Very nice friend. I currently own nothing from MTH. I’m a Lionel guy but I have acquired some Right of Way and Weaver. Thinking of getting something from MTH.
not sure if you've picked any up yet but the DCS explorer is a great way to start. wifi control up to 3 locos i believe, the newer PS3 ready to run railking sets like this one come with it too
That looks very similar to my 2-8-0 MTH Railking with PS 2.0 (The Ohio State Train). It’s my oldest MTH bought new in 2006 and has run flawlessly all that time except when it needed the battery replaced last month, and a traction tire replaced after living most of its live running up and down grades (it came with extra tires). MTH made great starter sets back then. Mine came with a Z1000, a loop of 031 track, some track design software, the loco and 4 cars for under $350. I’m sure your train will last you a very long time! Good progress on your layout!
The only issue I have is the MTH engine draws more power than my Lionchief engine. So pulling long consists is a strain on the engine while volume and smoke is at max. Other wise no issues. I like the little remote because it was cheap and does what I need.
@@triplertrains yes same 😂😂 I have an older proto 1 mth engine and my primary power source is a cw80 and LionChief engines but you know mth engines don’t like the cw80 but I had this old 75 watt Lionel transformer laying around and it runs but the headlight doesn’t work and it doesn’t smoke like it should
Amazing video! Subscribed! I have 4 of those Railking 2-8-0s.
Thank you very much!
Sounds great! :)
Beautiful loco.
nice engine got to say i like those mth steam engines Railking with PS 2.0 was the frist modern train I picked up
Love it!!!! 😊
Great locomotive!
Looks great

So far I’m super impressed! Even for a starter loco
Looks like a great new engine for your collection. Thanks for sharing.
These are some great Engines. Great Looking and Great Sounding from MTH. And you can get them for good buy. I really like mine.
Great video, the train looks great. I am new to your channel and I just subscribed. Very nice run session and layout!👍
VERY NICE!!! How were you powering the MTH?
Right now using a Lionel wall wart until I pick up a 180w brick. I’m using the MTH remote command (little black basic ir remote)
@@triplertrains Any issues? I’m thinking of going this route too since I have a mostly Lionel collection and very few mth engines
