Even Krusty didn't care. He just took notes in Flanders words to possibly roast him later on.
The deleted scene with Milhouse is the best part of this bit.

Milhouse: "B-but you have glasses too..."
Guessing you came from Botchamania too there, Godot?

A true legend
Than again, as someone with a short temper and tries to have a calm and friendly demener, sometimes letting things building up leads to worse things than just talking about your issues with people (like snapping and becoming an angry fuming gorilla that wrecks stuff and has even man handled their own uncle. The door to the room I live in right now is still busted from when I snapped at my uncle for being such an asshole and now I have the same room he has... and to which I busted the door to)
No kidding I get there at least once a week
A person can only take so much without exploding even church going people have that demon sitting on their shoulder whispering in their ear and even mild tempered people can only hold their anger for too long with out shouting or taking their anger out on the wrong person. even Flanders mild tempered natured erupted for all the years of holding it in and not look bad and poor man has been through so much.
I totally love how calm he is while he drives to the mental hospital, it's exactly the peace you feel when you let all your anger out

I can't blame Ned for snapping like he does. He loses his home to a Hurricane, he's constantly being taken advantage by his neighbor,(Homer borrowing his tools, money not paying him back or returning his equipment, babysitting Bart when he was younger and not thanking him for doing so) no one gives him the respect that he deserves and probably the worst thing is that Maude dies later on.
Theshark15z we all have our breaking points
Also , her death was a casualty ... that Homer caused .
None of the people who helped build the house are skilled in construction or qualified. They built in a few days. They weren't even sorry for getting neds hopes up. They all totally deserved it.
And then he loses Edna Flanders rest in peace to her
@@wesmix840 Not so much his fault or anyones. Its only because the voice actress for Edna passed away on 11/25/2013 due to pneumonia. They canonically killed her off as nobody could replicate Edna. Or even replace her.
Sucks, and Ned doesn't deserve it. A reoccuring dark joke is the death of Maude and his death-riddled love life comes up.
I can feel Ned. All these years being calm, around a lot of jerks.
Is hard not to explode after all of that.

@@norman6492 But that was really his own fault for not having insurance.

Kind of weird how Flanders' nervous breakdown coincides with some of the most accurate, perceptive and honest things he's ever said.
I love how Harry Shearer was yelling so loud that you could hear his voice reverberating in the recording booth.
Might be that he's normally quiet so his mic's more sensitive.
Time code?
@@ishmael802 you can hear it clearly at 0:20
I caught that too
I think that bit where he starts screaming is a different take that was edited from where he was speaking previously. It's a unnaturally fast change of register, and difficult dialogue. The reverb is probably intentional to differentiate between him talking to himself and to everyone else.

+mcalpha3 hahahahaha
True!
What does the mean exactly?
tripp cory She's little miss "know it all" basically.
YES! That was incredibly satisfying.
And this is why " being the bigger man" and "brushing it off" when you're disrespected doesn't always work. You think you are taking the high road, but in actuality, you're just building the anger from inside until the point that you snap. Luckily in Ned's case, he didn't pull out an assault rifle and start shooting.
Yes and no. I definitely think there is a right and wrong way to deal with frustration and this is definitly not the right way. That being said yes this is what happens when all those years of frustration explode.
Worst part is that if he had actually done that, the only thing that might get accomplished afterwards is bigger gun control...but that's probably it. No mention on why he did it in the first place, no mention on his mental health, and no mention on the society/the people around him that pushed him to that direction.
Sure, maybe the gun control might've been part of the issue, but they're missing the bigger picture.
If thats how you think, you'll only help yourself. Some people takes time to change, those that stay with them until the change happens are great people and I respect those people.
It works, it just takes a really long time to work.

Ned"hey buddy, got a quarter". Ned is on a roll
Alex Ortiz I don’t get it

Barry Breen thank you
Alex Ortiz do you perhaps mean, a quarter roll?
In the futuristic episodes he's always a bum.
I love the facial expressions of the crowd. At first, their angry at Flanders for shouting these horrible things to them. They put so much effort into building him a new home, and this is the thanks they get? But after a while, those angry expressions slowly become ones of concern. In all the time they've known him, they've never seen Flanders like this, and their concerned for his well being and health.
I suppose, but most of Springfield didn't actually like Ned because Ned was judging all of them all the time with Lovejoy
And a subtle moment was Wiggum laughing at Lisa and Ned went off on him as a result. Ned still is compassionate enough to care. Anyhow, this goes to show bottling up anger is unhealthy.
@@localjoke_ Lovejoy yeah, but Ned just brought out all of their ugly insecurities, I don't recall him ever really treating people badly. That being said I'm not an avid watcher so maybe I've missed plenty along the way.

"And as for you, I don't know you but I'm sure you're a jerk!"
Poor Lenny hahaha
"Hey i only been here a few minutes whats going on?"
"Homer you are the worst human being i have ever met" That was probably the worst insult if you think about it. Homer strangles his son, steals Neds stuff, done too many illegal things, he's one of the most laziest in springfield, has many times done terrible things without caring about the consequences, It shows that even Ned can't stand homer no matter how nice Ned acts
Hence the joke of Homer thinking he got off light.
unfortunately, Homer's been like this ever since season 6
Ned is gonna flip when he meets mr burns or sideshow bob.
"It's an honor to be considered human again"
Yes sometimes i really hate homer just think of it with the Football game and flanders is the trainer
Think about it, Ned didn't even make a personal insult against Homer, he just said he was the worst person he ever met. Homer actually did get off pretty easy.
The joke there is that he really didn't: Flanders was simply being brutally honest. His condemnation of Homer was by far the worst of them all. A deadpan delivery masking the intensity of utter contempt that Flanders feels - and Homer is just too stupid to even realise that. The insult goes straight over his very limited intellect.
The thing is that is the *worst* insult you can actually give someone! Nothing but disdain or even hatred for you.
@@vylbird8014 Yeah, because on the surface Flanders didn’t yell at Homer, unlike everyone else, that’s why Homer thought he “got off pretty easy”, but it’s still the worst insult regardless of the tone of your voice.
"The last case you got to the bottom of WAS A CASE OF MALLOMARS!!!" That gets me every time hahaha!!!
"Homer...you are the worst human being I have ever met..." "Hey, I got off pretty easy"

