My s4 has the detent for the front magazine tube cap, they probably just missed it on yours. Also a note on parts capability, I put every part taran tactical makes on mine, replaced the buffer tube with a benelli adjustable tube/ stock, put an aftermarket trigger guard on it, and an aftermarket shell latch. In my experience it's 100% compatible with an actual m4.

You defiantly showed me I needed this gun. I found at a very good price. I added the two plus tube. I added a red dot the co witness with the front sight. Great videos.

@@AmericanArmsChannel They are quality, right? Like it won't explode after four rounds? I don't wanna buy him a shotgun that'll hurt him more than it'll hurt his target.
From experience with my example and the reports I have read online, I believe the AKSA S4 as a safe product. It is not the highest quality (you get what you pay for), but there is no danger in purchasing one of these. They operate as intended.
Aska Arms seems to be the best of the Turkenelli manufacturers. Several importers sell them, Black Aces, Panzer and (now) SDS are the ones I know about.
I have the Panzer imported M4. I've had nothing but great experiences with it. Has been totally reliable with good defense loads and cheap field loads. Put a Dave's Metal Works mag tube on it and fit was perfect. Benelli furniture also fit perfect, but the factory stock has a shorter LOP than the Benelli stock.
Haha, amen to that! This one seems to be a good one. I will comment that you should check the tightness of EVERY threaded part and screw/bolt on the gun though. Mine loosened up quite a bit. A drop of blue loctite on everything solved that issue.
I only wish I could get one. ??Canada Canuck?? only in Canada. Now enters the Sulun Arms SK-306 TAC 12. Seems even better than Benelli, but where to get one. nice work on DPS 601!
Yes, most Benelli M4/M1014 parts and accessories will install without issue or with minor fitting. See part 3 of the series for more: ua-cam.com/video/VNyqUh9Fics/v-deo.html
Want to love this gun but I cannot get it to cycle reliably. Wont cycle bird shot at all. Wanted for 3 gun but even after a few boxes of slugs and buckshot wont cycle. Can I get lighter recoil springs for it?
Run some heavy magnums and full power field loads through it. 9 pellet buck is only about a 1-1/8oz load, and even at 1300 FPS is only a 3-1/4 dram load, so it will take a high number of them to wear in the action so light lower velocity loads cycle reliably. You can replace the action spring with any Benelli OEM spring for the m4 or replacements like the Wolff Springs options (including their reduced power spring set). These shotguns are hit or miss on initial reliability out of the box with lighter loads, so don’t give up on it yet. After about 500 rounds through mine it started to cycle VERY light loads (15/16 oz 8 pellet buck at 1,100 FPS).
The 1301 is a better gun than the AKSA S4 or any other Turkish Copy of the Benelli M4. Really, if you are not looking to test the waters for less on an the M4 platform or you do not want a project gun, I would recommend simply buying the real M4 or the 1301.
Great series!! What does this weigh? Looking to add this to my collection as lighter weight M4 and to keep my M1014 stock while I Bubba-up the cheaper clone...
It would work well for a number of different hunting situations. Range depends on the load and choke used. Birdshot up to 60 yards Buckshot up to 60 yards Slugs upwards of 150 yards
@@ismailsuliman361 i’m sorry, I don’t understand your question. This video series is on the AKSA S4 as it is imported into the US. Features may differ in other markets, but those effective ranges can be achieved with the gun regardless.
In Turkey these clones are made very cheaply and they cost maybe 1/5 of the real thing. I'm looking to buy one in turkey as a Turkish guy but I'm not sure about it either but this is a really good review I heard only good things about this gun in turkey. Aksa is a well-known brands in here, they make thousands of guns every year and they have a lot of employees as well they're very big and I think they've been operating for over 30 years so they know their craft.... Cuz I'm still hesitant to buy this thing be honest I'm thinking maybe stoeger is better option because it's a benelli company and it's been made in Turkey but to a higher standards I don't know. Do you have any suggestions?! Thx
The Aksa S4 faired very well in my testing, and over time the examples imported to the US have generally improved. It is not without its fleas, but has good value compared to others. It is also just about 100% compatible with Benelli components. I have 5 parts to this series; part 5 is the final review. Stoeger is another good option with the M3000 series of shotguns. I would place the edge on Stoeger if choosing between the two, but really that comes down to taking a look at the models you are considering and what you want them for.
Ben de stoeger m3000 ini çok beğendim ama sırf kinetik sistem olduğu için bunu tercih edeceğim. Benelli firmasının neredeyse bütün tüfekleri kinetiktir.taktik tüfekler hariç
