    Can you do a video/blog on company debt? Some businesses you buy have a lot more debt than Buffett would normally take on. Would be great hear your view on the subject.

    Hi, know I'm late to the party here (ha ha) but a small comment if you don't mind. Great presentation and info overall, Mohnish; however, I did take real exception with your umbrage over your daughter's "slave labor" wages for her internship. Believe it or not, in times past, people like me and others I knew actually worked their way through university (because their parents didn't or couldn't pay for it) by working 20 hours a week doing whatever work was available (cleaning apartments, secretarial, etc), scrimping on EVERYTHING, and getting a tuition scholarship in order to graduate WITHOUT student debt. And, yes, I graduated into a bad several years long depression as well. Shocking, I know! :) But you know what, an irreplaceable life lesson on money, budgeting, self sufficiency, job choices, etc that bears fruit throughout a career and a lifetime. Why has it become the expectation that internships or starting salaries or what have you should be at some high number so that parents won't feel bad about their adult children suffering an eensy teensy bit (after they've paid their way through school as well!)? Honestly, this entitlement is one of my pet peeves and it's not doing the world any favours! Thanks for listening :)

    Value investing is only one else way of investing.. My recommendation the best style which works for any one is price based investing which tracks and encapsulate everything and only that that is real.

    • @rishithrao7530
      @rishithrao7530 6 років тому

      Priced based investing has worked wonders for me.. I have had more than 20 stocks that turned into 7 to 10 baggers in the last 2 years..

      @@knsivam pretty simple..... You need to track the stock prices.... Buy stocks which are making new highs on a correction and sell stock which are making new lows on a move upwards in price... For more info call me 9448001893 as I can't write in detail and explain

    Just wanted to clarify a minor point. Mohnish confuses Don Danly with John Houbolt when he talks about Don's background in his Wilson story. Don Danly worked for Monsanto while Mr. Houbolt was the NASA employee who helped put a man on the moon.

    I like the point he makes om that its an advantage to be a part time investor rather than full time. The reason is behavioral. Studies show that in general more activity leads to less returns. I think its powerful to not be too involved into the market and only act when a really great bargains become available. My moma called me and warned me about investing in stocks in 2009. Then I knew it was a good time to increase My effort and look for stocks to buy. Before that I had ignored the markets. Conclusion: your mama might be the best contrarian indicator.

      I think the overall net effect of being a part time investor is a major disadvantage. You can't beat the market by being part-time (neither monitoring your current investments with as much scrutiny as you should as well as your watchlists)

    This rain industries is really a powerful company. I used word powerful because it really makes you feel awesome when you are owning it in your portfolio at very low levels. And yes, when you dive deep into its business, you really fall in love with it. Not because it has given good return but it makes me think that I'd rather prefer to get less profit than to sell it at this level. I went through the transcript of a con call of last three quarters several times and it gives me a feeling that management isn't aggressive but active.

      Pjtopj J - Mohnish has multiple funds - dhando and pabrai holdings. (Sear the EDGAR website) I would guess he is referring to his own "fund 3"

    This guy is a joke. Not one original idea. He steals other people’s trades and then charges his investors a fee for that privilege. When people disareee with him online, he blocks them. This his MO. All his channels sound like he’s a wise man or something.
