Lyrics
coming live from planet shit
our only hope was in a murdered kid
the one god we had went off the grid
no future with a racist past
but we can’t acknowledge that
so we burn a cross and pray to a flag
we’ll wave it high
those pigs are fat with “pride”
the karma wheel is flat
even the ten commandments cracked
there’s no law when the outlaw wears a badge
so throw a brick. the tool becomes an instrument
whose fucking side are you on
whose fucking side are you on?
when all the lines that were drawn.
are washed away in the blood
whose fucking side are you on?
what kind of heaven awaits someone so cruel and afraid?
but they gated hell. you could be living well in your private hell.
so give em rope. lets give em rope. yea give them rope
or the guillotine. better yet, the guillotine. yea the guillotine.
honesty’s not a virtue when you’re a lying piece of shit.
you’re a soulless hypocrite
love is not a virtue when you’re a heartless piece of shit.
you’re a soulless hypocrite
monsters. we stand no chance without your heads.
you fucking monsters. we stand no chance without your heads.
I want heads.
what kind of death can you buy thats any different than mine?
so give em rope. lets give em rope. yea give em rope
or the guillotine. better yet, the guillotine. yea the guillotine.
fuck you. die. you’re already dead inside.
we’re all trapped on planet shit
our only hope was in a murdered kid
the one god we had went off the grid
your suicide is our only chance at life
whose fucking side are you on?
whose fucking side are you on?
when all the lines that were drawn.
are washed away in the blood
the blade that cuts through their spine has good people on both sides