I do not have any firsthand knowledge and experience with those models, sorry. However, they are not anything like the AKAS S4 and other Benelli M4 clones functionally. The M4 and its Turkish made clones operate off of the ARGO gas system where two independent free floating gas pistons impinge upon the bolt carrier, with both pistons having their own gas port and excess gas bleed off valves. The shotguns are locked breach and utilize a rotating bolt. Think of it as taking a Benelli Civlani style inertia operated gun that has had the the inertia spring removed and gas ports and pistons added just forward of the chamber. That's what the M1014/M4 and its clones are. The shotguns you are referencing utilize a tilting block locking system and gas piston/op-rod/bolt carrier design most closely related to the Remington 1100 series and the Beretta 300/391 series of shotguns. They work, but they are overall a less expensive shotgun to manufacture and do have their downsides, the most prevalent being slightly more complicated mechanisms that require more frequent cleaning.
Dang it! Your making want one! I’ve allways wanted a M4, but even with carrying a shotgun at work, do I use a shotgun $2000 worth…. I normally use a 590A1, and have a 590A1 SBS. So this seems really close, and at a more justifiable price For my level of use.
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The AKSA S4 variant is most likely the best value out of all the M4/M1014 "clones" and facsimiles, but I would recommend you take a look at Part 5 of the series before you jump into buying one just so you have all the details and you are making a fully informed purchase. These shotguns are a lot of fun and work pretty well out of the box, but they are not to be considered anything greater than a good project gun and are not a substitute for the M4 or any quality combat shotgun. If you approach it from that mindset, you will not be disappointed and you will be willing to experiment and play with the shotgun to find exactly the configuration and accessories that will work best for you. Keep your powder dry. - Drake
just buy the benelli if you use it for work or life. write it off on your taxes. buy this import for range fun purposes. it may “be just as good”. when referring to tools and guns it’s wise to buy once and cry once.
Hey, thanks for the video! loved all 4 parts ! do you know if it is the same gun as Aselkon ASK S4? they look too similar, even their names sound kinda similar :d I have an optin to get the aselkon version, just need to know if these are the same gun with different rand names :D
I had to research the Aselkon product quickly as I had not heard of that yet, but I can tell you it is not the same product. AKSA Arms is a completely different firm than Aselkon. The finishes of the products are different, and the Aselkon looks to have a revised/proprietary modification to the gas system that does not make it a true Benelli M4/M1014 "clone", but I can not confirm this. The Aselkon actually looks to have a better finish, and more closely matches the M4 on the telescoping stock and rear sight assembly profile. The product is not yet available in the United States as far as I can tell, but presentation and marketing materials look nice. Sorry I can't help you with that model more than this.
The cylinder, IC and Mod chokes that come with the gun can handle hard shot types. They are not, however, what I would consider “good” or high quality chokes. The Full choke will swell into the choke recess if you shoot larger steel shot through it. I would recommend aftermarket chokes if feeding it a steady diet of hard shot types.
@@trevorstein4603 probably not. All of these “clones” have little things here and there that are not “correct” for a real M4. However, most will take Benelli OEM and aftermarket parts readily. The Tac 12 seems to be the top of the pile and the most correct, but others seem to be close or very close.
The “Canuck Operator” is a Turkish origin shotgun being brought into Canada by a specific importer; it is not a Canadian made firearm. I would not be able to get ahold of one in the states if I wanted to, but there really is no point to do so as we are receiving the same “clones” in the states as the Canadians are, just under different names. Currently we are seeing the following manufacturers clones/facsimiles of the Benelli M4: Merak (Chiappa/Charles Daly 601) AKSA Arms (SDS Imports S4) Toros Arms (Four Peaks and Toros Arms USA importing - CopollaT4) Sulun Arms (SDS Imports Tac-12) Radikal (SDS Imports SAX-2) Panzer Arms M4
