My mother had breathing problems in her nose they put a hole in her septum on purpose. She was quite happy with her breathing after and was very happy that it cause zero external visual change.
I had a rhinoplasty 3 years ago, went to a surgeon with years of experience and good recommendations in the interwebs. Went there just for cosmetic reasons. Breathing was fine. Welp, now I still hate my nose and my breathing is worse 👌 ond year later after surgery, i went to the last check up appointment ,I told the surgeon that I dont like how the tip looks and he was like: "well we would have to do everything again and that I wouldn't recommend that." At that was it. Lol. Years later I now went to another surgeon, bc my breathing is just a mess and I still can't get used to this nose. Well... either the other surgeon ignored it or he fluffed up. My septum is deviant, old surgeon said nothing about it. Also my tip isn't fixed correctly, it literally gets stuck sometimes when I laugh and it pops and cracks. (Nice party trick 👌) also the top of my nose looks a bit like a beak from scar tissue, not much - and not soo noticeable, but still its there. Welp. Didn't went good, cost me way to much money... and no he wasn't a cheap surgeon... Hope the other surgeon will be able to fix it ... but he already told me that a already pre-worked nose is always a challenge. Because you don't know exactly what waits for you as a surgeon. It will be interesting 😶
@@uwish5356 @u wish oh yes! I didn't thought anyone would care xD Had my surgery 3 weeks ago! So the surgeon that had to fix it, was kinda negatively surprised in what he found inside my nose. Well the surgeon before absolutely ignored the deviation, he didn't to anything to it. The surgeon that worked on it now thought that the bumps that you could feel and see where from breaking the nose to correct the deviation and it could be scarring. But since he didnt correct the deviation at all, the old surgeon just failed to make it smooth at all. The front tip (that cracked and got stuck when I laughed) was twisted in itself, lol. Don't even want to know what happend there lol... the beak look wasnt scar issue, he also just failed to make it look niceley. They had to do some work to make all that bumps and lumps even. And since everything went as wrong as it went, with my tip not beeing fixated and all, my breathing said goodbye (when I layed down on the side my tip lost to gravity and my nose completly closed up and I had to lift my cheek so I could breath lol) Soooo, the surgeon now! While in surgery, he called his professor to look at this mess lol professor was like: the fuck. And came to help, that must have brought chaos to the schedule, because he wasn't planned to be part on my surgery. Sorry for that lol they expected things, but not such a big mess. But now, even with all the swelling that went on I already could and still can breath way better than before! And it looks so nice, even with swellings! They did such a great work and I am really glad they could fix that messy inside and outside job! Of course it's still healing and it will take a while, (noses be bitchy xD) but even if it Would stay like this as it is now, I would gladly accept it! Because in every aspect is so much better! Breathing and lookwise 👌👌 Im really happy with the outcome The whole team was nice, too! From the anaesthesia nurse (she was the cutest lol) and doctor and scrubnurse. Also this time, I saw the surgeon before the surgery and he asked me if everything was fine and if there was something Istill wanted to ask or if there was something I changed my mind on! I really liked that (Didnt see the surgeon at all last time)Everyone was just lovley and I felt in really good hands! ♡ complete different experience :) And! I had no pain once in my recovery time :3! (Just the swelling aha ha omg, I looked so funny xD)
Wow! She was gutsy to correct her nose. I never fixed mine. Good for her that she is happy and is breathing better. I have broken my nose several times. The major one was during a car accident when my face hit the windshield and cracked the windshield. I was 18 years old.I just dealt with the bloody nose and never went to the hospital or the doctors to look at it. My nose has a slight bump and is a little crooked. I’m just going to leave it. I would probably get a lot of grief over it if I got it fixed now. I’m 56 now and more confident with how I look today.
I broke my nose, as in the actual nasal bone. The onlookers were horrified more than I was (obviously, since they’re the ones who have to watch my face and broken nose). I’ve already had a broken cartilage of my nose 4 times prior, but never the actual nasal bone which actually is closer to the forehead part of the nose and not the tip. And all we ended up doing to “fix” it was that they gave me some fun opioid analgesics, and the biggest (and strongest) doctor there in ER just told me to hold on to my dear life for 10 seconds max, and “pushed” it back into place. Clearly, there’s still an obvious deviation, but I can breathe now at least. I don’t mind getting a rhinoplasty, but I’m not going to give fake reasons to get it or deny it after I’ve gotten it. Truth is truth. Just say the truth, guys. People only talk (more) when they are annoyed of the lies.
love when celebrities say they have breathing problems but its actually a cosmetic thing that they've been sucked into looking aesthetically pleasing and perfect. smh disgusts me she's so young and she JUST started her fame yet she's already being influenced by the toxic pressure of Hollywood. just sad.
I was so scared about the pain with rhinoplasty but wanted it done more than I was scared... After the surgery and after I had slept off the anesthesia at home, I woke up afraid because I hadn't taken my pain meds. My surgeon said the pain would be minimal, but to go ahead and take the big pain meds prophylactically for at least the first 24-36 hours, and I'd slept through the time I was supposed to take them. As my panic subsided I realized that I wasn't even hurting. The pain was SO minimal that I got scared the surgery was going to be unnoticeable... It wasn't. The outcome was amazing and the recovery nearly painless. It was more of a nuisance than anything else. My surgeon also used the little plastic tube things so that I could breathe during healing, which was so awesome of him.