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Listening to this at work about to go fight management.
😂
And management is about to fight the Executives.
Lolll
Dude. Fucking same.
Take back the power of the worker.... Fuck the oligarch.
It's just ridiculous that they've put out 24 years of music and still sound fresh.
Hard agree! They mature like we hope people would. This is fire
I think it's because it their own style. I mean I hear influences like "The Bled" in there but who else sounds like these guys? Especially compared against bands that have a million clones that sound exactly the same.
They never stop putting out fire every release and get better than the last each time, don't know how many bands I can say that about
@@mrblackeric43 norma jean, ken mode, cancer bats, converge!
@@bryanmckinney1098 the only other band that sounds even remotely similar is a band called Twelve Gauge Valentine. They aren't very well known but they kick ass...atleast in my opinion, I saw them live a long time ago and they were really good. But ETID is leagues better. I recommend checking TGV out, they only have one album I know of, it should be on UA-cam, I know I've seen a music video from it on here. It other than that, no other band sounds quite like them.
ETID and the deftones are two of the only bands on this planet that still kick ass and pump out great music on a consistent basis.
...
…
Who's going to tell em....
Used to. ETID is dead.
This is why ETID has been consistently my favorite band since I was a freshman in high school lol. I'm 32. Fuckin nothing but straight energy from the boys. Eagerly awaiting the full album drop. ETIDiot for life.
33, from the UK, totally the same story mate. Nice to know we can get old but some stuff doesn't go to total shit
Sameee haha im 36 now but still listen even despite the break up. Its a vibe.
@@SethHasaDeathwish Fuggin Keith man.. Why is it always the lead singers that have to be drama. They're legit the best band ever. I do like the side projects they're mixed up in though. DRAG THE LAKE!!! YOU'LL FIND IT FULL OF LOVE!!!
@@ImOldGreggg I know, there's already drama in Many Eyes they kicked out the guitarist got a new one before the new album was out.
I'm 53 and will be still listening to this when I'm 90.
keith buckley will go down as one of the best lyricist's that's ever been around. ETID is like wine, they keep getting better the older they get. Hot Damn! will always be my #1 but these last few albums ETID have put out are AMAZING.
🔥 spot on dude. Hot Damn is my favorite as well. The Big Dirty isn't far behind, but I'm more stoked about this album than I've been with any other. Especially with this pandemic, the way they've trickled songs out to us was genius. Definitely has me jonsing for more.
but...We'rewolf.
Fuckin' right his lyrics kill
@@TaylorBlack0 I thought they were kind of childish in this song and also arrogant like he some how has all the answer to fix planet shit
@@nothing2see315 whose fucking side are you on?
Lighting my house on fire just so I can mosh with the firefighters to this song.
Firefighters, "sir please stop running in circles, you've inhaled a lot of smoke!"
Knocked loose opening for ETiD in Fargo ND was absolutely nuts
"Honesty’s not a virtue when you’re a lying piece of shit" is one of my favourite lyrics in any song, ever.
Totally agree.
"Without speech there will be no deceit" is a line from New Millenium Cyanide Christ by Meshuggah.. another great lyric. Listen to the whole somg for context though. Give 'em a run if you haven't already 🤘
why its a super mediocre line, possibly one of the worst keith has ever written
@@doom8274 I know lol. Keith has written a thousand better lines than that
Sucks the brothers couldn’t get along. I hope they are able to love each other again once they’re not in close proximity all the time anymore. Love every single member of this band, they’re good guys and i refuse to take a side.
Yeah no keith, no ETID, and vice versa.
beautiful sentiment and i completely agree
Seems like Keith's been through a lot and put people through a lot with his drinking in the past. That shit takes a hard toll on your well being even after quitting. You gotta learn how to forgive yourself even when other people may never.
I read the posts. It seems like Keith had a breakdown and the band is pretty much done with it. It's probably for his best well being.
"The blade that cuts through their spine, has good people on both sides"
That's a t-shirt I would buy.
Why? The quote itself isn’t being used in context
@@2xRainb0w i think it makes perfect sense by itself. “Good people on both sides” is a well known phrase now from Trumps remarks on Charlottesville, and people can extrapolate the rest of the meaning from there.
@@andyspendlove1019 except it’s a known quote used by media to further the narrative that he’s a white supremacist. I guarantee ETID is using it ironically and as a stab at trump without knowing full context in that he said he wasn’t talking about “neo nazis or white supremacists because they should be condemned totally” he was talking about the protesters and the counter protesters having good peaceful protesters on both sides.
@@2xRainb0w except Unite the Right was an explicitly fascist white supremacist gathering, nobody on that side needs to be validated in any way
@@____smith so it doesn’t matter that the quote is taken out of context as long as it attacks people you don’t agree with, Most likely people who are sick of media pushing narratives against their skin color.
A great pairing for the Murderface solo project, Planet Piss.
I thought the same thing. Lol
MONUMENTAL. How Every Time I Die keep doing this album after album blows me away. Each one feels more special and more refined than the last and this one is building to be no exception. Awesome lads, keep up the good work
We need to take a moment to acknowledge how consistent this band has been, never a bad album or song, always evolving while sticking to their unique sound!
what is this? absolute fire and energy!
It’s Every Time I Die baby.
1. Life
2. Death
3. Every Time I Die dropping bangers
Ahh yes, the three inevitabilities.
Good Lord. Favorite band ever for a reason
What the hell are we supposed to listen to after this !? 🔥
Their whole discography 🙏
🙌
Just hit replay
Definitely hits different, but go listen to Royal Blood-Boilermaker. Before this song, that was the only song that rendered all other songs useless.
Heavy deadlifts
So the first 45 seconds or so is just the most insane intro… then that chorus: then the verse riff!! Face melted… plus the way the guitars and vox line up on the beat is on point. Then those lyrics… that’s next level on its own. My gawd this album is going to be insane!
“What kind of heaven awaits someone so cruel and afraid?”
Just, wow, excellent work. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
They continue to be my favorite band.
ETID always comes out with amazing music. After 25 years these guys never disappoint! Always one of my favorite bands
These fucking lyrics are incredible.
My wife hates this song, which just further proves its awesomeness.
😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This Sh*t is so fast, it gives me heart palpitations. Nice work!
N gives you energy call me emperor palpitations 🤣🤣🤣
This sounds like it should of been on the gutter phenomenon album. Fucking well done lads!! Absolutely love it! Definitely going into the work Playlist. Looking forward to more boys!!!
Getting some Converge vibes with the riffs!
This planet might be shit, but at least ETID isn’t.
This is there best album to date. I don’t care what anybody says.
Haven't listen to you guys since the Low Teens album came out. My best friend Peter had just became a fan of you guys and was showing me the album because he knew I haven't heard it and loved ETiD. He passed away a couple weeks after he showed me the album. Came to visit him today and had to play this for him as I had promised him new ETiD. This song is fucking beautiful and I know Peter would had loved this masterpiece. Thank you for the music.
Sorry for your loss
thats beautiful man
I just found out that Mr Williams is wrestler at AEW but the song is great too. Greetings from Switzerland!!!
This song threw a brick at me
10 bricks out of 10
"What kind of death can you buy that's any different than mine?"
Cool song. 10/10. Playing on repeat, right now
this is legitimately the most punk song I've ever heard.
"I WANT HEADS!"
wouldnt actually ever go get any tho. sounds tough tho
@@theemoparakeet there's value in energizing the ones who would.
I don't know about that but ETID definitely kicks ass nonetheless.
This was def my favorite anthem for this time frame in the world
"There's no law when the outlaw wears a badge"
Yo, this motha fuggah's spittin' and this sh!t slaps
I love ETID, but DAMN you edgy son
@@drawntothefire thank you? haha