The finishes, trigger guards, and manufacturer are the most apparent differences. Some early imports of the Tac 12 were reported to not be 100% Benelli M4 parts compatible (different length magazine tube with shorter false extension), but I cannot confirm those claims. Having not handled or used a Tac 12, I cannot comment on whether it is worth the premium over the S4, but as far as aesthetics and finish go, it is supposed to be the best one for one clone of the M4. They have even copied the proper profile and finish of the shell lifter on the Tac 12. The S4 is close, and is 100% Benelli parts compatible, but it is not absolutely accurate due to the trigger guard profile and the lifter profile and finish. So, if you are looking for the gun that is 100% a Benelli clone minus the stock, get the Tac 12. If you want to save a little and still have a functional M4 clone with nice internal parts and finishes, get the S4. Personally, I like the trigger guard profile of the S4 and the parts compatability with aftermarket M4 parts has been 99.9 to 100% so far (minor fitting on a few small items that may be required on a real M4 anyhow). That said, if I had the money and wanted the nicer finishes, I'd go with the Tac 12 as I have not discovered many if any serious reports of issues with the gun.
@@AmericanArmsChannel Thanks. I did not get the exact one you have, but I just picked one up from Dunham's Sports. It's not an SDS Imports it's a Torro Copolla T4-S, but as far as I can tell is very similar to a Benelli. Mine was $699, and I was grinning from ear to ear. Yes it does not have the finish like a Benelli, and there are a few minor cosmetic blemishes, but honestly I can't complain. I ran 10 Wolf Slugs no problem, and 25 rounds of 00 buck that was some EU brand. Had one malfunction with the buck, but I think it will work just fine. Here is an article about the particular one I got. www.thetruthaboutguns.com/gun-review-toros-copolla-t4-tactical-shotgun/ I also see they make a model that is very similar to the Benelli M3 Super 90.
I would be willing to, but I am not personally that greatly interested in the shotgun so I won’t be committing the funds to securing an example and supply of test ammo. Everything I have done to date (other than T&E of War Wolff 10ga loads) is out of pocket. I don’t make nearly anything off of my videos in ad revenue, so I can’t tackle bringing on auxiliary projects that I am not investing in for myself.
I should add that if a retailer, importer, manufacturer, et al. would like to submit example(s) of product(s) for T&E I am happy to put it through its paces and demo it on the channel. Thanks for watching and the comments.
Final review (part 5) coming soon. Parts 2, 3, 4A, and 4B are live on the channel. I am still fairly happy with it and customizing it and learning about how to tune it has been a fun project for me. I am still considering this a project gun though. Others mileage may vary. If you are looking at this to be a substitute for the real M4/M1014, it is not, but it is a pretty decent shotgun for the price-point giving it good value. So keep that in mind.
@@AmericanArmsChannel WOW!!! Thank You!!! FINALLY got an answer to that question ...next question...will it fit all Benelli clones??? I have a TacStar and a Black Aces Tactical and the major grip is not having an adjustable stock...had a stroke 20 years ago and can't use my left arm as well as I could prior...if it could fit either I'd keep one rather than sell both to acquire the SDS...
@@mohammedcohen i do not know about fit to those models, I’m sorry. The Urbino stock is offered in models that fit several different shotgun patterns, primarily the Rem 870, Rem 100/11-87, Rem Versamax, Benelli M2/M4/M3, Beretta 1301, etc. if the shotguns you have are patterned after any of the primary models Mesa Tactical makes the stock for, then they will fit or can be modified to fit.
It will loosen up as you remove and re-install the handle more. Twist the handle as you push it in. Doing so with the bolt compressed into the carrier also makes it easier.
Unboxed my S4 today. Could not get charging handle into position. Anyone else have this problem? Read the manual: “Move back mechanism ensuring cocking lever comes to middle of mechanism bearing ( bearing not indicated or labeled on manual schematic) then pull out and remove cocking lever. During this operation, hold the cocking bar ( again, not referenced in schematic) so the spring doesn’t push it forward. This is for removing the charging handle. I can’t get the charging handle into proper locked position in the bolt. I emailed SDS Imports tonight to see if they can help. I’ll call them on Friday after Thanksgiving.
You need to rotate the bolt handle as you insert it or remove it in order to depress the detent. The SDS manual is not very helpful and seems to have not been written by a native english speaker/writer. Letting the bolt be in battery with the barrel or slightly depressing the bolt head will help with this. The spring used is very stiff to start, but will wear in.
I'm not aware of an Stoeger M3000 "copy", but if you are considering an inertia gun defensive gun and want to stay in the same price range, I would recommend to simply go with the actual Stoeger. Their competition and defensive models with extended magazine tubes out of the box are great by many accounts. The AKSA S4 is best ify ou really just have to scratch the Benelli M4/M1014 itch at under $600.