2 things. is there any chance maybe Dixie was exaggerating her nose trouble? and when i was 12. i went to an ENT and the Doctor asked me if i was an addict because i had nosebleeds so very bad. Nothing ever became of it, I never saw him again because i was so offended, I was a kid
Thank you for your input on this. I went to an ear nose and throat doctor and he was super mean to me when I asked about the visual aspect of my deviated septum. It turns out I have sinus inflammation. But you can clearly see my nose leans right.
I had nose surgery and woke up and pulled out the splints they had stuck up my nose. The doctor was kind of pissed and wasn't sure if it was going to heal back up right, but I guess it did for the most part. When I woke up I wasn't even thinking straight and just reacted to not feeling like I could breath, so yanked it out. Also, my daughter hit my nose a few times after when she was a baby, and heard it crack a couple times. I still can't breath out of the right side sometimes, but I'm used to it. My cousin said his is the same too and can't breath out of it sometimes.
Poor thing, she seems to have multiple compounded problems. Broken nose / deviated septum = problem number one AND dry damaged mucosal lining causing a compound breathing problem on Both sides in addition to her problem on the left.
Omg I never knew she had surgery!! She came to my job, I use to work in fast food in 2020 and I noticed how cute her nose was and thought to myself she’s so pretty! I’m so naive but amazing results nonetheless.
Dr. Linkov could you make a video talking about nose piercings? I just feel like it could be interesting for you to react too. Some people stretch their septum piercings pretty big. Curious to hear abt that from a medical perspective.
deviated septum ruined my childhood. i had problems with breathing since i was born, and when i was 17 it got so bad i had headache every day for one entire year (i didn't know the septum was the cause). i then had septoplasty which got rid of every problem i had prior to it. the best decision i have ever made
I had an open rhinoplasty, no nose break, tip narrowing. Tiny tampons up my nose, pulled out after SEVEN days. Worst pain ever. Took painkillers the whole time. Will never have facial surgery again.
I didn't know that my nose was blocked for almost 20 years of my life. it only came out when I wanted to do breathing exercises where you have to inhale only through the nose. I couldn't do it and became super lightheaded/almost passed out. granted, this happened only once, but it happened.
I wouldn’t judge Dixie too hard for maybe embellishing her motivations for getting this nose job. There is (unfortunately) a massive stigma around having cosmetic procedures done even today, and when your whole livelihood is based on your reputation you don’t take risks with that kind of stuff.
i think it's kinda good that theres a big stigma around cosmetic procedures. I think there's a lot more people who don't need a procedure who would get one if there wasn't the stigma, than there are people who do need a procedure, who are afraid to get one because of the stigma. I think it's a useful deterrent. Otherwise you end up with places like south korea, where people are literally shamed for not having surgery, and where cosmetic procedures become a status symbol almost. But I get your point, i think there's probably a balance point.
@@nolongerjuicyboiz4413 I agree. If plastic surgery wasn't SOMEWHAT stigmatized, everyone would be getting it up down left and right. I'm 16 and my classmates are already asking their moms and dads for rhinoplasty...☹️
I'm getting some horrible flashbacks from my septum surgery. I had to go through 2 surgeries because the first one utterly failed and my septum got even more deviated so I couldn't breathe through the right side of my nose at all. The second time he just fixed the first surgery. So now It still feels deviated but he claimed it was perfectly straight. I initially underwent the surgery for excessive nosebleeds and throat infections. The nosebleeds are better now but I still get throat infections fairly often. Went back to ask what is going on and now he claims it's allergy?! He couldn't have tested that before the surgery?! Also idk if it really is allergy even but I will never go back to that guy. I still bear a lot of resentment towards him and I can't understand how he is supposed to be a trusted surgeon. I feel like I might need to go to therapy or something because I've been bottling this up for so long.
Same kinda After surgery sometime I feel one side of nose side which was better can't breath with that Also the wrong or broken side is same like before surgery Most of the surgeon give a Shi* about patient The pain of surgery still shivers me down
i think she had an s shaped deviation which means it's actually deviated on both sides 9since the doc said her septum is shaped "like a zigzag"). obviously it's impossible for us to know 100% unless we saw an xray or the inside of her nose but that could explain why there's inconsistencies
The amount of disdain people have for women changing their bodies because they're unhappy with it is a huge part of the reason so many people lie about it or the motivations for doing so. It's another version of "be beautiful and silent". It is expected to be perfectly happy with who you are and how you look, unless people don't agree with that, then you must magically change those things without actually changing them.
Great video. I have to agree with you guys, Doc has that “soothing” voice right. Some people just seem to have that particular quality about thier voice. Yeah, I looked it up a while ago cause I suddenly noticed it and got worried lol, and indeed everyone breathes alternating through their left and right nostrils 👃

