Lyrics
I did a terrible thing and somebody should do something about it.
I’m haunted by an eternal return, I never should have allowed it.
I broke my own heart. I’m trying to forgive myself.
but if it gets too close I gotta kill it. I’m gonna need your help.
my annihilation kicked off post boredom
I don’t want be a better liar. I don’t want to make you think
that what you get is what you see just because you want it. this muddy water ain’t deep.
I broke my own heart I’m trying to convince myself.
that I can suffer if I want, motherfucker. just put me back on your shelf
my annihilation started before I did
my annihilation ended before we did
I gave you nothing. you want more? you’ll get more nothing.
come on and give a big man a little thrill. come on and give a sick man his poison pill.
I don’t want no harm.
I’ve done it all wrong for so long it feels okay.
from up here the parties and funerals, they look the same.
when every morning after is the same day.
I want one more last chance. make me another mistake
all I can take is everything that I have given away.
I walked in with one foot out the door, you knew that I was not gonna stay
I broke my own heart I’m trying to forgive myself.
I don’t give a goddamn about the magic just put me under your spell.
my annihilation kicked off post boredom
I gave you nothing. you want more? you’ll get more.

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Who knew Andy Williams could be both a Butcher and a Riff Wizard.
True renaissance man.
Don't forget tambourine connoisseur and "shitting in that room back there" professional.
Hopefully he returns to The Blade soon
He’s the Johnny Sins of hardcore.
@@TheBrownMan2112 And also he plays guitar.

RIP. I will continue to love and cherish this music and the memories I’ve had with this band. Started at The Big Dirty and went back and forth until I memorized their whole discography.
They inspired my work and helped me learn more about how I feel. Here’s to all the other ETIDiots out there
I have a fat ass I on my wrist in honor of these dudes and I'll forever fucking rock it
Hot Damn was where it was at.
Honestly should just start a new project. ETID is dead without Keith.

Yeah bro
I hate my life now that I don't have the ability to see this band ever again. It all goes away so fast.
what happened? i heard this track more than 2 years ago and after was litening them sometimes
the band broke up. It was a huge thing and that was already almost 2 years ago@@legkayaschizophrenia
damn... thank you@@sacredxgeometry
"I was shitting in that room back there" hahaha I love how he doesn't say bathroom. Just a room.
That and the tambourine are amazing. I met him once and he talked to me about how chocolate milk gives him diarrhea. Probably true.
I got to your comment right when he said it loll
The best part of this is the fact that Andy just goes "I was shitting in that room back there" without anyone asking him what he was doing. He's just offering up that information free of charge.
Literal "shinfo".
fucking love it
Shinfo
There is something about this band ever since I got hot damn when I was a kid every single song and album they have done has hit, don’t know what it is but this band has magical powers over me, can’t wait to see them live again
Same here man. Stoked to see them with spiritbox next year if I can score tickets.
Good luck seeing anyone alive again again. Lol.,.for realz

Well said my guy.
right there with you brother. i was turned onto ETID by a friend when gutter phenomenon came out. never looked back. every...single...fucking song hits. their tour dvd's and interviews are always hilarious. got a chance to say hello to andy when they came through town, he was just at the back of the club chillin. hung out with us for a bit before the show started. this is 1 of 3 ritual bands me and my friends have. every time this band comes through town we all get together again to head bang and pit and have a great fucking time. cheers brother.
Cant help but notice Andy says he was "shitting in that room back there", and not specifically saying "bathroom"

ETID is one of those bands that will never disappoint.

No this is disappointing. Not the same ETID I saw when I was 17.

I cant put into words how hard that line hit me. I wish it hit me in a good way.
2024. I know that everyone went on to do different things after Etid broke up a couple years ago..9 albums is definitely a legacy to leave behind , but, this song is on their last album and is probably their best work, so I think there was more that could have came out of it. Unparalleled chemistry . Buckley has one of the best screams in the business.
I have LOVED this band for years. This is probably the leading cause of my neck pain.
....don't forget fist fights and speeding tickets too.
I swear...Andy’s facial hair gets more epic with every release
Im pretty sure he grew it out originally as part of his Pro wrestling gimmick. He has been working under the name The Butcher in AEW for the past year or so
The only band who does not ever disappoint, listening since 2004.
"I've done it all wrong for so long it feels ok" - I know you guys are done but FUCK does that line get me every time. Strength and Honor.

I was on my way to the Four Corners Power Plant at 0543 and this popped up. What a day I had, sucking in the coal dust with every belting scream I outputted on the Navajo Reservation that day. I did it all over again the following day. Crew 3 - Balance of Plant! Miss you guys!!!
Still praying these guys can work it out...
#1- for the sake of the the band members and their families
#2 - for my own greedy needs as a fan for 20+ years....maybe, if we are lucky, they will again release another album together.
The Mars Volta just released their first album in a decade. I don't think they had the same problems as ETID but there is always hope for a new album.
These guys are heros n have heart

Came here for Children of Bodem's Every Time I Die. Stuck around, found awesome. Thanks dudes.
Heart Shaped Box riffs with an overly-vibrato fx at first is on point.
And fun fact :
This song is produced by Will Putney. The hottest producer in heavy music nowadays!
He did the last album that sounded like wet ass but this is a lot better.
Hey I'm not the only one that clicked to what song was being played in the background. 30 secs in. I know this song 10 secs after that I was singing along lol.
It's in the notes too, but Daniel Davison did the editing for this video, and was ETID's drummer on Low Teens (ex Norma Jean, Underoath)
@@lobster272 Fuck man, Low Teens was pretty damn EPIC in my book, but damn I'm 47 yo and don't give a fuck.