In general, i hesitate to say yes or no. It has the potential to be reliable enough for defensive use, but each example has to be tested with the ammunition intended to be used for reliability and patterns. I trust my example enough after modification and tuning to be used as a defensive gun when utilizing ammunition I have tested in it and proven it will run reliably. This process should be taken with any firearm intended for serious use, but particularly with shotguns such as the S4 that are not consistent or high enough quality to hold a proven track record.
There are no good m4 clones. Just save your money and a headache and get the real thing. I love my m4 and I am glad I waited and saved my money to get the real one. Don't regret it for one second.
This shotgun turned out to be a fairly great gun for the $585 I paid, but I agree, there is no substitute for the genuine article. I purchased the M1014 later that same year and have been very happy with it.
@American Arms Channel I'm glad you got the real deal. The problem with these guns is that they might work well for you and Bubba, but then Mike gets one, and it can't run for his life. The QC on these guns are shoty and unreliable and I never recommend them because when there might be a day when somebody really needs it and when they go to use it it jams up or doesn't shoot. I have run my m4 with everything from bird to buck to slug, and it ate them all with no issues. The only type of ammo that doesn't cycle was the non-lethal rubber rounds, but that is known and expected, of course, so I wasn't surprised. Anyway, thanks for the video, sir, and keep up the good work!
Have owned/ used a few of the turkenellis. If you get a good one, not a single problem/ misfeed, however, these are not of Benelli quality or reliability. All Benelli M4 parts are not compatible. And finally, the price point difference depends on individual wants/ needs.
Compatibility with the M4 OEM and aftermarket parts is variable from manufacturer to manufacturer. I can confirm that the AKSA S4 fits Benelli OEM and aftermarket parts with minimal to no fitting. It is also the closest to the Benelli with a “field” pattern action spring tube assembly (also know as the recoil tube) instead of the long Turkish pattern collapsing stock tube. Thanks for the comment and insight. - Drake
It seems to be a good value. I’d check it over thoroughly before purchasing, but it’s a pretty solid deal. The trigger guard is enlarged, but it’s aluminum. Throw a Mesa Tactical stock on it and an optic and from 3 feet away it looks like a tricked out M4 unless you really know what to look for. 100% parts compatible. The s4 and Tac-12 seem to be some of the best performers and best values in the M4 clone game right now.
@@AmericanArmsChannel If this is just as good as a true M4 then Benelli M4 clones are gonna be pissed because they'll be justifying the expensive purchase they have. It's a superiority complex of "I spent the money to get the best" but now you can own something that truly is just as good for a fraction of the price
@@JustSumGuy01 potentially. Owning 2 Benelli shotguns (Vinci and SBE 3) and a number of other high-end firearms, it is not just as good regarding fit and finish. Durability and longevity is yet to be seen, but it is a good starting point with strong potential. Reliability of the S4 seems to be there with every load that counts. The M4 has been an $1,800 MSRP shotgun for more than a decade and been on the market since at least 2004. The shotgun should be selling for the same as the M2 tactical, around $1,250-1,350. I still want one and will someday own one (once you have one Benelli you usually want one or 5 more), but it’s hard to pass an opportunity at testing the waters on what you might want for 1/3 of the price. If I decide I like this design enough, i can always save up for the real deal... but that may not be necessary as you are saying.
I appreciate the detailed review but the music is extremely distracting and annoying. I recommend you eliminate it. Nobody will complain because there isn't any.
Yes, similar, but not the same. There is validity to criticizing the "clones" as they often do not hold up to the standards set by the genuine article. 1/3 the price at 1/2 the quality and performance many times. The Aksa S4 offers the best value of all the Turk M4 "clones", but it is still not the real deal and has its faults that bring it to the price-point it sits at. This 5 part series identifies and addresses just that point. Regardless of the ego of those who own one or the other, those are the facts. There is no point in arguing emotions on these things. Tools either work and last or they don't. No one would reasonably argue Harbor Freight offers the same quality tools as those found at TrueValue or Lowes. It just depends on what you need it to do and what you are able or willing to spend.
When you make your own videos you can do as you please. I wanted to add the background track in so I did. I’ve seen plenty of complements and complaints, I will continue to do as I wish. Thanks for watching. - Drake

