- Enid Blyton's Five get into Trouble - as a multi-actor audiobook play. Book 8 of the original Famous Five series.
Curious about the big house on Owl's hill, the Famous Five decide to go into the grounds one night - only the find the big wrought-iron gates have closed behind them...
It is abridged by John Lewis and Phil Evans with a 65 minute running time, the story still works well with enough tension and drama. These shorter dramatizations are ideal for 'reading' in a single sitting and are great for bedtime or car journeys especially with younger kids. Recorded/released by Hodder Children's Audiobooks, performed by Nick McArdle, John Baddeley, Jonathan Booth and Sue Sheridan with Julian played by Henry Marsh; Dick, Jack Shute; George, Scarlett Strallen; and Anne, Ellie Bevan.
This tape was re-released in 1995 to tie in with its TV adaption in the HTV/CITV TV series.
This is shared from a recording of a cassette tape, so lots of old-fashioned tape noises and hiss, but still very listenable and an enjoyable telling for childhood nostalgia or for a new generation of listeners that can make pictures in the mind.
so glad to have found this audio book somewhere online! so nostalgic and comforting

I love this audio book
My favourite of the FF books.
Oh wow, thanks so much for uploading this! The intro music is now coming back to me after all these years. I used to listen to this and so many others to help me sleep at night as a child.
Glad you enjoy it! Amazing how sounds and music can take you back and how much memories are lurking.
I remember reading this book when I was about 10, [a VERY long time ago, as I will be 65 in July this year]. I also read Five go to Mystery Moor and Five go to Smuggler's Top. Uncertain if I read Five on a Treasure Island or whether confusing with The Island of Adventure. Any other elderly people listening to this for nostalgic reasons?
PS UPDATE. since writing the above I have listened to Five on a Treasure Island, and I do remember it from all those years ago.
In one way it is good memories but in another very sad, as when I read the books my life had just begun, but now it is almost over. Not such a nice thought.
I am ages with you was 66 in December 2023 and read these books at about the same age as you oh hopefully we have a few years left in us yet God Willing but I know what you mean love listening to these tapes so nostalgic Best Wishes from Scotland 🤗
Amazing, had this tape myself as a kid, a few years ago I ended up chucking a lot of my tapes out, about 3 boxes worth, wish I could’ve kept some of them back. still sounds good as it did back then. Keep up with the uploads, I always enjoy watching these channels for nostalgia.
That's a shame, but happy I could share these.
Me to

Enjoy!
YES JUST YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed agreed
I love you so very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very much appreciated
Richard does well hiding in the car boot and Julian ends up thinking highly of Richard
I always find it funny how they didn't use proper sound effects for Timmy's barks and whines. It's clearly an actor making dog noises!
They are fairly rubbish at it too. Part of the charm maybe?
@@reneartois616 Definitely!
Yes
I think this book is the best out of the lot of the 21 famous 5 books.
Me to
Didn't realize there were 21 books didn't think there were so many
There has even been new series written by other authors about the famous five in recent years.
@@BradleyMcknight Oh yes I wasn't keen on them to be honest
If it’s the same one, I found a series called Enid Blyton for grown-ups by an author called Bruno Vincent. It pictured the famous five in the 1970s, rather than the original 1940s. And it didn’t feel the same.
Rooky is a violent man
You described him exactly💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
Rookie getting bitten by Timmy served himright and clearly Rookie deserved to be locked up
I agree with you.👍😀
Hi bill I just need a new bed for you and I need help you can get me some sleep please please tell her to call you to help you out
Silly sis. sorry that’s my sister.😅
Wow❤❤❤❤
Love how they pretend that Timmy was eating the poisoned meat, especially the sneaking part.
Put Rene if you love her stories!
❤
Fhhtuhgngghv😅
Why is ann up the tree she didn't talk or speak her brother hasbeen dragged away by 2 roughtons
Julian ought join the Police force
I was not keen on the 90s
The villains in this story are not in the end smart and when Richard hides in the boot of Pertons car and goes to tell the police he does a brave thing and when the police arrest the villains it is awesome and Julian in the end thinks highly of Richard