Should she have gotten percocet or oxycotin for post surgery pain. I had surgery on my ears because they stuck out at 16. I had terrible pain upon waking. He gave me a shot of morphine when he saw my reaction. He gave me a prescription of oxycotin for that day and percocet for the following two days after. I assume the surgery on my ears was more painful than most. It was the worst pain I've endured.

This video was really informative! I have a step-off on my nose (a bump) and the congestion in my nose changes from the left to right side. I also have a small scar where the step-off happens, but I don't know where it came from! I've had a bump since I was at least in 5th or 6th grade.. assuming it came from an injury now and I have a deviated septum ):
Thanks for sharing this. Can you do a second Rhinoplasty on someone, or correct scar tissue on the middle of the nose? I read it’s not a good idea to inject filler in that location.
I have a cousin that made rhinoplasty and one side os her nose its tilted a litle down. The doctor said it was normal and it will fix itself in a year. What do you think?

I have known several people who have damage to their nose lining and septum (including a couple with a complete perforation through the septum) because of snorting cocaine - Can these problems be fixed?
I think so - my son had a friend who perforated his septum with drug use, and they fixed it for him. Then his parents sent him off to military school 😳
Hey doc great video! You seem very smart and intelligent about the nose and how functions! I know your not an allergist but how would you fix turbinate hythrophy?