Froggeh Who Can't Touch Salt lol ouch, homer got punkd
Oh yea, if somebody did that to my sister's kids, they'd be banned from any future gatherings for life. Heck, I once lost my cool and yelled at my niece and got banned from visiting for a solid 3 months or so.
Not like Flanders was wrong though
My favourite thing is the fact that Ned gives a polite turn signal right before crashing through the gates of the mental hospital.
I like how he blows up on everyone and drives immediately to the mental hospital. You might see that as a gag, like "haha, the nice guy broke character so he must be crazy."
It shows that he's so angry he knows he'll do something worse, and he is so good-hearted that he pre-emptively gets help before allowing that to happen.
I know when I've done something rash and stupid out of anger, there have been times where that little voice in the back of my head says "uh-oh, better dial it back" but the one behind the wheel says "nah, fuck that. They've got it coming." Even Ned's anger is good-natured.
That is some outstanding and deep writing!

Ah, Yes the Clown the Only One of you Buffons That Doens't Make me Laugh
This goes to show how bad it is to suppress negativity for such a sustained period of time. Such suppression of emotion is like a ticking time bomb, the more it gets suppressed over time, the bigger the eventual explosion of emotion once it bursts its banks. Up to this point, Ned Flanders was treated like a sucker, never showing anger towards anybody, but with this, he has a massive meltdown and not only humiliates himself but shocks everyone he knows. It's an insightful episode on mental health I feel
The funny thing is he's right about Lenny because he's the only one who didn't show up to help rebuild the house.

If Bart ends up homeless, it means all of Skinner's effort to discipline him was in vain. He may have taken it personally.
Skinner is actually pro-Bart
This could also be called 'Ned roasts the citizens of Springfield'.
Ned went Old Testement for about 2 minutes there
1:22 Grandpa Simpson looks so horrified at whats happening to Lenny
Grandpa Simpson was scared in general, he clearly almost died watching this go down.
This is something Seth McFarlane just doesn't get - a character has to stay consistent, he can't break out of character EXCEPT under extreme circumstances when he's really pushed to the limits like this, otherwise it isn't funny.
One of the many things MacFarlane and his team of writers don't get.
No, the thing McFarlane doesn't get is how anything works.
The thing is shock-humor only works if used sparingly. If you use it consistently, it gets old really fast.
what are you talking about he did make characters like that Chris and Cleveland
E.N.C 2000 None of his characters have any consistency. He'll have them be total dimwits one moment then have them saying something witty and insightful the next, those two included.
As funny as this scene is, can we appreciate Bart defending his mother and Lisa defending Bart as well.
They may be dysfunctional at times, but you can tell that the Simpson Family really care about each other.
Though it is pretty funny that Homer failed to see Flanders insulting his family.
As long as he did not get insulted, Homer did not care.
@@deezy81 That, or he knew that if he butted in, Ned would've probably done way more than call him the worst. I mean, he was causing misfortune to the guy for so long.
I think that was just a narrative choice, otherwise there would have been no transition and it would have just been Ned going around like a meany, insulting everyone without an apparent reason. Them saying something prompted him to shout at them, mostly because they said something
@@cheydinal5401 yeah people are being way too hard on Homer when he's literally a cartoon character and everyman
Yep
Moe: What was the third thing you said? Moe is a friggin peanut. Lol.
Well at least he's honest.
One of the most legendary moments of all time
"Homer... You are the worst human being I have ever met."
"Gee, I got it off pretty easy."
Well, considering the stuff Homer has pulled on Ned over the years...
'GoooOOOOOOOOD intentions!'
I didn't really get that...
It's kinda self righteous they had to be the ones to build the house, not just contract a business or company to do it with money they all pool together.
"My family and I can't live in good intentions"
“HEY! Back off, man!”
Finn Cullin
OH SORRY DUUUUUUDE! WOULDNT WANT YOU TO HAVE A COW MAAAAN! WELL HERES A PHRASE YOU BETTER LEARN FOR YOUR ADULT YEARS ; “HEY BUDDY, *GOT A QUARTER?!!?!* “
God listening to Ned flander lose his fucking mind is the best- most cathartic thing i have EVER listened to
I wish Ned punched Homer after he dissed him. That might've gotten Homer to feel hurt in some way.
This episode is a classic! I love when Ned's angry and just starts saying a string on nonsense. And my favorite part is when Ned says to homer in a shaky low voice "Homer, You are the worst human being i have ever met". And Homer thinks that he got off easy xD!
+Jim Dayton It wasn't nonsense.
TheKid266 Now calm down neddily-diddly-diddly-diddly-doodly.
+Jim Dayton I don't know you but I'm sure you're a jerk!
Gasoline85 lol.
'Hey, I only been here a few minutes, what's going on?!'
