I really like the new track plan and I also like the idea of not having a town. Something about lots of track sidings and switches are what I like as well. Keep up the great work!
I really like the new track plan. If you wanted to you could add a loading/unloading platform for the tank cars and maybe a few tanks so it's kind of another industry
That is an interesting set-up; IMHO being able to continuously run and do switching is the way to go. Sometimes a swing-and-a-miss leads to a homerun; you're on your way now. Look into building kits. I know Lionel has some for houses, but there may be some older industrial kits that are a fraction of the price, and it's not a total kitbash task. Some spray paint and glue and good-to-go. Thanks for sharing your work.
A very nice video and layout. I'd also like to add that flexibility and adaptability are useful skills to have in model railroading, as the layout plan I have currently is much different than the one I started with when I first got into model railroading about five years ago.
I like your layout. I've got a 4X12 foot table and I'm trying to figure out how to set it up for two main lines and some areas for switching operations too.
I like it, having a switch yard and passing track and 2 loops. I've been trying to think of a good layout with a switch yard. I do like the small switcher engines too, I want Lionel new 0-6-0 tank engine with the electro mag couplers.
The ideas with the storage tracks going into the mountains are definitely unique. I've been to the Former K&T railroad in Stearns Kentucky, it was coal and lumber hauling short line railroad back in the day. You should research that for inspiration on your lumber mill and coal mine, while the standard Guage cars don't go into the mountains it's still a pretty good prototype for your infrastructure like the coal tippel and things, you could even put the tippel building on the mountain and have the chute that loads the cars go down into the mountain and load the car s while the cars are in the mountain.
Did you ever think about using Lionel 48 radius Remote switches? This way you wouldn't have to go everywhere on the Layout too throw the switches just stand by your transformer & switch controls. Do you think you will be interested in making a video segment or a two-part episode on wiring your Layout? That is my weakness. I have no idea & knowledge on wiring a Layout? BTW Your Layout is looking Great I want to see a lot more
The cost of those O48 remote switches was a bit out of the realm of what I wanted to spend unfortunately. Also O48 switches would have left me with less yard room on an already cramped layout.
@@triplertrains very cool. I've watched your videos from the very start. I was one of the first 40 to your channel. I'm always impressed with how your coming along with the layout. Anyways happy holidays you and your family. Look forward to the next udate.

Thumbs up. Credit to you being flexible in your design

Funny you say that because I just ordered a kit as well as some old Lionel pieces to assist in some scratch building metal shingles.

Looking good! 😎👍

Nice
Any new layout updates since this one
Been working on the upper loop mountain on the left side. I’ve been super busy with work and life but hopefully making an update video soon.

yikes...not much room left for structures? Will you consider adding another table making this a "L" layout?...add the mining operation on that table
I do actually have plans to add on but we will see 🤞🏻
@@triplertrains best of luck …will keep watching