I had rhinoplasty years ago & I love my nose. I hated my old one. Was very ugly & big with a huge bump & ugly tip. I used to cringe at my profile. My nose is just about perfect now. And I breathe so well! I used to get terrible pain up in the bridge near my sinuses. That’s long gone too. No one can tell I had a nose job. It’s so natural. Best thing I ever did!!!
I have a similar situation to your old nose may I ask where u got it done😭
happy for you!
congrats i go in for my first consult monday!!! i broke my nose when i was a kid and i have a huge rhino bulbus now lol i can say having an ugly nose growing up was hard. im very excied to change it.
Wow thank you for calling my big nose ugly!! Really needed this positive energy today!!!!
"it looks like she is still feeling the effects of the medication" LOL. Great video Dr. Gary. I'm loving these reaction videos - keep them coming please!
I did both septo and rhinoplasty and I'm proud to say that I changed my nose to feel pretty more than to breathe better🤣🤷♀️
Thank You Dr. Gary for taking time to explain all this to us.
I've found you through Lorry Hill and I'm really enjoying your content 😊
Thank you!
Me too! I love Lorry Hill!!!
Yesss lorry is such a queen and i love this channel too!
video editing is much better lately, I like it
Glad you approve ;)
I bet she felt scared going into this. Even though I don't like my nose I won't ever touch it. A nose brings so much to the face. If it were to be botched it would definitely be noticed. It's a nose it literally sticks out 🤣
Definitely feel the same!! Imagine waking up and not looking like yourself
You can get your nose done up to three times it’s best to be conservative bc you can take away but the more you add the more it can go wrong
i looked so much worse after a week, i was so bruised but i didn't care because it didn't hurt and i was so happy i actually cried when the tampons came out and i could breathe for the first time AND my bump was gone
@Neuron Cell lol yeah, long cotton things stuffed into the sinus cavity, medically they're tampons, just for a different location lol.
@Neuron Cell it kind of is ^^
You’re so cute!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ needless to say, I’m subscribing! 💛🦋 thank you so much for all of the informational content you’ve given us. Guys, this is the exact example of a well trained, morally ethical, precise doctor. I’m from KY, but plan to schedule an appointment to come in for cheek filler! ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words!
It's all acting so she can get a nose job and so people won't criticise her lol.
Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Nah, girl has had her faced smashed. You cannot see it from the profile, but it is very evident if you look at her from the front.
Good luck 👍🏼
any updates?
@@uwish5356 @u wish oh yes! I didn't thought anyone would care xD
Had my surgery 3 weeks ago!
And since everything went as wrong as it went, with my tip not beeing fixated and all, my breathing said goodbye (when I layed down on the side my tip lost to gravity and my nose completly closed up and I had to lift my cheek so I could breath lol)
Soooo, the surgeon now!
Breathing and lookwise 👌👌 Im really happy with the outcome
The whole team was nice, too! ♡ complete different experience :)
And! I had no pain once in my recovery time :3! (Just the swelling aha ha omg, I looked so funny xD)
Sheesh, that was long and probably written very chaotic, sorry xD
@@e.k.6488 That's great news! And it wasn't written badly!
What’s wrong with society. These girls are younger than me and they’re already putting themselves under the knife. So sad. Thank you for sharing.
she wants to have an excuse for this surgery that isn't "I think I'll look prettier" so badly
Vitamin A is very important for healthy mucus membranes.
I feel so relax the way you speak doctor ^_^ it's like listening to rain sound before going to sleep 🤣
love when celebrities say they have breathing problems but its actually a cosmetic thing that they've been sucked into looking aesthetically pleasing and perfect. smh disgusts me she's so young and she JUST started her fame yet she's already being influenced by the toxic pressure of Hollywood.
My surgeon also used the little plastic tube things so that I could breathe during healing, which was so awesome of him.
often your throat hurts more than the surgery area itself in my experience
14 concussions??? girl ain't NO WAY
2 things. is there any chance maybe Dixie was exaggerating her nose trouble? and when i was 12. i went to an ENT and the Doctor asked me if i was an addict because i had nosebleeds so very bad.
Bro woke up and chose violence
Poor thing, she seems to have multiple compounded problems. Broken nose / deviated septum = problem number one AND dry damaged mucosal lining causing a compound breathing problem on Both sides in addition to her problem on the left.
Omg I never knew she had surgery!! She came to my job, I use to work in fast food in 2020 and I noticed how cute her nose was and thought to myself she’s so pretty! I’m so naive but amazing results nonetheless.
Dr. Gray, you are sooo good at explaining, and I want to thank you for all the information you gave us, thank you Dr.
Dr. Linkov could you make a video talking about nose piercings? I just feel like it could be interesting for you to react too. Some people stretch their septum piercings pretty big. Curious to hear abt that from a medical perspective.
Me too!
deviated septum ruined my childhood. i had problems with breathing since i was born, and when i was 17 it got so bad i had headache every day for one entire year (i didn't know the septum was the cause). i then had septoplasty which got rid of every problem i had prior to it. the best decision i have ever made
I was born physically perfect it’s just a shame no one else agrees with me
I had an open rhinoplasty, no nose break, tip narrowing. Tiny tampons up my nose, pulled out after SEVEN days. Worst pain ever. Took painkillers the whole time. Will never have facial surgery again.
love this video!! you are so educational and offering people valuable advice - great video!!!
Thank you 🙏
Passing out from not breathing through a nostril? My nostril was blocked for years and I never passed out and I would play football (soccer)
I didn't know that my nose was blocked for almost 20 years of my life. it only came out when I wanted to do breathing exercises where you have to inhale only through the nose. I couldn't do it and became super lightheaded/almost passed out. granted, this happened only once, but it happened.
She just wanted a nose job. No shame in that but she should own it!
I'm 16 and my classmates are already asking their moms and dads for rhinoplasty...☹️
this was so educational, thanks Dr. Gary