Ladies and Gentlemen give it up for Buffalo's hometown heroes!
This song is an insane epitaph for them
Damn, rest in peace Every Time I Die. I just got into this band!
There is just an essence about this band that is pretty ethereal and transcendent. I remember my life changed when I first heard Hot Damn back in 2003. Little did I know as a fresh teenager that I would eventually start a band myself, get signed and have the privilege to tour with this band 10 years later back in 2013. The guys themselves were very good to us and that also solidified just how much of a treasure they really are as people and as artists. I still have a picture of Jordan feeding me poutine at 2 in the morning somewhere in Montreal lol 🇨🇦.
Feels like I've been waiting for this album since 1974, buzzing for it
In my lowest of lows I come back to these beautiful songs. There's a level of consistency not often met in the scene. These boys were the prime example of perfection incarnate.
Rest In Peace to a legendary band. Long live ETID 💔
I’ve been on this plant for 48 years, dedicated a large portion of my life dabbling in old school death metal and prog metal, amongst other heavier offerings… I know of Every Time I Die, but never consciously sought them out… heard this song and bam! So catchy, slamming riffs, killer vocals, all around solid band…. Gotta dig back into these guys. Great find for those old metal head. 🤘😎🤘

This guitar bending after "POST BODEROM!" Is just a piece of art
Wow. Unlike pretty much any band that has been around this long, these chaps get so much better with age. These guys deserve all the love and admiration. Thank you for never sucking ETID!
Absolutely gutted. Long live ETID.
Yeah man, I grew up listening to them. 😢
Not to mention the absolutely awful way this had all played out. Instead of hashing it out behind the scenes, it's been a twitter/ig back and forth. Really depressing. I don't think either side has handled it especially well. For a band that made me consistently happy for almost 20 years, this hurts.
@@theaspiration so true and so sad mate, this really fucking sucks

it seems like 90% of the bands i've been listening to for a very long time will almost inevitably put out a song i just wont be 100% on board with. which is fine. BUT...ETID has consistently put out amazing music. Not only that, but their live shows are ALWAYS fucking awesome. Their tour DVD's and interviews are fucking hilarious...in my top 3 of all time for SURE.

The list of bands that keep getting better 20+ years into their career is extremely short, and ETID is fortunately on said list!
Who else is on that list for you? One I can think of is Deftones. Ohms was their masterpiece!

Tied for my most anticipated album of the year along with Spiritbox!! So glad this album is finally coming out !!! Not to mention they're touring together with Underoath next year 😭 what a time to be alive

Discovered ETID a few months before Low Teens released and was hooked when I first listened to The Coin Has a Say. The rest of their discography I listened to shortly after, loving every single minute of it. Radical ended up becoming one of my favorite albums of 2021. Was supposed to see them live this year with Underoath, but now that won't happen and I'm crushed.
Will miss them. Long live Every Time I Die.
I'm all about that bass!!!!!
Man, this song/video. Perfect combo. Perfect album. Can't miss.
One of my favorite parts (there's many) is at 5:24 when Keith says "I want one more" and then it goes into one more verse.
Such a badass segue into one final verse.
Yes!
Keith looking more like a mix of Charles Manson & Jesus more an more everyday! Beyond the GOATS!
These guys are that rare artist who get better each album!!!
to this day, i have never witnessed more bodies being tossed around at a show than at an etid show. keep up the great work and keep knocking us around.

Almost a Queens of the Stone Age vibe. Love some new ETID
that ending picked up bridge part with the hooky vocal lines gives me them chills breh
Genuinely one of the best music videos I’ve seen in a minute.
Ageing like the finest of wines. Never disappointing.
Whoa. Unexpected, but beautiful tone shift at 5:00 that sounds so good! I feel like other bands would try to write a whole song in that tone, and ETID just throws it in as a change of pace. Amazing. 🤩
It weirdly reminds me of 2003 AFI. Some serious punk rock anthem vibes on this track.
God I miss this band. Many Eyes just doesn't scratch the itch.
This is the energy I've needed all year.
First ETID song I ever heard.
Heard it too late. But glad to have heard it.
engineer: "alright, what's the tempo?"
ETID: "All of them!"
More like......
engineed: Alright, what's the time signature.
ETID: All of them.........
tempos the same the whole song though
It’s clearly a 2/4;4/4;1/1;13/15.
Their tempos in songs are like dropping glass.
CLEARLY.
I was lucky enough to watch Stephanie Swift on stage with Keith and Jordan back in the day after a show.
Cool version of Heart Shaped Box 👍🏼
