Seems to sound nice and tight (I supposed that is the tone you are searching for) in my opinion, this changes a little the overall SLO-100 original sound, but the fact it´s you achieved a noise reduction; and a tone that you like. Congrats for your mods!

@@carrisar yeah the SLO sound is still there (i kept the 39K cold clipper which is the heart of it) but i modded it to get a more heavy metal version of it which lets me have the gain , tightness, attack and definition I want (stock to me is too flubby and fuzzy in the low end) without any pedal and at every volume…also i increased the volume on the clean channel (at 3 it has the same volume of before at 5)…😜

@@carrisar i worked 5 months after work on these mods…they were not improvised…I made a lot of experiments with components types and values…of course they are taylored to my taste…I wanted a Wicked Sensation type tone but more aggressive and defined…also I wanted less hiss cause even with DC heaters this amp stock has lots of hiss on overdrive…quite as much as my EVH 5150 III 100w which has triple the gain…Mike Soldano said that now with DC heaters the amp is quiet…thank God…I wonder what the noise was before 😱😱😱😱😱
Opening the amp I realized why…all the resistors are carbon composite ones…which are really prone to noise…

@@marcopanza1011 on my Slo clones, several years ago, I've found that Dc regulated heaters on V1 and V2, and then mixed with elevated reference DC heaters, for the rest of tubes, works really well on noise reduction. I suposs you are familiar with Slocloneforums. A lot of nice info there.

@@carrisar yes, I visited it sometimes…my version of SLO is the new one of course and believe me, it has lots of hiss on overdrive with the stock circuit…after these mods I have done the hiss is 1/3….l have to admit that because of this and the flubbiness I was on the point if selling it cause I was not totally satisfied…I loved the tone but hated the flubbiness and hiss level…now it has become one if my favourite high gain amps and I have much good stuff…
My 5150 III stock (yeah I modded it too) was this noisy but man it has triple the gain…now after I modded it it has half the noise 😜