Still using this album as lifting fuel and cardio session vomiting
Miss these guys. This is the hardest and heaviest I’ve heard them go. What a fucking tune,
I approve of this amazing jam
🤘🏼
The consistency of their music and how it has not changed since the first album. They just morphed into harder more party tunes!
Every-time I hear their music I want to hang off chandeliers with whiskey in one hand while holding on with the other swinging!
confirmed slapper
Oh my.... ETID. I'm Jacob. KEEP the music coming. Been listening to you guys for years southern rock and break downs!!
ETID. DOES. NOT. MISS.
This got me so pumped I just punched myself in the face. 11 out of 10.
I remember hearing the preview of this on the ETID Instagram months ago and being massively excited for this one. It definitely doesn't disappoint. My favourite off the new album so far.
I am feelin real fuckin fired up about this - SO GOOD
Can you believe i just discovered them and now i got like 7 albums of amazing new music to abuse.
it will never cease to amaze me that saying something along the lines of "hey, don't be racist" somehow manages to stir up so much anger and controversy. y'all are wild.
song rips.
Right? How does anybody get upset over that? So brow-raising...
Brandon. Listen to me when I tell you to stop being racist.
"If Adolf Hitler flew in today, they'd send a limousine anyway" - Joe Strummer, 1977
Cynical cashing in on the woke grift. Might as well be doing songs for Kellogg's.
@@IlIlIlIlIlIlIIlIlIlIlIlIlIIIII they can do whatever they want. It ain't your band.
expect nothing less than perfection from this band ladies & boys
Best track released so far!
"It's too on the nose" "Its juvenile", "This is my last song". Guess we know what side of the spine you're on.
The side with nuance that doesn’t paint the world in black and white? The side that doesn’t respond with knee jerk reactions to complicated issues? It would help to understand who exactly they’re referring to in this song. Is it strictly racists of all kinds or is it referring to normie conservatives who simply vote different than the band?
These days it’s hard to understand at a glance who the target is.
@@Dan_Backslide definitely the corruption in the US government and in their police force.
@@calebafile4306
Got it. I’ve seen comments that run contrary to what you’ve claimed so would you mind linking an explanation (if one exists) or is that your own personal take on the meaning?
@@Dan_Backslide the whole outlaw with a badge line covers the corrupt cop ordeal and when people refer to guillotining people of power, it refers to when the French king and queen were guillotined, among probably other French royals in those times. There's other references I have missed, but being someone outside of the US, it's hard for me to really pinpoint them.
@@calebafile4306
Yeah I picked up on the cop part and understand the history behind the guillotine, but that’s why I’m skeptical. Keith Buckley is a leftist and an article written about the song heavily implies that the focus is on “marginalized people.” These days, leftists don’t use the word “racist” to refer to other leftists. It’s usually just a term to punch down at the right. I call his message into question because of how common this practice is.
Only recently found out about this band through a friend. Very disappointed that I was late to this party.
I was listening to them in high school in the early 2000s. In other words, I'm cooler than you
@@redhouse3994 haha
Im on my own fucking side, Keith.
I'll definitely be saying 'Give 'em Rope' on a daily basis now

Hot damn! Release the album already!😭
My red fish listened to this song : he became a megalodon
I’m in love with the manager. About to go do weird buttstuff on company time and company dime.
so many emotions and social issues in a song i love this
"The blade that cuts through their spine has good people on both sides"
God DAMN lol
What did that mean though? For real I'm trying to figure it out, lol
@@Jake_Powd same
@@allforthebit I'm thinking it means something along the lines of, everyone is guilty because we all go along with it. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
theres no such thing as evil people, just evil intentions.
I think it's a reference to Trump's comments after the Charlottesville neo-nazi rallies about "good people on both sides" and the blade that cuts through their spine is a guillotine blade, I think they are using the first phrase ironically and satirizing trump's use of it. Maybe there is a deeper meaning of the people that deserve the guillotine dividing us along superficial lines like race, but imo it's just irony.
It could also just be about guillotining neo-nazis. The blade has good people on both sides meaning the side that is throwing the lever and the one getting the blade in the neck. Super-ironic.
Same band who did "The New Black" from Guitar Hero 2, yo
I WANT HEADS!
Getting some ebolarama vibes for sure!!!!! ETID Forever
Jesus fucking christ this song is so damn good.
I love how it doesn't need to be said who this is talking about. we just know.
They should have signed these guys for Cyberpunk for REAL this fits exactly fucking in Cyberpunk 2077

“There’s no hope when the outlaw wears the badge”

This band has one thing that just makes it different from other bands, something in their sound
this song isnt just angry, its seething!

This work is too genuine in all its totality.
Normally Keith is a little more subtle about his message in his lyrics. But this topic in particular requires in your face, straight to the point, verbal assault. And he fucking nailed it.
Are you racist, or human? Who’s fucking side are you on?
Nice, it's like The Bronx meets Converge...

"There's no law when the outlaw wears a badge" oooof
in the bits where he says "so give them rope" to "yeah the guillotine" I feel like that type of vocal is reminiscent of Jason Aalon Butler from Letlive on the Blackest Beautiful album.
