- The tiger tongue plant commonly referred to as snake plant, Sansevieria trifasciata, is a resilient succulent that can grow anywhere between 6 inches to several feet.
A common houseplant, the Sansevieria trifasciata is native to Asia and Africa. It can be recognized by its evergreen sword-shaped leaves that grow upright and almost resemble artificial foliage.
In addition to providing a bit of ambiance, tiger tongue plants have a number of health benefits, including:
filter indoor air
remove toxic pollutants
may help boost mental health
easy to care for
effective against allergies
may help enhance the “energy” of a space, according to feng shui
can help with minor ailments
tiger tongue plants are often used as home decor since they’re pleasing to the eye, are easy to care for, and require little water to survive.
The snake plant, commonly referred to as mother-in-law’s tongue, is a resilient succulent that can grow anywhere between 6 inches to several feet.
By releasing oxygen and adding moisture to the air, tiger tongue plants can help lessen the impact of airborne allergens like dust and dander.
Since poor indoor air quality has been linked to many health-related issues like allergies and asthma, this is a definite benefit.
The snake plant, Sansevieria trifasciata
The way to make an aquatic plant from the tiger tongue is very simple: we take the tiger tongue tree and then cut a part of the old root, remove all the old roots and old leaves. Then bring the cuttings into the pot of soil including: garden soil, coconut humus and rice husk ash. About 1 month, the plant will give new white roots that look very beautiful, we wash and then put the plant in a prepared glass jar. Ten teng… so there was a pot of aquatic plants at the desk. Ni las riego...solo cuando me acuerdo🤣 y ellas ..tan lindas y campantes y dan florecitas y semillas...son lindas las amo,no dan lata, no dan trabajo y las tengo por toda mi casa, desde la entrada ,pasando por la sala el pasillo , el comedor las recámaras los balcones, el jardín delantero ,interior, medio y trasero, en la cocina en el garaje, vaya ! Q hasta en el baño las tengo junto con helechos ,y suculentas, son muy agradecidas y muy hermosas! Las amo.😍🥰

Sí. Me daba pena como rompía la plantita y tiró mucha raíz. Creo que si se dejan hojas con raíces, se pueden multiplicar. como bien dices. Pero se ve que no era su objetivo.

As I've learned from other vloggers snake plants cannot withstand using water propogation because of over watered. I'll try your technique. Thanks for the added info.

El caso es , que cuando se trasplantan ojas cortadas los brotes crecen pero un verde total .
Tengo sansiveria enana, de hace más de 50 años, me la regaló mí suegro, no sé cómo la producía era magia, y vivía a Buenos Aires, húmedo, 15 cuadras del río, nadie la miró más y se expandió por todo un cantero de ventana.
Ahora vivo en las sierras semi desértico, y mí hermano me trajo, durante el verano fantástico, pero acá hiela, puede nevar, viento de la cordillera no tan lejana, y las dejé en una maceta bajo mí centenario algarrobo junto a tacos de reina, tapados con tela para heladas, un pequeño invernáculo, y viven!!!!! Todas!!!!!! Poca agua, x temor a que x la noche se hiele.

не понимаю ... зачем было удалять корни растению... конечно, сансивьера - это устойчивое растение - и корни новые вырастут... но удаление старых корней - затормаживает рост этого растения - которое и так растёт не так уж и быстро...
да и потом удалённые листья - их тоже можно засадить - они прекрано вкореняются и пускают деток...
так что смысл этого ролика - я не понимаю....
насчёт простонародного названия сансивьеры - впервые слышу (тигровых язык)... У нас в Болгарии - это растение называют "меч"... так же впервые вижу - чтобы это растение держали в воде, особенно молодые побеги... (они в воде предрасположенны к загниванию... так что не советую так делать - можете уничтожить так растение...

Where I live it's snake plant. The older people called it mother-in-law tongue. I've never heard it called tiger tongue. Or seen one abused so badly.

Why did they cut off the leaves and root and then re-root the plants in soil. Commentary would be useful.
Because the old roots were discolored with age they were removed, along with some of the outer leaves to reduce bulk. Then fresh young roots were created in the soil with a nice white color. This way they will look better in the water through the vase.
