I am very happy for you and your crew. It is a lot to do when you are getting a car ready to start for the first time after a major repair. The time, money, physical labor and mental fatigue all combine to make your stomach churn. But the excitement hearing it fire off that first time is a special feeling. Those days are long since gone for me, I am very happy that you are taking us along for the ride so to speak.
Nothing more exciting and satisfying than firing up engine for 1st time. You have much more self control than me because I would have to rev up engine before turning it off. Great job. Thanks Logan and Mitchell
when im on deutsch duty i will call my self the Deustch bag, the shop im in pronunces it closer to Dutch. oohh math spacing things, but so goddamn worth it, so happy seeing you build shit again! and no, you dont sound stupid, its insightful man.
When looks and functionality just come together it's just a good feeling, I've thought before I'm lucky i stubbled on figuring that out, people are gonna think I'm a genius
I admire you for this building.. Everything has to built overbuilt, for the power going to all parts of a top notch race car. Being patient and particular will be an advantage when you are on the track with the other racers. I wish you well and hoping you make a tremendous impact when you hit the track 👍🏁🙏❤️
Really nice demonstration of Tools and their uses, deburring tool, De pinning tool and Crimping tool. I suppose if I keep watching I’ll get to see some AN wrenches in action.
Loved it!! I'm so looking forward to seeing what you do at Ron's shop & whenever you make your 1st laps!! I've really enjoyed watching you build this car & the attention to detail you've put into each & every part of the car!! I'm a firm believer that the more you know about your car the better the car is going to perform!!
Good stuff man, love the attention to detail and explanation. This build is gonna be sick! Also big ups for not acting like a typical car channel hypebeast. I appreciate the unforced, down-to-earth narration.
That was a feel good moment 👍. Now excuse me for saying this, some like it and some don't, but I remember when DW said it the first time; BOOGITY, BOOGITY, BOOGITY, LET'S GO RACING !!!!
How did you not lose your mind when it fired? I was giddy for you, man! This series is priceless. I can’t wait to see it done! Side note: I’ve seen pictures of a GNSS lineup and your car is going to be the nicest thing on site by a mile in comparison.
This is similar going from the v carburetor to the regular carb on an 83 Ltd with all them vacuum lines.i found some of the lines in wrong places and I wondered how it ran & didn't blow up.i figured it out looking at vacuum diagrams in books and got good acceleration and idle after all of that.finding a fuel tank was a challenge too.
Whoot Whoot!!! You are almost too chill about that start up. 😂 I was more excited when the Kevin Harvick #29 started up when I got to drive it at Texas Motor Speedway. I do get being rendered a bit speechless after a lot of work to get there though. Keep up the good work you 2!!!
I have two sets of boom tubes in the box if you are interested. Also great content in your videos . I enjoy the visits you do, because I go by to the 70's. In my interests of NASCAR. Keep them coming.
excited for you brother. anybody can go buy a car done. the dedication and persistence of building your own shit makes it so much better. and your right about taking the small victories when they come!.
Dude, I bet this baby was fun to build! And yes, when you build it yourself, you do develop a connection with the car. You also know the car better. So when you're driving it and feeling the car, you know every inch and can tell what it is that you're feeling.
Good. Job man overcoming adapt. It provides what I was always told.Have played be in a plane c in the back of your mind. You put those holes in there Now you're gonna use them to mount your lines. So they Are secure 😂
You love the way it should look like it's like looking at art work the way it should be been done so it can be worked on in the future too makes things easier later on and you know what is going on with you're car!!! Great video of your hard work into Your project that means allot to you and it shows in the way you are talking about it and everything you have touched and worked on
Awesome I'll def keep my eyes open for it. Hopefully Flowracing will carry the race. If not hopefully you and Logan will record it for here on your channel. Hammer down and get that WIN!!!
@@Stapleton42 oh man i know u gotta be itchin i got goosebumps from that lil blip like u did i cant imagine id be wanting to be out there every day just giving her a quick blip i do it with my Camaro sometimes too
There’s a concept called mechanical sympathy. Basically, a driver who understands the vehicle and how it works and how it’s built, will understand how hard to push it. I believe Jackie Stewart coined it
When the car fired up for the first time you didn’t have to explain it, I know I felt it. Gave me goosebumps too just knowing how it feels for the first time after all that work. Can’t wait for part 3!
Honestly, I think going with a Mopar powerplant is a smart decision since they are the most durable and reliable in my opinion. Chrysler's greatest strength was in their engine builds and it shows. It's unfortunate that R5P7 isn't a hemi configuration, but it sounds like a beast none the less. :)
Mitch if you and Logan want to see something impressive, next time you go to California go to San Diego and visit Pete Aardema and Kevin Brauns shop. They build land speed cars for bonneville, and they also build engines literally from scratch handmade.
That silence from you after shutting the car off was deafening!!! We all felt that. To see it all come together after all the meticulous work is awesome man! You did it!! I shed a tear and had a beer for you man. Congrats!!
Can’t wait to see this car drive soon. Getting that engine started is special. sounds great. engine sounds starting. Heck ya Can’t wait to hear it rip and your experience.
You remind me so much of my father ! One of the best mechanics in Miami for years when he was younger. From a D8H Cat Bulldozer to a watch, he could fix anything. And of course, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right"! He helped all the racers and motor guys in Miami at a place called H.C. Wilcox Machinee Shop on NW27 Ave and the Miami River. 😂He taught everyone. Dad, Banjo Mathews, Eddie, Bobby and Donnie and many more guys that would be famous. Again, you all have the good type of OCD. Like the old saying goes, Luck is where preperation meets oportunity. And oh yeah, a Mopar motor in a Chevrolet makes plenty of sense to me. Bobby used to set up all different makes of cars with a GM front suspension. He had his reasons, and they worked 85 times. Good stuff guys, sounds great. Good luck with you're racing.
Back when i was 16 or so I wrapped a header in shorts, a t shirt and no gloves. A week later i had the courage to wrap the 2nd header.... With 2 long sleeves, jeans and two pairs of rubber gloves 😂 I will NEVER wrap anything in fiberglass ever again
Also for angles on tubing and pipe, the local dude that fabricates a lot of the cages made himself a jig and a hydraulic tubing notcher . Had a foot pump, to pump the hydraulic jack, while he held the tubes. He also made a bender similarly. It cut the tubes at perfect angles and notched sides so the tubes would line up perfectly and hug each other, for clean, strong welds. Those held up and saved lots of folks life and limb, mine and his included. There are probably some for purchase, but this was back before amazon and ebay was much of a.thing.
Were you wearing a SPEED shirt in the beginning of the video if yes awsome love RG. Do you have an address I can send you a couple of old but new cup plates.
Mitch, if you want to duplicate an angle; get yourself a sliding T bevel. Just set it to an angle (or against the piece you already have) and use it as a gauge for the other piece(s).
How can I make these build videos better? Let me know !

Hey Mitchell I'm watching what I missed. There's some great videos on how to use paper and transfer the angles you need to cut on pipe.

Great race car. Can the oil filter handle full pressure from the pump? Maybe full pressure to the engine first.
You can wrap the metal braided hoses in painters tape then cut through the tape and the metal fibers won't fly everywhere.
