- Enid Blyton's Five On a Hike Together - as a multi-actor dramatic audiobook play. Book 10 of the original Famous Five series.
Why does an escaped convict send a message to Dick in the dead of night? And what can the strange message mean? The police refuse to help so the Famous Five must find out on their own...
It is abridged by John Lewis with a 60 minute running time, the story still works well with enough tension and drama. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for relaxing bedtime, or car journeys with kids. Recorded/released by Hodder Children's Audiobooks, performed by Nick McArdle, Christopher Strauli and Judy Bennett; with Henry Marsh as Julian, Jack Shute as Dick, Scarlett Strallen as George, and Ellie Bevan as Anne.
This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so some old-fashioned tape noises, but still listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia and relaxation or for excitement in new generation of imaginative listeners.
Thanks and greetings from Germany!
Thanks for the upload. Loved listening to the dramatised version.❤
This was my favourite adventure as a child. The abridged version is done well. The cassette noises are so nostalgic! Thank you for uploading.

This is great craic. I've heard the non-abridged version before and loved it, but never the dramatisation, and have always wondered what it would be like. It certainly did not disappoint. Thank you for sharing Rene .
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cheers Rene.
By the way. It's book 10. Demon's Rocks was number 19.

Lovely story
I love how the Four invade the shop with their dog, knock over some stacked cans, then without joking ask for 32 sandwiches! Why didn't the shopkeeper say 'There's the bread. There's the cheese. There's the marg. Now f*** of!'?
DON’T SWEAR
Horrible story