HOW DO YOU HAVE 14 CONCUSSIONS. I WOULD'VE BUBBLED WRAPPED THAT CHILD AFTER THE SECOND ONE... sorry caps but like WHAT??
I have the feeling they thought that a concussion is just “oopsie I hit my head real hard” and threw a somewhat high number.
i didn’t even know you could have that many and still be coherent
@@kaylabey for real!
I would be very scared if a plastic surgeon didn't ask me how my nose breathing is in the pre-op :p.
My nose was much smaller at 12 and then it grew too. It's called being a child and growing into an adult.
Same kinda
After surgery sometime I feel one side of nose side which was better can't breath with that
Also the wrong or broken side is same like before surgery
Most of the surgeon give a Shi* about patient
The pain of surgery still shivers me down
@@deadinside8719 Yes it's horrible! Sorry you had to go through that as well
i think that they made sure to mention the injuries & issues w her nose/breathing so she could blame getting a nose job on that vs cosmetic reasons
I`m glad she went to a good doc who didn`t allow her to change her nice nose completely :D
Hahaha I’m glad I’m looking in the comments and everyone is calling cap on her bs reasons for nose surgery 🤣
She defended herself so much during the video, it was comically obvious

so insightful, i love your cadence & im so addicted to your videos!
i think she had an s shaped deviation which means it's actually deviated on both sides 9since the doc said her septum is shaped "like a zigzag"). obviously it's impossible for us to know 100% unless we saw an xray or the inside of her nose but that could explain why there's inconsistencies
I just realized watching this I only breathe through one nostril while one is really not pulling air
That is how my nose is lol. I can only breathe through one nostril

Honesty is also good, but it's completely understandable why a celebrity would lie.
You are so sweet. I'd let you be my doc if I needed it.
Great video. I have to agree with you guys, Doc has that “soothing” voice right. Some people just seem to have that particular quality about thier voice. I guess it’s a thing, but not sure why? 🤔 It doesn’t seem really common but, some people just do. I bet his little girl loves when daddy reads her little story book at night. Lol. That said, I sure would go to him for his really nice lip lift. So natural! He’s so good!
I love listening to you. You are such a decent human.😘
Thank you for sharing this information with us! I've got a deviation in my nose and I've thought about surgery to get it fixed as I've had sleep apnea. I learn something new with each video
I thought everyone breaths out of one nostril at a time.I definitely do

I feel so much calmer watching this doctor’s video after getting a septoplasty. Unfortunately, not all doctors take the time for detailed explanations before and after surgery 🫤🤕
I'm about to get a rhinoplasty and your videos are so comforting for me! Thank you so much :)
I have a strange problem that led to a nose surgery. The symptoms were minimal BUT I can’t be around cooking. Smoke or fast food, I can’t smell food. I choke as if in a fire.
When the stents were removed and driving down a main road with restaurants and for the first time I smelled food!!! Next day- gone. I don’t remember when this started. Does anyone have any idea what this is😢???
I hate all the intense criticism and judgement in these comments. Over something everyone should have the right to do to feel better. And especially on a plastic surgery channel of all things.

Hard to say from this description alone. Happy to assist if your cousin wants a second opinion.

@@lazydaisy4453 Yeah it's been years so I wear my glasses as usual. To be perfectly honest during the whole first year I switched between my glasses and lenses all the time because the nose is still changing into its new shape, esp the first 6 months. I used very light titanium glasses so as not to put any weight on the bridge and took them off as soon as I could. Idk what others do tbh, maybe I'm just paranoid lol😅.
Dr. Linkov, I love YOUR nose! Being in the biz yourself, had you ever considered changing it?
Anemia can also cause noise bleeds
I have known several people who have damage to their nose lining and septum (including a couple with a complete perforation through the septum) because of snorting cocaine - Can these problems be fixed?
I think so - my son had a friend who perforated his septum with drug use, and they fixed it for him. Then his parents sent him off to military school 😳
Hey doc great video! You seem very smart and intelligent about the nose and how functions! I know your not an allergist but how would you fix turbinate hythrophy?
I feel like I always see open rhinoplasty noses with asymmetrical nostrils-as if the scar healed asymmetrically. How is this prevented? P.S. I’m only talking about open rhinoplasties where the nostrils were symmetrical before surgery.