Glad I found your channel! Do you have any knowledge of the Iver Johnson HP18 semi-auto? Looks very similar to this and gf1 or gf2 series of gun?
@@AmericanArmsChannel thank you very much for the quick response, 👍👍
@@AmericanArmsChannel So the operating system of this clone is exactly like the M4?
@@JustSumGuy01 to a T. Exactly like the Benelli M4. 100% parts interchangeable.
Dang it! Your making want one!
I’ve allways wanted a M4, but even with carrying a shotgun at work, do I use a shotgun $2000 worth…. I normally use a 590A1, and have a 590A1 SBS. So this seems really close, and at a more justifiable price
For my level of use.
Keep your powder dry.

just buy the benelli if you use it for work or life. write it off on your taxes. buy this import for range fun purposes. it may “be just as good”. when referring to tools and guns it’s wise to buy once and cry once.

@@AmericanArmsChannel Thank you so much for the reply! will keep that in mind, especially the modifications to the system.
Does anyone know if the chokes can take steel or hevi shot?
The cylinder, IC and Mod chokes that come with the gun can handle hard shot types. They are not, however, what I would consider “good” or high quality chokes. The Full choke will swell into the choke recess if you shoot larger steel shot through it. I would recommend aftermarket chokes if feeding it a steady diet of hard shot types.
Yeah I might take it turkey hunting. TSS #9 size should be fine on the full choke
Thank you for the info
I see that SDS has an S4, SAX2 and TAC12 model. Do you know the difference between them?
Manufacturer origin, finishes, and accuracy of being a 100% clone correct M4 copy. Those are the primary differences
I got a SAX2, am I boned on parts compatibility?
@@trevorstein4603 probably not. All of these “clones” have little things here and there that are not “correct” for a real M4. However, most will take Benelli OEM and aftermarket parts readily.
The Tac 12 seems to be the top of the pile and the most correct, but others seem to be close or very close.
you should try the Canuck Operator . It's a canadian m4 benelli clone . tell us about it .
Currently we are seeing the following manufacturers clones/facsimiles of the Benelli M4:
Merak (Chiappa/Charles Daly 601)
AKSA Arms (SDS Imports S4)
Toros Arms (Four Peaks and Toros Arms USA importing - CopollaT4)
Sulun Arms (SDS Imports Tac-12)
Radikal (SDS Imports SAX-2)
Panzer Arms M4
Very informative. Where did you find yours? Thanks.
A local gun store had one in stock. Right now Aim surplus has a good number of them for a good price.
Do you know the differences between the S4 and Tac 12? About the only thing I see that is different is the Tac 12 is more expensive.
Here is an article about the particular one I got. www.thetruthaboutguns.com/gun-review-toros-copolla-t4-tactical-shotgun/

would you be willing to do a review on the m3 clone from the same importer? it's called the duo-sys from sds
@@AmericanArmsChannel understandable
I should add that if a retailer, importer, manufacturer, et al. would like to submit example(s) of product(s) for T&E I am happy to put it through its paces and demo it on the channel.
Thanks for watching and the comments.
Why would Benelli allow this clone to be sold for 1/3 the price of the M-4?
Pattents expired. They can’t do anything legally.
Hi
Does it shoot slugshot well and 50g. I meant there’s no risk on barrel for heavy action ?
You will not damage the AKSA S4 with slugs or heavy magnum loads. I have several videos firing slugs.

@@ismailsuliman361 yes
Are you still happy I'm thinking about buying one please let me know
Final review (part 5) coming soon.
So keep that in mind.
...is there a replacement (shorter) stock available??? If so, who makes it???
Mesa Tactical Urbino stock
@@AmericanArmsChannel WOW!!! Thank You!!! FINALLY got an answer to that question ...next question...will it fit all Benelli clones??? Anyone have an issue putting the charging handle on the bolt?
You got some funky trigger pull. Have you heard of a thing called "Trigger resetting"?
Um, what?
Black Ace's imports these now sadly... It's still available but the customer service is going to be nowhere close to SDS Imports.
I just bought one a week ago. Brand new in the box for $100 usd.
Howwww
I can't make my mind up on this one or the Stoeger M3000 copy.
Dude... this is definitely the one
Be sure to watch all parts to be fully informed on its journey.
What’s the price everyone is picking theirs up for?
I actually picked one up for 389. 498.72 after tax and shipping
İs it reliable enough for home defence?
In general, i hesitate to say yes or no. It has the potential to be reliable enough for defensive use, but each example has to be tested with the ammunition intended to be used for reliability and patterns. I trust my example enough after modification and tuning to be used as a defensive gun when utilizing ammunition I have tested in it and proven it will run reliably. This process should be taken with any firearm intended for serious use, but particularly with shotguns such as the S4 that are not consistent or high enough quality to hold a proven track record.
I will just keep my M4 Benelli !
Nothing wrong with that. I bought an M1014 after using this gun extensively.
Broo I couldn’t believe how similar it is to my 930 spx
You're not Drake High key I saw him in concert it was fire.
they are cheap and popular here in Poland.

I saw this at a local store and no one's paying attention to it probably because it's a weird import and not an actual Benelli

The riches are raging that poors can now get a similar shotgun for a 1/3 the price.
