought up the girl with the green ribbon because it haunted my childhood and teenage years and I feel like at 23 I finally forgot about it until now!

I work in urgent care and honestly your blood pressure is probably just high while you’re in the doctors office due to anxiety (not trying to dx I could be totally wrong), you should try measuring it at home for like two weeks while you’re relaxed!!!

Are you sure it wasn't white coat syndrome connor? They usually put a 24 hour blood pressure monitor on you to see whether it's just the doctor making you anxious. I had a similar reading but it was just because the doctor makes me sooo anxious

It seems as if Connor and I had similar childhood. Trends he talks about as a kid we're exactly like mine.
Connor, I quit drinking and my blood pressure went to a normal level again
the subtle exxon mobile sponsorship might be the most controversial yet
I started blood pressure meds at age 22…. Then I was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. It can happen without family history of it due to a random mutation. My kidney function was normal through my 20s so labs didn’t raise any flags. Needed to do an ultrasound on my kidneys to be diagnosed. Not saying this is happening to Connor or implying anything at all. Just sharing my story. Peace and love ❤️
I’m sure someone has commented this already, but it sounds like connor is going thru some white coat syndrome. i just recently went thru the same exact thing where my BP was 142/116 and my doctor was like yeah that’s really uncommon for someone my age (mid twenties). Try taking your BP at home and see if there’s a difference.

um, con was relatable and I had the same bizarre phenomenon. where did this autoimmune disease come from? where did this inflammatory disease come from? pots? hashimotos? dizzy spells? why is no dr validating my NEEDS @ 26yo? why am i stress dreamin? and then i stopped drinking
Brooke if you have high cholesterol the best thing you can do is to follow a vegan diet (not vegetarian veeeggaannn) since you can only consume excess cholesterol from eating things that also have/had living organs aka animal products and byproducts 🌱💚🤍
